Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KLou111 · 03/02/2011 20:56

Re the folic acid, I'm taking Pregncare, which has got all of your vitamins that you need, and it does have folic in, so if you are still taking it, there is no problem.

Hope everything goes well at your scan KT

KLou111 · 03/02/2011 21:00

Just read on our dating list about Tokyo's MMC.
If you are still reading this thread, I am so so so very sorry, take care of yourself. Huge hugs xxxxx

LifeOfKate · 03/02/2011 21:53

Sorry to hear about Tokyo's MMC :( Take Care xxx

Glad you were ok after your accident, Rehune, I had a car accident at 28 weeks with DS, it's very worrying!

LadyGG - well done on the weaning, I'm still on the fence about whether to wean or whether to tandem feed... eeek!

WRT finding out the sex of the baby, I don't want to, we didn't with DS and it was lovely not knowing (i am a very patient person :)), but I sort of agreed that it would be DH's decision this time and I think he would like to know. I think if we do find out, we won't tell anybody, as I do think it's far more exciting when hearing about someone elses new baby to not know the sex before the birth :) With one of my best friends, I knew the sex and the name of her DS and it sounds awful, but it felt like a bit of an anticlimax when he was born Confused

I've got my scan tomorrow morning, hope everything's still ok. I think it will be fine, as I have already seen the baby and my waistline is definitely expanding, but there's still always that anxiety isn't there :( Will be a bit more relaxed once I'm feeling the baby move regularly!

Rehune · 03/02/2011 22:57

littlemisslozza Thanks for changing my dates on our dating thread. It just felt nice seeing it!

tokyotwist thinking of you. So very sorry. Hope you are ok

LifeOfKate Good luck for your scan tomorrow x

wishwales · 04/02/2011 03:40

I am concerned because my boobs are no longer sore or even tender. How is everyone else with this??

bunnyfrance · 04/02/2011 07:59

tokyo, so sorry to hear about your MMC Sad

annie, just to let you know you're not alone - I've also got an abscess, on my breast. They're going to decide this afternoon whether to operate or not. It would be under general anaesthetic and I'm very worried about the baby. What kind of anaesthetic did you have? Hope you're feeling better now!

Also have my 12-week scan today, hooray! At least that's something to look forward to Smile

KTisPG · 04/02/2011 08:00

Morning all
wishwales my boobs aren't sore any more either - was in agony a couple of weeks ago. They are HUGE though - got definite clevage for a change Grin
Life of Kate Good luck with your scan today

Rozeeglow · 04/02/2011 08:04

Hi wish, my boobs go through phases. They're not tender at all at present but they've definitely increased in size. OH is impressed but he can stay that way - at a distance! Grin Try not to worry too much.

littlemisslozza · 04/02/2011 08:07

wishwales I haven't had any boob growth or soreness, everyone is different. My symptoms started to ease off though at around 10weeks and I felt quite normal again. Started to think I'd dreamt it up but the scan showed a wriggly baby so that was good! Symptoms come and go in my experience, I wouldn't worry.

LadyGoneGaga · 04/02/2011 08:36

So sorry to hear about your MMC, Tokyo. It's so sad Sad

Kate my supply had almost dried up anyway so I think he had decided was more effort than it was worth. We just cuddle to sleep instead now so still lovely time together Grin. How is your supply bearing up?

Wish is normal at this stage for boobs to be less sore. We are entering a horrible in between stage where you don't really feel very pregnant, not very big and no big movements. You start to worry whether you actually dreamt it all!

Firawla · 04/02/2011 08:43

tokyo im so sorry :(

rehune glad to hear everything is okay

MrsStevo · 04/02/2011 09:47

Morning All!

I have the first potential TMI query for the day! I mentioned a while ago about 'discharge' (at that point it was white, stringy etc ... no probs) well. Now it is kind of orangey coloured!! Not red / brown or looking in any way bloody, I'm not cramping or having any pains, so I'm not taking another trip to Fret City, but I wondered if anyone else has had this? I'm 11w3 today if that makes any difference to your answers!

Good luck for today bunny hope your scan goes well! Look forward to reading good news later today :)

bunnyfrance · 04/02/2011 09:53

Ummm, mrsstevo could it be the colour of your knickers disguising the colour of the discharge? I have a beige pair that does that...makes things look orange Blush

MrsStevo · 04/02/2011 09:57

Lol! Nope! Deffo not the knickers - it was when I was wiping after what must have been about my 18th wee for the morning Grin

bunnyfrance · 04/02/2011 10:11

Oh I see...or could it be the colour of the loo roll?? Panic not, I'm sure it's nothing!

KTisPG · 04/02/2011 10:46

Thanks MrsVidic. I'm not sure they are allowed to take me off a project just in case I get ill though? Surely that would be discrimnation because I'm pregnant - I'm not ill and there are no medical reasons for me not to be involved. Obviously if I do have complications that would be a different matter, but this is my third and I was perfectly healthy with the other two so no reason to think I won't be now IYSWIM. Am I just being hormonal?

Teladi · 04/02/2011 10:55

KT I don't think you're just being hormonal, I'm not an expert either but that doesn't sound right at all. If I were you I would have a chat with HR - playing it cool first off 'I didn't realise they were allowed to do that' etc and see what they say.

Firawla · 04/02/2011 10:55

mrs stevo if you see midwife i would maybe ask about the orange it does sound a little strange but maybe there is some kind of explanation, have you eaten a lot of orange colour food or anything?? like when babies get beetroot wee after parents try them on beetroot and sometimes the parents freak out when seeing the nappies gone pink and red

nickstermum · 04/02/2011 12:12

mrsS it could be that you have a little infection? I have just been swabbed for a little bacterial infec (caused believe it or not by bubble bath) and its something i have been prone to since i MC last august. My (TMI Blush) has varied from clear, to white to pale yellow to pale green then back to clear again. GP said its def the sign of something but could just be a bacterial imbalance of the feminine 'flora'!!!

I would go get swabbed (vag not cervical) to be on the safe side.

nickstermum · 04/02/2011 12:20

Tokyo im so so sorry to hear your sad news. I really hope you are ok, allow yourself time to grieve and come to terms with your loss xx

My boobs arent so tender now but they are heavy and hot. and very veiny still which is great Grin (not bad for a flattie!)

trying to work but my 7kilo cat is draped over my work.... gah!! hes so snuggly :)

littlemissw · 04/02/2011 13:02

LifeOfKate I really wouldn't worry about weaning. Your milk will turn to colostrum before the baby is born & this generally puts them off. I bf DD1 until I was 7 months pg and she weaned herself. It was a bit tiring towards the end, but we both loved it so I didn't feel the need to take it away from her.

littlemissw · 04/02/2011 13:04

Good luck with your scans today ladies! I can't wait for mine on Monday ... 3 more sleeps :)

MrsVidic · 04/02/2011 13:20

tokyo so sorry for you loss

Well i have had an eventful morning. Whilst out on a run i missed my phone going off and returned to see a missed call and voice mail. It was from my doctor regarding my urine sample. I then spent 40 mins trying to return the call to find out what was wrong- to find i have a urine infection and have to be on anit biotics- which was a relief as I was imageoning something really bad

I can feel the baby flutter all the time at the moment- its really reassuring! I asked dd what was in mummys tummy and she replied 'poo!' so i think its going to be a while before the whole baby concept sinks in with her!

I think im going to have to spill the beans at work now as I'm showing a bump already and I'm known as the new girl who never stops eating. My boss keeps asking me where I put all the food! I really hope they dont sack me / make me redundant as I am doing well and its really good hours- 17.5.

Has anyone got a mouth watering moist cake/ brownie recepie? Either chocolate or carrott? I've started to rename saturday as baking day Biscuit and need ideas x Grin

bettyboo83 · 04/02/2011 13:37

Big Grin at your dd's response MrsV, she's right in a way, lol.

This brownie recipe is fab:

175g marg; 350g caster sugar; 1tsp vanilla extract; 3 eggs; 125g plain flour; 1 tsp baking powder; 50g cocoa; 175g walnuts

  • pre-heat oven to 180C (sorry no degree symbol!)
  • Melt marg in saucepan. Stir in sugar and vanilla
  • Add whisked eggs slowly
  • Sieve in flour, baking powder and cocoa
  • Chop walnuts and stir into mixture
  • Bake for 40mins

Don't be tempted to cook it for longer, even if it seems soft in the middle. It'll continue to cook after and it'll be nice and squidgy Smile

Hello to everyone else. Sorry for lack of posts, I've been ill with a cold, cough and ear infection plus on nights at work so have been feeling very sorry for myself. I've been keeping up with everyone's news though, lovely to hear of all the positive scans.

I've got my second appt with my midwife on Thursday and she's coming to my house! Bless her! I think this is for routine bloods and yet another bloody urine sample. Does anyone know if they listen to the heartbeat yet or is it too early? I'll be 13+4.

Sorry to hear your sad news Tokyo, we're all thinking of you xxx

CappuccinoCarrie · 04/02/2011 13:40

So :( tokyo :(

I've got RSI in my redial finger and the button on the phone is wearing out. I finally got through yesterday, to be told they have a backlog of 100 ladies, and my notes haven't been processed yet. I was very calm and nice (well as much as I could be!) and said it had been a fortnight since I'd booked in with the midwife and I'm already 12 weeks and am concerned about getting a dating scan in time. She wrote down my details and said they'd bring my notes to the top and I was to ring back today. Which is what I've been trying to do for the last hour Angry. They said yesterday they have got some appointments in a hospital in a neighbouring town on the 17th, so hopefully if they've processed my notes and I actually get through today, I could have one of those. I'll be 13+6 so not as bad as the 16wk when I had my first scan with DS! If only the midwife could book the appt when you book in, it would all be so much easier!
My boobs are actually killing me now. I tried one of my maternity bras yesterday but it was massive - too big around rib cage and (.)(.)s. I guess I might have to buy some in between ones?
Gonna look on ebay for leggings Grin
