New thread here for those final few weeks (fingers crossed!)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Crystylline · 23/01/2011 20:12

eat the frosties!!

although i've had a yummy dinner, i'm fully intending on spoiling it with popcorn and other white, sugary, starchy crap that is bad for me.

oooh... are we having a cervix dilating race now too?

is there a queue for this as well ?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 23/01/2011 20:23

I like to win at everything crystyll - my motto is "it isn't the taking part that counts, it's the winning" Hmm Wink

RockLover · 23/01/2011 21:09

I've had my pasta (which I could only eat half of before feeling sick, which always happens with my evening meal). However I felt better pretty quickly and have just necked half a tube of Pringles Blush.

I have caved in after all these mentions of Frosties and have purchased a huge family size pack (and a pint of full fat milk). Lardarse, moi?? Grin

DP is out for an hour or so with his friend so I get the tv to myself, yay!

If there is a race for cervix dilation, after my previous effort with DD I can guarantee I will lose big time!

Fuzzywood · 23/01/2011 21:14

Ooh always up for a race me! My children on the other hand.....Grin
On my second mini roll after having yet another Krispie cake and a few squares of chocolate, maybe all that sugar will prompt something to happen.

saltnvinigarcrips · 23/01/2011 21:18

gallic an ice cold bowl of frosties sounds fantastic. I only have cocopops :( Think I will order some tomorrow when doing online shop.

I have an appointment on Tuesday when I will be 40 + 3. Will they give me a sweep then do you think or will they just do wee check and bp and book me in for a sweep at a later date do you think? I have no idea!

Starting to get fed up of texts and facebook comments now. Like I have nothing better to do other than text people and return wall comments 'no not in labour yet'....... well i suppose I don't have anything better to do but it's just bloody annoying!! Bear

RockLover · 23/01/2011 21:18

Seems all of us can't stop eating junk. Please tell me you aren't all skinny and glowing with beauty Envy. I have a horrible flabby bit at the base of my bump which wobbles disgustingly...urgh!

I haven't had my hair cut since the summer due to feeling too sick to sit in a salon, I have given up wearing make up and I live in jeans and leggings. Oh and I have a double chin developing. And I still can't stop eating junk...argh!!!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 23/01/2011 21:26

Aarghh DH is making me watch what lies beneath and one of our cats, who never miaows, just jumped out of her sleep and miaowed madly at a really scary part of the film. Blinking Nora I'm pathetic, but I'm off to bed. Can't be watching this, especially when I like baths so much currently :o

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 23/01/2011 21:28

salt I know how you feel - I've given up answering skype and texts as to whether this baby's made an appearance yet. sigh.

Fuzzywood · 23/01/2011 21:32

Salt where I am they don't do a sweep until 41 weeks, having mine 41+1. May be worth asking your mw though if you'd like to try it.
Rock I'm still waiting for the pregnancy glow to kick in, thinking it ain't going to happen Smile and I'm desperately in need of a hair cut, also the flabby bit of belly I never quite got rid of the first time that has now moved attractively up to the top of my bump. It will go away after this one

RockLover · 23/01/2011 21:49

I have told DP in no uncertain terms that I will look hideous after birth with the deflated, uncooked pizza dough belly and hugely swollen legs.

When I came out of hospital with DD my legs were soooo huge that I could not fit trousers on and I had to wear slippers to the car in the snow as my elephant feet wouldn't fit into normal footwear. The swelling did go down after a week or so, but urgh!

DP chooses to not believe that I will look like like a complete wreck, but at least I can say I have warned him!

I am hoping to God that I can lose some of this fat and tone up after the baby is out. DP would not allow me to throw out my old size 12 clothes, but I kknow the chances of using any of them again for a good few years is NILL!

saltnvinigarcrips · 23/01/2011 23:13

Ha bubba i'm watching 'What lies beneath too'. It's going to be a bit creepy making my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night now :( Watched a scary vampire film earlier today too. Why do I do it to myself?

Rock i'm sure your dp won't even notice how you will look post birth and i'm sure you'll be glowing with new babe anyway. My only exercise plan post birth is to go for lots of nice walks round the parks with my baby and bugaboo bee. Ooh i'm so excited at the thought Grin :)

CupcakesHay · 23/01/2011 23:19

Aaah - girls, pleased to see you haven't been sitting on your arses watching TV whilst i've been pub quizzing (came 2nd) - you've been sitting on your arses MN-ing! ha ha!

Going to google bishops score in a minute.

And whoever had noodles (lost track) - shame on you for not finishing them. but i'm only saying that cos it feels like forever since I had anything but potatoes for dinner! aah - fussy parents.

Pleased it's your choice crysty over the whole doing it alone thing. At least you don't have to bloody ask someone's opinion on high chairs and the like! Or more importantly deal with an annoying MIL! Grin

Ok - so sweeps - I'm not due to see my M/W til 40+4 - so if i want a sweep - do I just call them on 40+1 and demand one??? The m/w told me they can do it anytime from 40 weeks - but i forgot to ask the actual procedure...

Oh - and proud of you for not cleaning car crysty

I'm like you rock - actually getting a bit concenred (even for me) about the amount of crap i've been eating later... it seems absurd that I can eat that much chocolate. It's just def be so much worse in the last few weeks.

As for pregnancy glow, I feel good and look OK (glow-wise) - but then again, you have to remember I was ill for so long that it'd be like comparing a Zombie (ill-me) to Vanessa Feltz (pregnant-me)

I have to say i'm getting FAR too excited about seeing DH on weds now. 13.06 train.... oh - and hopefully Krispy Kremes... and McD for lunch! Ha ha - more junk food!

I'm panicked i've been mentally telling my body to hold on to baby til 1st Feb - and now i'm panicking what happens if it decides to do the whole 40+12! EEEEeeek Shock

As for labour - trying not to think about it as still worried afetr my consultation when they were quite adamant that "my body type" - ie Fat - isn't particularly suited to getting an epidural in.... so i'm praying that either baby pops out or I cope on gas and air.

Oh - and Grin love the "the head's just fine" comment bubba!

Oh - and my parents have got TV on and it's American Pie - so keeping my head firmly on laptop - and trying to ignore them giggling at the w-nking scenes, etc Blush - i feel like a teenager!

gallicgirl · 23/01/2011 23:20

Just show your DP your huge baps and he won't notice the rest Wink

I ate the frosties but did go for a 30 minute walk first as I was feeling pretty restless. Should ensure a decent night's sleep if nothing else. I'm impressed you're all so susceptible to my culinary suggestions :)

Ryuk · 24/01/2011 00:20

Aah I leave you all for five minutes and suddenly there's a new thread and hundreds of posts. Feh. Could someone summarise what I missed? Latest stats?

We now have the birth pool in the living room and have practised putting it up, it all seems to work but seems to start losing air after about half an hour, not sure whether to worry about that or not though as if it is it's on a really gradual scale. Still kinda worrying though.

Also people keep asking if I'm excited, and/or mocking me for not being scared. It's probably hormones but I'm reeallly easily annoyed by these things lately. Confused

Ryuk · 24/01/2011 00:24

Oh also, saltnvinigar, my cousin has phoned twice now to ask if we've had the baby yet. This is also annoying!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 24/01/2011 04:16

Anyone awake?

Pootle78 · 24/01/2011 05:54

Morning ladies, checking in now as going to have some shreddies then heading back to bed!

Welcome back ryuk ! Am posting on phone so can't link the stats but think we have had 3 new babies since this thread started, about 7 ladies are now overdue, ami may or may not have been induced yesterday for high blood pressure and there has been lots of talk about eating crap, not doing ironing and coating your cervix with seamen to try and get things going! Shock also there is now talk of not queue jumping due to number overdue and bubba is adamant she will have this baby after her spa treatment today! Grin

cupcakes was very good at taking notes the other day so if I've missed anything I'm sure people will let you know!

Catch up with you all later!

mimou · 24/01/2011 06:07

Hello,

I'm awake. Got up to feed the baby but he steadfastly isn't interested, despite me having one nork like a bag of marbles. I've been expressing and letting DH do the last feed of the evening so I can get a bit more sleep and am beginning to wonder if he's drugged the poor child while I wasn't there. It's surely not normal for a newborn to sleep this long without eating Confused.

Guess I'll try to go back to bed safe in the knowledge that I won't be able to sleep with what feels like a hot bowling ball stuck to my chest.

RunningKatie · 24/01/2011 07:38

And I'm now officially overdue, hmph. I was running dates past the bump last night whilst having a bath and s/he kicked when I mentioned Wednesday so I'm pencilling myself in for then!

Couldn't sleep last night, getting increasingly uncomfortable/tetchy so got up for some weetabix at 6am.

Cupcakes, here they sweep at 40+5 ish, so I'm booked in for Friday, then induce at 40+12. I have to go to a clinic for the sweep as my usual CMW has had the nerve to book this week off.

Fuzzywood · 24/01/2011 08:24

Morning, just checking in, no sign of any movement, just want this baby out now!
Lovely to hear from you Mimou, how old is your little one now?
Hi Ryuk, do you have a puncture kit handy for your pool? Grin What's your due date? Just remember no queue jumping allowed!
Better get up and have some breakfast, DD is with DMIL today so I can take it easy which is a relief as I'm shattered.

mimou · 24/01/2011 09:05

He's 1 week and three days.

Turns out the lack of appetite was perfectly reasonable. DH had been up with him until 3am which is when he had his last feed! Poor DH - I was completely oblivious and dead to the world. Thought he'd come to bed about 12.30-1 as usual. Blush

RockLover · 24/01/2011 09:20

Morning ladies!

Oh God I am soooo fed up with peeing constantly through the night, I want to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time!

I am supposed to have a mw appt this week, but not sure if I'm supposed to make an appt or if the mw will call me (like my last appt). So I've left a message with them, but tbh, they very rarely call back. I decided to call the surgery and make my own appt, they can't see me til Thurs which is my due date...eeek!

Not sure whether to go back to bed for a little bit as I'm very tired. Trouble is I often feel 10 times worse if I try to go back to sleep. It's not fair :(.

Plus I'm sick of daytime tv, I think I will go mad if I have to watch anymore of it!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 24/01/2011 09:42

I'm with you on the boredom front rock I've resorted to playing reversi online >>pathetically sad loser emoticon

RockLover · 24/01/2011 09:59

I'd love to just hibernate for the rest of this pregnancy, I want to be woken up when it's time to get baby out and that'll do me fine.

I think the waiting and not knowing when things are going to happen is the hardest thing to deal with. I have taken to telling myself that whatever happens, in 3 weeks I will have had this little boy and they pregnancy will be over.

But I'm still fed up of waiting for it to all happen. Plus I have started worrying (irrationally) that there will be something wrong with the baby, or something will go wrong during the birth. Does anyone else get silly thoughts like this?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 24/01/2011 10:11

Grrrrrrr Angry four texts in the last half hour asking how I am (sub-text for have you had your baby yet?). AIBU to ignore them entirely.

God I'm grumpy today. I'll hibernate away with you rock and yes, I get silly thoughts all the time about whether all's okay, and as you know, the worrying doesn't stop once they're out! Why do we do this to ourselves?!?!
