Congratulations jeffily it all sounds incredible, you did amazingly well, and such a beautiful name for your daughter!

TooImmature2BMum · 21/02/2011 15:10

Your baby sounds adorable, jeffily - Leila is my sister's name and I've always liked it. Such a lovely story! I've gone all teary.

No news here - no contractions, no period pains, nothing! 38+4. Come on, baby!

My SPD is definitely in the groin rather than in the bump, if that helps. It's right at the front of the pubic bone. I can also sometimes feel/hear my pelvis grinding when I move (ewww!). I have the same thing with not being able to get comfy on the sofa, Catherine - the gym ball seems to freak my dog out a bit, though! He looks all nervous when I'm on it.

Good luck, Mendip and Sam!

EvianBaby · 21/02/2011 15:47

Ah congratulations again muser - what an amazing birth story!! I would like one like that! You sound wonderfully happy and Leila sounds like she's fitting in very well and you're adapting well to life with two children! Wishing your whole family a happy few first weeks. Take care. Oh and beautiful name!

Hope everyone else is well. I'm torn between trying to enjoy the last few weeks with DS, having some chance to rest etc and being so uncomfortable and cumbersome, excited to meet the baby etc. I'm not sure what I want! Not that we're given a choice though!

Can't believe it's Monday again and time for OBEM tonight, where are the weeks going?? Excited for this weeks arrivals, good luck again girls.

Jupiter118 · 21/02/2011 16:13

Hello all waves

Congrats again Jeffily - glad you are home now and beautiful name!

mendip & sam good luck for this week!!!!!

superpenguin LOL at Branston Pickles

Emma 4 year gap means don't need one here, but out in the street the Phil & Teds always looks good? I think Britax do something similar now as well.

Not much happening here - still have all of the cramps, BHs, unease, bowel looseness and lost a bit more plug/mucous on Sat, but doesn't seem to amounting to anything. Very tiring. Have slept lots today and was randomly very teary yesterday - not like me.

Pottered out a while ago, bought more mat pads (I am prepared and hopefully won't have to send DH to buy more this time!) and a packet of munchies - they are a bit of an obsession at the mo.

Horrid grey miserable weather - vile. Hoping spring might be on the way soon.

Hope all are ok.

x

Jenchandler · 21/02/2011 17:13

Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing OK. Lovely birth story Jeffily - made me a bit emotional. Beautiful name too.

All OK here - busy weekend spent visiting family and friends. Hubby enjoyed lots of wine on Sat night - was highly entertaining but exhausted now. the 3am singsong was not appreciated! So today, I have done very little except potter around the house.Reflux is getting pretty bad now - need some vanilla icecream i think. I sent hubby to get some the other day and he returned with some low fat icecream alternative. Doesnt seem to do the same job! Was less than impressed!

Looking forward to OBEM tonight. Can't be long until more birth announcements now! Take care all
xx

KPidgeon · 21/02/2011 18:14

Thanks Jeffily- for taking the time to let us know your experience. Must have been scary when she needed help breathing. So lovely to picture her next to you and your happiness now- I can't wait for that to become reality for me!

Leila Hope is a beautiful name.

On maternity leave now (phew) and my family came over today- I don't see my folks as often as I'd like as they live pretty far away. Was nice to see them but I sometimes think they are already "bored" by baby talk. I try not to harp on about it but with 5 weeks until due date there really isn't a lot else going on in my life! My little brother (late twenties) in particular does not seem to realise that having a baby is a pretty big deal to me. Hmm.. sorry. This is probably a hormonal rant, it's just easy to feel a bit vulnerable when your this big and waddly- and the baby's arrival is the main focus of your life isn't it.

Maybe they'll change a bit once he's here.

mendipgirl · 21/02/2011 18:25

Hi all. Waters broke at 2am so had the cs today instead! Am a very proud mother of a beautiful baby girl. She has fed well so far and sleeping at the moment. We are both exhausted. When my mum told dd I had had a baby she clapped her hands! Hopefully they will get to meet tomorrow. Will post more when I get home.

Good luck sam, hope your cs goes as well as mine!

Ps she is so gorgeous, didn't think it was possible to be as pretty as dd1 but dd2 is giving her a run for her money. Is there anything better in the world than being a mum?

pettyprudence · 21/02/2011 18:57

Congratulations mendipgirl glad DD2 arrived safe and sound and it sounds like you're doing well too!

3 girls in a row! shall we start a sweepstake then on when the first boy will make an appearance?

spilttheteaagain · 21/02/2011 18:57

Congratulations mendip! Lovely news. Does she have a name yet? How big was she? Hope you can both go home soon and settle in Smile

StrangewaysHereICome · 21/02/2011 19:20

Oooh mendip you've made me fill up Smile. Many congratulations to you all. What a lovely thing to say - being a mum is definitely the best Grin.

jeffily what a lovely birth story, although it must have been extremely scary when she needed help. Leila is a beautiful name. Iam so pleased for you after all the worry you had in the beginning. Take care x

No more signs from me - a crampy niggly night but this doesnt mean anything!! I have been doing housework, looking after the kids and went for a long walk ... we'll see what happens. On Saturday the mw started talking about sweeps and inductions - please noooo too scary Confused!

jeffily · 21/02/2011 19:27

Thanks all for your congrats! Had a very happy day today and hoping for a bit more sleep tonight. Just a quick check in before back to BFing!

Massive congrats mendipgirl, hope you are enjoying a lovely, lovely babymoon!

emma31177 · 21/02/2011 19:55

congrates mendipgirl and family xx its getting closer and closer for the rest of us

Hattie05 · 21/02/2011 20:26

Hi all.

Congratulations mendipgirl! and thank you Jeffily for the lovely birth story - glad all is well now x

Can't remember who asked about double buggy's - but i agree it totally depends on your lifestyle. I have a school walk to do twice a day so my priority is easy to push - large wheels - we've bought the Phil and Teds which so far is great as a single - can't wait to use as a double!Grin initially i was reluctant to get it because the one in the back seems a bit cramped and now view, but i decided ease of pushing around was priority esp. as i have arthritis.

I did briefly use a side by side umbrella buggy i'd been given, when i had dd3 and dd2 was still only 3 and sometimes couldn't make the afternoon walks to school. But it was hard work to push. But if you are only going to use it for a short time, and only for brief trips here and there, its probably the better option - certainly cheaper! Our dd3 is still only 14 mths so we know we'll get plenty of use from the phil and teds to be worthwhile.

OOOh prettyprudence i'm expecting a boy i hope its me! Grin Yesterday i had a complete false alarm, i spent all day cramping, contracting by 11.30 last night i took a shower and expected to get out and be calling the midwife, but everything miraculously stopped and i went to bed! I was disappointed to wake up this morning realising i could still another 2/3 weeks to go!

Had a lovely start to the halfterm with my girls though - don't know why people complain about school holidays, i adore the relaxed feel there is without school runs, and having all my dd's around me.Smile

30 mins til OBEM! bet we'll all be watching that!

Night all x

TooImmature2BMum · 21/02/2011 20:36

Congratulations mendip! How lovely. Smile

Kagey · 21/02/2011 20:47

Another baby!!! Congrats Mendip on your little girl :)

niamh29 · 21/02/2011 22:06

Congrats mendip, we're all jealous of these wonderful births, let's hope things continue to run as smoothly as they have started.

I have a scan on Thursday and I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. Will let y'all know if I have any news.

1Catherine1 · 21/02/2011 22:19

Congrats Mendip! Another girl :) How exciting.

Just had my last NCT class, was nice and relaxing - am enjoying half term and have a hell of a list of things to do this week.

Looking forward to more good news this week.

EvianBaby · 21/02/2011 22:22

Sorry I meant Jeffily!

Congratulations of course to Muser but in my last post I did mean Jeffily! Baby brain...

sam26oscar · 21/02/2011 22:25

Ahh well done Mendipgirl actually quite jealous you had yours early!!!! I am on countdown til thurs but it is sooo far away for me!!!

Thank you all for your good lucks..i am just starting to admit its going to be here in a few days!!! I am quite scared to be honest as to how i'm going to feel when s/he arrives, as it has been me and DS for 6.5 yrs and don't know how i will feel, i just can't imagine life with a new baby....maybe a bit late for that now Wink

Glad we are all so close to being on or very close to starting mat leave now...although i haven't actually had much rest what with it being half term!! I have stocked up the freezer with lots of meals including the potatoes and veg so there will be no messing around with peeling and cooking etc!! just zap it in the micro Grin

well, am very uncomfortable sat on sofa so am off to bed to see if i can be a little more comfortable there instead!! I doubt it, after being asleep for 3 hrs i will be up for about 2 hrs before i can drop off again Sad bloody insomnia!!!

So goodnight all xx

EvianBaby · 21/02/2011 22:30

Oh just read the rest of the posts since mine (and coming on to modify my mistake over the names) and realised we have another baby! Yay!

Huge huge congratulations mendip - I am thrilled for you! Looking forward to hearing her name, weight etc when you get chance! Fab news!

These March babies don't like to wait around do they? I hope it's a continuing theme, i'm 37+4 today and feel ready to have him/her (emotionally if not physically!)

Keep these babies coming!

Purplefan · 21/02/2011 22:53

Thanks for sharing your birth story Jeffily your little lady already leading you a merry dance, what with arriving early and worrying you with the breathing!! Glad all is well with you Smile

Huge congrats to Mendip with our latest arrival!!

I had major bathroom cleaning session today - not sure if it was 'nesting' or just that it needed a bloody good clean! Wink

edeluna · 22/02/2011 07:41

Congratulations, Jeffily. What a lovely story. Glad to hear everything's going fine and you're so happy.

Hope all the new mums are doing great!

edeluna · 22/02/2011 07:42

And congrats to Mendip too!!!

sittinghippo · 22/02/2011 08:17

Congratulations Mendip. Enjoy your DDs!

38weeks tomorrow, and Maternity leave starts Friday... cant bloody wait!

Larty74 · 22/02/2011 08:31

Congratulations Mendip on your beautiful baby girl! So pleased everything went well for you. Can't wait to hear details.

Getting very anxious over here!!! Saw GP yesterday and said he's not too big and not too small. Just what I want to hear! Now COME OUT! Grin
