Welcome and congrats astar your scan sounds lovely :)

Re convo about freenappies.co.uk the other day. I signed up and my referral link is freenappies.co.uk/index.php?referral=205217
I think if you click on the link, it automatically sends you there.
If everyone does one each, then we'll all get a box :)
You also have to complete 'an offer', ie sign up to something. One of them is sign up to Lovefilm for a 14 day free trial, which I have done as it's free!

MrsStevo · 27/01/2011 18:27

I think there should be a new rule around here. Newbies should be made to join the bottom of the list so those of us who have been near the bottom for ages don't get so grumps about the fact that we've been on here longer and are still at the back of the EDD line!

Welcome astar anyway! Great to hear you've had a happy scan day!

And YOU Betty congrats on what must have been an awesome day! Bet you're on cloud nine! But I'm also grumps that you've jumped ahead a few days as well.

I WANNA BE DUE AT THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST. Waaaaaaaaah

Should be 11 weeks today but am only 9 + 5 according to last scan. 4 sleeps til the next scan though! (sorry if this countdown is getting ridiculously tedious for everyone else)

daisysair · 27/01/2011 18:34

kate I'm really struggling today with the pregnancy yuckiness too. For me the pregnancy symptoms on top of my existing health probs have meant i've spent so much time in bed since xmas that i'm getting pretty fed up. You're not alone and am kind of glad someone else has piped up as it makes me feel less alone (not that i want others to feel fed up...)

how old is your DS? fingers crossed they let the 3 of you in (you could always say DH will leave with DS if DS becomes too fidgety?)

congrats to betty and astarwithherownways for the scans today!!

RugbyWidow7 · 27/01/2011 19:05

That's funny MrsStevo and I'm with you! Don't really like being at the end of the queue and the last to have the 12 week scan!!! It's taking forever to come, BUT I did have my MW consultation yesterday, which was brilliant. She was lovely and it was soo good to be able to talk about the preg properly at last and to ask 100s of questions. Starting to feel so excited now, esp as the tiredness seems to have lifted a bit...

(ooh that sounds wrong sorry)

kathpeak · 27/01/2011 19:22

Hey kate and daisyair...

I am totally with you on not being a good pregnant person. Last time round I has morning sickness for 5 months with a bad back, tendonitis, swollen limbs, constipation, heartburn, migraines... the usual panoply of complaints that come with being pregnant. I'm afraid I was very grumpy and fed up with it all. Not being in the least bit in control of my body was no fun at all.
Luckily, I didn't have have anything that was dangerous for the baby's health or mine. But that meant I felt guilty for being a misery.
This time round it should be better I think. The morning sickness is easing off already and I have a 2 year old running around to keep me busy and positive.

Glad to hear about all the scans that have been and those soon to come. It all feels so much more real when you can see the little peanuts on the screen.

Hersetta · 27/01/2011 19:27

I know how you feel ladies as my DD was due on August 30th (arrived on the 31st) so I felt a bit jealous of all those early ladies - it felt like their pregnancies went much quicker than my own!! You'll just have to be at the front of the queue for your next one!!

Feral - i like the Rosie a lot. The consultants are really nice and I like the fact that there are a lot of older mums so it doesn't make me feel so ancient. My nearest hospital is actually Harlow but they have a lot of very, very young Mum's there and I'm sure I would be mistaken for a granny if I went there!

OP posts:
Firawla · 27/01/2011 19:31

life of kate hope they let your dh and ds both in the scan, seems a bit mean not too. everyone waiting for scans when i went seemed to be taking toddlers in and noone said anything, i took 2 in and they didn't complain so seems a bit much if some hospitals are banning them
sorry to hear your feeling so crap, atleast it might seem to go quicker than your last pregnancy though i think the 1st ones always go by slower? (well for me anyway)

mrsvidic i may use your grazebox code just going to have a look now if i can work it out

nickstermum · 27/01/2011 19:33

MrsS you will be having yours at the beginning og Aug, you are having two!!!! Doh Grin

Yukana · 27/01/2011 19:49

Have been reading people's posts but today not good of thinking replies up it seems. :(

I have my scan tomorrow, and honestly? I'm terrified. I'm really worried something will go wrong and the baby will be... I don't want to say it. I wish I didn't even think about it.
My health before I was pregnant for a few years was not good, and my iron levels have always been low, I've always been told by my family to take supplements, etc. I take folic acid and iron daily now, but I still worry that my health just before I found out that I was pregnant, will affect the baby. I don't mind sharing this right now, I have an anxiety disorder and I'm terrible when it comes to worrying. I will worry about anything and everything. Things are a little better now that I don't have so much time to think too much, but still, I'm a hopeless worrywart.

LittleBeaut · 27/01/2011 19:51

Selina congrats on your results!! I got mine today (was expecting them next week) and I also came back low risk - phew!! Grin

Also congrats to all the scans that have gone well today... I cant wait for my next scan 18th March cant come quick enough and seems sooo far away Sad

littlemisslozza · 27/01/2011 19:55

lifeofkate at my hospital they allow children in for the 12 week scan if you haven't got any other option, but they won't allow them in for the 20 week scan due to it being more detailed and not wanting distractions, which seems fair enough.

LittleBeaut · 27/01/2011 20:16

Argh ladies please help me, please, please, please????? I have a hospital appointment first thing in the morning and I need to take my early morning wee with me and dont have a sample bottle... what can I put it in. There is a fair old walk (well 10 mins) from where I park to the hospital and I will have my notes to take with me so dont want owt to big. Milk bottle no good because I only get 4 pinters like haha. God how daft am I?? x

bellamysbride · 27/01/2011 20:16

Whoever suggested hot cordial, thank you so much. It is a revelation. After liking no fluids I am really enjoying hot apple cordial. Thank you, thank you.

Another non blooming pregnant girl here. Off to hibernate in a pregnancy induced grump clutching my cordial Smile

bellamysbride · 27/01/2011 20:18

Jam jar LittleBeaut?

And how do you keep all your little ones quiet in scan appointments, or is my DS just spectacularly badly behaved?

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 27/01/2011 20:29

Yukana I so know how you are feeling. I have unusually high stress and anxiety reactions due to various bad shit in my life, and I was absolutely cacking it pretty much the entire last 12 weeks. Right up till I saw that wriggler on the screen, I couldn't bring myself to even get excited because it felt like tempting fate. It is shit, I know, BUT personally I think you'll be back on here tomorrow beaming over the lovely little one you've seen on screen :)

Re. your health, if it's any reassurance, I had an awful few years before DS was conceived - in fact the year he was made started off as the worst year of my life - horrible family bereavement followed by drinking too much and general failure to look after myself. He is practically perfect in every way Grin Blush despite being conceived in a month during which I was drunk practically every day (my birthday/Christmas, so not quite as bad as it sounds).

Chin up chuck :)

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 27/01/2011 20:32

Just adding myself in, sorry MrsS! Although I do know what you mean; DS was due at the end of a month and I got so fed up watching all my antenatal pals win their babies while I was grumping around feeling like a zeppelin.

Spots! Does anyone have any secret well tested remedies? I have now developed fully fledged adult acne, as I can honestly say they are the biggest and most frequent spots I have ever had in my life!!

I really hope this is just a phase! Getting through bucket loads of spot gel and make-up.

Confused

Tea tree oil dabbed onto spots dries them out pretty quick. I've heard Sudocrem works too, but haven't tried it myself.

Thanks starwithherownways - I'm willing to try anything as the usual clinique stuff isn't zapping fast enough and I look ridiculous!

yes no blooming here either bellamy and yes, rugby I seem to have the most nasty spots ever too, and at least 3 at a time. As soon as one lot clears up there's a new crop in their place. Oh that and the excessively greasy hair. Nice..

Fortunately I work at home most of the time so just the dog and DH that I have to worry about seeing me in my sorry state Grin
