Butterscotch!

And well done on the b feeding lady, it can really make all the difference to how you manage - you must feel very pleased!

40Weeks · 26/01/2011 20:27

Ha ha I had tesco pizza!

smallblackflowers · 26/01/2011 20:35

mmmmmm butterscotch - my favourite. we're not going to be winning any awards for nutritious eating tonight Grin

Re the bf lady - twas really good to be able to do something meaningful again - thanks Smile

Oneof4 · 26/01/2011 20:51

Blimey - so much news from everyone today! Best of luck tomorrow Ledkr - let us know how it goes as soon as you can!

God, I think I'm going to have to go get some Angel Delight whipped up now - haven't had any for ages! (and maybe crush up a mars bar on top too...)

40Weeks · 26/01/2011 20:57

A mars bar you say? Sinful!

So what's the protocol with moving from antenatal to postnatal thread, ladies? Are we allowed to lurk on postnatal? Due right at the end of the month sonno doubt will beyhe last one on here, amongst the tumbleweed!

wigglesrock · 26/01/2011 21:02

I have been quite ill from the weekend, and had to ring maternity unit to get a test result. When I rang I mentioned to midwife that vomiting was bad (even for me!) She told me to come down, the test result was inconclusive so I'd need to do it again anyway.

They decided to monitor me for a bit and scan baby, for one moment we all thought baby had turned breech again, but no its the right way just lying strangely. Two more scans than I've ever had before and still no idea about gender Grin Anyway everything is great with baby, I was allowed to go home after pleading, and the midwife rang with blood results about 30 mins ago.

All great, but then she said "we're a bit concerned because your blood count is low and we thought the iron tablets would have helped", well of course I replied (yes you can guess) "what iron tablets? First I've heard of it etc" Turns out Hmm should have been taking iron from dodgy blood result at 28 weeks (I'm now 37 weeks). Cue much indignation, apologies etc. Am slightly relieved because it does explain downturn in health, upturn in various symptoms since about 32 weeks. Besides Mr Wiggles and my Mum and being very attentive, although Mr Wiggles is doing a nice line in "told you so". He has been nagging quite concerned this week re my general health!!!

debka · 26/01/2011 21:06

angels at my 36wk scan abdomen circumference was 358.8mm. FWIW HC was 329.0, FL 69.6 and BPD 90.7. At 38wk scan AC had gone up to 386.0, but femur length had gone down Hmm so I do take it with a large pinch of salt.

Thanks everyone for good wishes :)

Felt pretty shocked when the dr said they wanted to induce at 39wks- tried to persuade her to let me go a bit longer but she wasn't having any of it. It's frustrating because they've finally diagnosed GD- if they'd done that earlier I would have been able to attend the diabetes clinic and have a chance to get my blood sugar under control. As it is it's too late to do anything. Just got told not to eat any sugar Hmm

Am getting used to the idea of being 4 of us so soon. DH has been his usual cross moany self complaining about how it's knocked his schedule out Shock but I'm used to that now, it's his (horrid) way of dealing with it. He has knuckled down and finished the baby's room today though (well, not decorated or anything but it does have a door now!), and I've got the clothes washed and dried. Feels so soon though- only four full days with just me and my little girl- feel a bit sad, I'll miss our times just the 2 of us.

Will stop waffling, glad all are well, wonder if anyone (except LEDKR of course) will beat me!!!

debka · 26/01/2011 21:08

wiggles just read your post- am very Shock at your iron tablets furore. They can be a bit rubbish can't they. Tut tut!!

Tarlia · 26/01/2011 22:09

Mmmmm, I love Angel Delight, especially banana! I think I might have to have some tomorrow now. Hope you both enjoyed!

Good luck with tomorrow, Ledkr. I look forward to hearing whether she looks like an Ivy or Deliah.

Awful about the iron muck up, wiggles. Glad bubs is behaving and staying head down!

Deb, how exciting about Monday. Hope you manage to get a bit of rest in and a few fun things over the next few days.

Angels, I hope you are ok. Hope they give you that Dr appointment soon as it's not fun being up in the air. It'll be fine, I'm sure. How exciting you may meet DD sooner rather than later!

Urk, my heartburn has been so bad the last two days, to the extent I feel I could be sick and cannot sleep :(. I'm blaming salad, so will be avoiding that for the duration.

wigglesrock · 26/01/2011 22:25

Oh just heard apparently Penelope Cruz has had a baby boy, (according to my high placed sources reading of gossip websites)

Thanks for all your good wishes, am off to sleep, but heartburn v bad tonight too tarlia

WanderingSheep · 26/01/2011 22:44

Just wanted to pop back and wish Ledkr good luck for tomorrow! I can't believe that this time tomorrow you will be holding your baby girl! I am really excited for you (and a little bit Envy ) Grin Grin.

Good luck for Monday Debka! Wow I can't believe how much is happening now!

Angels try not to worry. At least they are monitoring the baby's size and you are almost full term at 36+ weeks and could be very near to meeting your little one! Hope all goes well for you!

Wiggles I had similar re iron tablets (although not quite as bad as you) they took my blood and forgot to inform me that my iron was low and I needed tablets. I assumed all was fine as they hadn't said anything but it was only when I asked weeks later, the MW said "oh no your iron was low did they not ring you to pick up a prescription?" um... Noooo! Hmm

WanderingSheep · 26/01/2011 22:46

Congratulations Penelope, if you're reading Wink.

ledkr · 27/01/2011 00:29

WanderingSheep · 27/01/2011 06:53

Ledkr I'm sorry I didn't see your "terrified" thread. I've heard that elective CS are worlds apart from emergency ones. A lot calmer and controlled etc. Although perfectly normal to be worried about surgery. You probably won't see this post before you go to have your DD2 but we will be looking forward to updates later! Smile

debka · 27/01/2011 06:55

Morning all but particularly ledkr - are you at the hospital yet? I have to go in at 7.30 on Monday.

Woke up at 6.20 this morning with thimping headache, not like me at all, first one since pg I think. If I were at the hosp today I bet they'd send me for extra bloods and things but I'm NOT so I can just have a big drink of water like I really need! Anyone else find it hard to drink enough?

Sympathies with heartburn wiggles and tarlia, hope you slept well in the end.

GOOD LUCK today with consultant angels hope you get some sense out of her!

And big congrats, penelope !!!

ledkr · 27/01/2011 06:59

tadjennyp · 27/01/2011 07:08

My baby's dancing away inside at the moment and I can't believe you get to meet yours so soon ledkr! It's amazing! None of us ever stops worrying about something going wrong with our children, do we? You will be great. Good luck!

TallulahBelly14 · 27/01/2011 08:21

Just popped in to say good luck for today Ledkr, have overcome my jealousy that you're beating me to it.

And not sure if we've discussed this, but has anyone been through a natural back to back labour? The midwife reckoned last week that the baby's head was facing the wrong way so I'm now a bit panicked that a natural birth will be impossible. Am seeing the consultant later today so will ask, but thought some of you ladies might have a better idea...

roundthehouses · 27/01/2011 08:35

quick message to say good luck LEDKR! Thinking of you and will be waiting for news xxx

suzym1984 · 27/01/2011 08:43

Ledkr Good luck for today, I am so excited for you to meet your gorgeous little girl!

angels hope everything goes ok with the consultant, be sure to keep up informed.

tallulah A friend of mine had a back to back labour, her only child so nothing to compare it to, she said it was painful (as you would expect from all births)but it was natural and fine, no tearing etc.

Im going to the hospital today for a breastfeeding workshop, quite excited actually!

Deliaskis · 27/01/2011 09:14

Good luck for today ledkr, looking forward to hearing your news later or whenever you get a chance to update.

Debka will be thinking of you Monday!

wiggles sorry you've been ill, but glad baby is fine and you now know why you've felt rotten (not sure if that helps, but probably less worrying than mystery illness!).

angels good luck with consultant today, hopefully you will be able to feel more like there is a plan of action after today rather than yesterday where it was all a bit 'yikes'.

Really feeling like everything is getting close now. Had about 10 minutes sat in baby's room totally spaced out staring at all the baby stuff this morning (made me late leaving for work actually Blush), just thinking about how soon this tiny thing is going to consume our lives!

Was weird at the hospital when I had my scan yesterday, as there was a poster up for TENS hire, and it said available from 37 weeks, and I was asking the MW about it, as I know if I am in the pool I can't use one (natch!), but was wondering about getting one for home before I actually go in, and she was really blase about it 'yes just come back Saturday and pick one up', which again really brought it home that labour could be imminent! Obviously might also go nearly another 5 weeks if baby stays in to 42 weeks, but equally might not!

Am taking raspberry leaf capsules now, 2 a day, no idea if it will make a difference but can't do any harm!

Take care of yourselves ladies.

D

WanderingSheep · 27/01/2011 09:27

Tallulahbelly I think wiggles and sbf have both had natural back to back labours, both sounded very positive about them. DD was back to back but not natural as I had an epidural but it's very possible to hav a natural labour. Get on all fours and if you have a birthing/exercise ball get on that and hopefully baby will get into a better position.

Angels good luck with consultant!

wigglesrock · 27/01/2011 10:01

Tallulahbelly I had back to back labour with dd1 with no interventions - it was fine, maybe slightly longer than I expected bit I was a tad impatient Grin My friends baby changed from back to back literally as labour started so don't worry.

Just got iron supplement this morning, midwife told me to stay away from prescribed iron tablets because they can make some people sicky and I don't need any help with that Grin, so got some Floradix which she had suggested. Would have been cheaper to eat out on iron rich steaks for rest of pregnancy!!! I then looked at ingredients, 15 feckin' pounds for some carrot and nettle juice now I really do feel sick Grin

Thinking of you Ledkr - everything crossed

ledkr · 27/01/2011 10:13

HI all, am in my gown ready to go down, bit scared but excited, hungry and bored. very tired too. got weighed, I am bloody obese. arrrrgh
