WanderingSheep · 27/01/2011 17:25

LOL Delia I had thought the same thing but didn't say anything in case people thought I was weird! Glad someone else has thought the same - not saying that you're weird btw!

cookingfat · 27/01/2011 17:31

Congratulations ledkr Grin

btw, I also thought the thread title referred to all the stretching that's going to kick off soon!!

knittakid · 27/01/2011 17:32

Ohh ledkr congrats!!!!

Grin looking forward to that final stretch (ouch!) specially since I've not been doing the perineal massage as intended and now it just feels very weird... sorry TMI!

Do we have any details on penelope's birth? come'on share your story!

ledkr · 27/01/2011 17:34

The whole theatre was soaked and the staff. I haven't put her down yet!

EauRouge · 27/01/2011 17:35

I've got visions now of your DD coming out surfing on a massive wave Grin

tadjennyp · 27/01/2011 17:54

Congratulations ledkr that is fab news. Enjoy all your snuggles with that gorgeous newborn smell! Smile

Welcome cheekymonk. I have dd (Anna - fab name! almost 5) and ds (Edward - 3) and am due on the 9th. Am so tired now, want him to come tomorrow. Hope the Floradix works wiggles.
Congratulations varicose - thanks for sharing. Am sorry if I have missed any news. Really out of it at the moment.

snowangels1 · 27/01/2011 17:59

That's actually a really good point I had never considered before - just how/where does the fluid escape to during a csec? I'm imagining a suckering up machine bit like they stick in your mouth at the dentist Blush

Breezey · 27/01/2011 18:06

Congratulations Ledkr,
Needto, Your Bikini photo made me laugh, you must be very Wise and Brave !
Knitta, i suspect Perineal massage is overrated, I think what will be will be. So fed up with people asking WHEN ... obviously not yet then,
Also very envious of people who are making progress with names, starting to wish we knew what it was, (though I'd be to scared of them getting it wrong) the short list keeps expanding

WanderingSheep · 27/01/2011 18:06

I've been wondering that too angels also imagining the vacuum thingy!

I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow to discuss delivery options and size of baby. I'm really hoping they might give me a scan! Be nice to see the baby again!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 27/01/2011 18:55

When a friend of mine had her section the very cheeky surgeon said 'stand back, she's about to blow!' which her husband found very amusing, she DID NOT! I have wondered this myself though, they must have some kind of suction.

wiggles floradix is the saviour for many people! I hope it works for you! my mw checked to see if I could get it on prescription as it works so well for me, plus I like the taste!

knitta I stopped the massage when I got cystitis and never started again. I am planning to massage that bit with a bit of oil before pushing, or when they say you can feel the head for yourself, though for all the good it'll do... Hmm

Looks like I might have a ledkr style problem in that my brother might be coming to stay this weekend. As much as I love him I do not want him here when I'm in labour (he's 31 but still a smelly boy in my eyes!) so hoping he'll stay with my parents instead. He's having a relationship crisis and wants to get away poor thing.

Hope there's something good on telly tonight as it's all I'm capable of doing. Was going to bake something but really can't be bothered.

wandering I hope all goes well with consultant and you get to see your lo tomorrow!

PDR · 27/01/2011 20:01

Ledkr congratulations!!!!!!!! Hope you are feeling ok - thinking of you! How long do you have to stay in for?

Sorry I have been quiet - my iphone has gone for repair so not as easy to post anymore as have to be at the computer. Hopefully it will be back soon and I'll be back on form!

Had reflexology today and was wonderful - really recommend it if anyone is thinking about starting.

Grannyapple · 27/01/2011 20:41

Lol delia if only I was that witty-never occurred to me, but now that I have I think it is a very apt thread name :o

debka · 27/01/2011 21:09

PDR I was wondering where you were- no baby announcements then!

ledkr big congrats on your enormous daughter Wink enjoy your time just the 2 of you.

angels how odd, the attitude of your consultant seems so different to mine, mine couldn't get me booked for an induction quick enough!

We are also struggling a bit with names- there's one I really like but DH is not so keen on, and he has a few horrors too... Have to make our minds up SOON though- only 4 more sleeps!!!

ZeroMinusZero · 27/01/2011 21:35

Contrats ledkr and to everyone else who has popped recently and is about to pop :)

40Weeks · 27/01/2011 21:56

Hurrah for baby no name, well done ledders congrats to you and your family x

40Weeks · 27/01/2011 22:06

Oh and went to see the birthing unit at PRUH for those that were interested. It wasn't that impressive to be honest, just very similar to the hospital ward but midwife led and with no doctors. Only 2 of the 6 rooms had birthing pools so am sticking with home birth but glad i saw it and explored all options. Made me emotional though retracing steps from when ds1 was born as you go through the maternity ward to get there!

earlgreyismynectar · 27/01/2011 23:01

Congratulations Ledkr!!! Brilliant news! Enjoy every precious minute with your lovely girl!

All the best Debka! Exciting times!

Thanks for your birth story Varicose! Lovely to hear!

Sorry for being a stranger, too too busy for this late stage in pregnancy both house hunting and packing and sorting out car insurance after a Council recycling truck ploughed into the side of it...! Anyway! Been lovely to catch up with all your news. It's so tiring now isn't it? I've been lounging & snoozing as I've been needing it. Head still down, BH, and when I went to the loo in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago I realised I wad walking like John Wayne & yes the head had engaged! Yay! However by the time I got up in the morning it had disengaged! Hmm

Take care & take it very easy all of you :) look forward to more announcements soon!

tadjennyp · 27/01/2011 23:36

Gutted that I am still only 3 1/2 cm dilated - that's only 1cm more than 2 weeks ago! Really hoping that things will move this weekend as have had enough of being tired and sore now!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 28/01/2011 04:03

Anyone awake? I'm not sure if things have started to happen, I had medium strength period pains from about 5:30pm then was woken up at just after 2am with strong cramps and, sorry, loads of diarrhoea. Since then I've had a lingering period pain with sharper stronger cramps and back ache but not coming regularly. After googling I think it might be the early stage of labour, this can go on for ages right?

ledkr · 28/01/2011 04:30

Hi love, I'm awake if you want company. sounds promising, are you timing them? Nice warm bath be good, and eat,you may need fuel. baby is sleeping all night but I can't! typical, dh is bringing ear plugs and will babysit whilst I try tmw.I fell asleep once and woke myself up with a fart!
In answer to all your questions, they just stand back and let the water cascade out all over floor, mine caused much amusement.
I am proud of dh,mil decide she can't wait till next weekend and is coming this one, dh told her she is welcome but can't stay at ours cos too stressfull for me to come home sat to housefull of people. never believed he could do it. how's things need to?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 28/01/2011 04:48

hello! Smile just had another cramp, i'm almost scared to call them contractions in case it frightens them off. been vaguely looking at the clock and tht one was about 30 mins from the last.
i started doing housework but now half watching silent witness.
so pleased for you and your DH, looks like he's come through for you in the end! mu oh heard me pottering around and got up but i told him to get some sleep and i'd wake him when needed. bless him, he can't sleep though and is now watching telly.
you must feel so strange after everything today, it's no wonder you can't sleep! i hope everything is okay with baby no name Grin

WanderingSheep · 28/01/2011 07:00

Needto definitely sounds like early labour. It sound exactly like my labour with DD started. It sounds daft but try and ignore the "cramps" Wink and try to get some rest/sleep while you can. Keep mobile and get on with what you'd usually do. I've noticed that your last post is a couple of hours ago so with any luck you'll be a lot further by now! Grin Best of luck chic! Hopefully you'll have your lovely DS by the end of today, really exited! Grin

WanderingSheep · 28/01/2011 07:09

Good for your DH Ledkr! Glad he stuck up for you, I would be fuming to arrive home from hospital to house guests! How are you feeling?

janedoe25 · 28/01/2011 07:18

oohh needto sleep sounds promising! Hope u get to meet your little bundle soon.

Ledkr Glad that your DH has stood up to the in laws, better late than never eh?

Oneof4 · 28/01/2011 07:26

Oh goodness - another exciting day on the cards then! Fingers crossed needto.

Gold star for Ledkr's DH. :)
