Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EauRouge · 30/01/2011 18:52

Thanks for the update angels, I wonder if needto has her baby yet?

Well I have no news other than that I stink of clary sage and that baby has started using my sciatic nerve as a trampoline Angry I hate the last few weeks!

debka · 30/01/2011 20:18

Yes, thanks angels, hope baby isn't too long in coming!

Have posted in Relationships (for the first time, but am pretty desperate) about my DH- do have a look and comment if you can solve all my problems have any ideas :)

PinkiePoo · 30/01/2011 20:23

debka what is the thread you have posted on?? xxx Hope you are ok x

debka · 30/01/2011 20:25

It's Childbirth Imminent- And DH is Being a Git.

wigglesrock · 30/01/2011 20:25

Hope all is going well with need to Grin

Ledkr Glad you're both home and hope that you are getting some rest. Will keep my eyes peeled for the in-laws thread.

DD1 lost her first tooth this morning, its been on the verge of falling out for weeks, deperately trying to think of how to maneouvre her special "tooth box" from underneath her pillow in order to leave some money. Apparently a lost tooth now equals a trip to the Disney Store and maybe McDonalds Hmm price of inflation I guess Grin Emotions are obviously running high in the Wiggles house as both Mr Wiggles and I tried to disguise a little tear when we realised how grown up she is getting.

earlgreyismynectar · 30/01/2011 20:28

How are you using the Clary Sage EauRouge? I've got some & got a diffuser recently in prep for good smells in labour! Are you mixing it with another oil? I've been using lavender & bergamot & was planning on getting Rose too. I've heard Clary Sage is pretty potent!

Thanks for the update Angels, I was keen to see if we had any new babies! I hope they're both doing fine & it won't be too long for them. Sending them lots of positive labour vibes!

Congrats Ledkr on getting home & being so utterly smitten! Don't let the in laws put a dampner on any of it. Look forward to hearing more about your beautiful girl!

Take care everyone oh & welcome newbie (sorry forgotten yr name already Grin & iPhone making me lazy!)

ledkr · 30/01/2011 20:31

Hi all, bloody joy didn't last long, we are back in hospital now due to not feeding thus jaundess, found out poor baby has a cleft palate thankfully no lip or facial dis figurement tho, had massive cry then saw specialist who said no big deal but she will need xsmall op around 7 months and I have special bottles. we are ok now, Dh is amazing, we are just glad its nothing more serious. Dh said its just a bigger challenge and we can meet it. good luck all who are near x

EauRouge · 30/01/2011 20:35

Oh ledkr, sorry to hear that :( At least you are getting help and they spotted it early on. I hope DD feeds a bit better on her new bottles.

earlgrey, potent is right, it stinks. I've made a massage oil with grapeseed oil as a base then a few drops of clary sage and a few of lavender- that goes on the bump Grin then I stick a couple drops on a muslin square that I hang on the headboard and a couple of drops in the bath when I have one. A couple of drops is definitely enough, it's really strong!

wigglesrock · 30/01/2011 21:01

Ledkr sorry you had a bad day, we have quite a few cleft palates in my family and my cousins have had 2 children that have been through the early operation at 7/8 months with absolutely no problems. As soon as the feeding was sorted out, everything was so much easier, so glad to hear dh has been a good support, now give your beautiful baby a kiss and hug from us and try and get your head down xxxxx

JustOneMorePlease · 30/01/2011 21:30

ledkr am thinking of you, it is horrid when things don't run smoothly, I've been there with ds1.

Things will all seem easier to cope with when the shock has gone. She is a lucky baby to have an experienced mummy. At least it was picked up quickly.

Also you are vulnerable at the mo with your hormones kicking in, day 3. Take lots of care. Big big non-mny hugs. Give baby a big kiss from the 'Fab Feb Mummies' xxxxxx

knittakid · 30/01/2011 22:17

Oh ledkr, so glad it's nothing more serious and that your dh is being great! hope the feeding gets better soon and you all get to enjoy each other. Sending you lots of hugs as well.

Forgot to say before welcome to ozzy, am due 24th so will hang on here for a while yet too!

PDR · 30/01/2011 22:36

ledkr hope the new bottles are helping her feed :) poor you being back in the hospital but great that you have seen specialist so quickly :) Your DH sounds fab too!

40Weeks · 31/01/2011 01:07

Sorry to hear that ledkr but glad things are getting sorted, what are they doing about jaundice? And what did inlaws do? Glad dh is stepping up to the mark.

Am getting so much pain tonight. Dh is away so bezzy mate staying, who happens to be paramedic so in safe hands and sure it's nothing as still got 3.5 wks to go, could be wind? Have taken paracetamol and hoping it will go away

tadjennyp · 31/01/2011 02:06

So sorry to hear of your little ones problems, but glad they picked up on it so soon and you can get the feeding sorted out so quickly.

Tried 10 pin bowling and a curry to kick-start labour here but nothing doing. Don't know what else to try. (Dh not up for sex as already quite a bit dilated!)

janedoe25 · 31/01/2011 07:16

Ledkr sorry to hear your news but glad it was spotted. hope you and baby are ok and escape the hospital soon.

Hope the labouring ladies are ok and snuggling some newborns!

roundthehouses · 31/01/2011 08:05

oh ledkr I am sorry, of course the news really upset you. great it was picked up so quickly and that feeding is better. Take care of yourself xx

tadjenny - 10 pin bowling is pretty good going! Sorry i haven´t checked stats in a while, are you now due? Apparently walking up and down stairs sideways is worth a shot? bouncing on gym ball?

Debka, i read your thread but i´m sorry i´m not really sure what to advise, you know your dp and know if this is out of character. In your place I would probably just throw a major strop with shouting and tears and retire to bed til he decided to take some responsibility for the house, the kids, and ME!! no idea if this would work though Confused

Today is officially first day of mat leave!! yay! Unfortunately although i would ideally sleep til 10am i do still have to get up at 7.30am and help ds with his morning routine or, as we found a couple of days last week, he automatically thinks its the weekend and has a major meltdown about going to school. Anyway they have left now so about to chuck myself on the sofa to catch up with my sleep.

Scan tomorrow to check if baby is head down and I will be 37 weeks - woohoo - just about ready for you now baby! Even made a serious dent in "things to do" over the weekend getting baby blankets and sheets all washed (or at least started on the pile) and sorted ds´ wardrobe which was starting to look scary. We even painted what was the office and now I am off is what dh is now eyeballing as his own music room (funny coincidence that NOW he finds time to sort/ paint it..hmmmm? Wink)

Hope you all have a great day and here´s hoping for some baby news from somebody Grin

snowangels1 · 31/01/2011 08:08

oh ledkr that sounds really worrying but I'm glad they spotted what it was and sounds like that was the reason for the bad feeding, so with the new bottle hopefully she'll pick up fine and what wiggles said about the op sounds very positive.

needto update (she did tell me I could update you btw!) baby boy needto born last night - needto and baby doing well last time I heard Grin . So exciting, and it's still only january! Hopefully she'll give us all a good fill in when she is able.

Yawn - so tired - yawn. Worst nights sleep in ages last night and burning heartburn as LO decided to move as high up in my tummy as she could possibly manage Confused

byronicheroine · 31/01/2011 08:08

Just checking in to see the latest... so exciting!
Good luck everyone :) and ledkr i'm glad you've got it sorted so you can get on with being besotted!
Has anyone been offered a sweep, and if so when?
My midwife has said she'll give me one tomorrow 'if I want' - I'll be 38+5. I think this sounds a bit early and I'd prefer to leave it a bit longer to see if anything happens on it's own [hopeful emoticon]. Any experience?

janedoe25 · 31/01/2011 08:24

Yay huge congrats to needtosleep on her litte boy! Hope you are both well Grin

PinkElephant73 · 31/01/2011 08:58

byronicheroine is there any particular reason your MW thinks you should have a sweep so early?

mine has told me that NICE guidelines say that sweeps are to be given before 40 weeks for first babies and 40+7 for subsequent. (it will also be v uncomfortable if your cervix is not favourable).

PinkElephant73 · 31/01/2011 08:58

ARGH! Sweeps are NOT to be given before 40 weeks according to NICE, ,stupid pregnancy brain.

Lulabel27 · 31/01/2011 09:01

Congratulations on those who have had their babies! Wonderful news! Sorry to hear about the cleft palate ledkr but it sounds like it's fixable. What's happening about the jaundice?

I was due on 26th, last Wednesday so I'm now 40+5. Getting fed up. Really wanted her to arrive this weekend gone because we have my DSD and DSS this weekend (no chance of change of weekend) and no idea what will happen if I go into labour on Thursday night/Friday/Saturday/Sunday!! No family nearby etc

Please keep your fingers crossed! I've tried everything!

PinkElephant73 · 31/01/2011 09:05

Anyone else finding that their OH is being a bit of a div a tad unsupportive at the moment?

Mine woke me up at 6.30am today clanging around really noisily to get ready for work, while knowing that I am not sleeping well. He was then fully ready for work 30 mins before he actually needed to leave the house. dickhead

I only got 5 hours sleep last night (between 12-2 and 3-6.30).

Ill be sleeping in the spare room tonight (and quite likely for the rest of our marriage) but he will probably still find some reason to burst in there in the middle of the night, turn all the lights and radio on and bounce up and down on the side of the bed while putting his socks on.

knittakid · 31/01/2011 09:44

Ohhhhh congrats to needto!!!! welcome baby boy! really itching to hear your story!

pink, my DH always manages to sit on my feet wherever they are under the duvet, it doesn't matter if they are up by a pillow, completely on my side or on his, etc... how does he do it???? of course he then bounces on them too.

debka · 31/01/2011 09:56

pinkelephant have a look at my thread on the Relationships board- Childbirth Imminent- I have great sympathy with those with awful DHs. I also got about 5hrs last night- feel like the walking dead this morning.

PS lucky you having a spare room....

BTW thanks to all who posted on my thread, you were v kind and understanding. :) I just posted that he's been suffering with cluster migraines, (only mentioned it today after violently throwing up from the pain), which explains some of the bad behaviour.

SO GLAD to hear needto has had hers- congratulations if you're coming online!!

ledkr hope DD is doing a bit better with her special bottles, has she a name yet?
