Wow Jasmine. What a shame as I know you said it was really good. Hope some of you ladies manage to grab a bargain.

nomorechoc where are you thinking of moving to? I try to only read the posts that I know won't stress me out :) good for practising your breathing technique though. :o

crumble Definitely see your point. I thought that myself until realising how incredibly expensive life will be preparing for a baby, and if you are on a low income but not below-the-bar low, then it really isn't easy finding money for pushchairs and cots.

Jasmine SOOOO wish I could just drive over there now!

jbells · 20/01/2011 14:50

treez10 · 20/01/2011 15:00

Thanks for your welcomes - crikey this place does move fast!! Bet it'll go quiet now while you all rush to get the freebies :o wish I lived nearer south oxon!

So...on the financial front..I suppose this means my DD will have the CTF money and my bump won't have any :(

mrswantstobeamum · 20/01/2011 15:28

Welcome and congratulations treez10 and CMH1stbaby! Also congrats to stargirl, gillz, and DaisyFields on your little girls/boys! Sasamaxx, I'm sorry you weren't able to find out the gender but I'm glad everything's looking good (and cute!). I'm looking forward to hearing from those who have scans today.

Had the flu jab yesterday and luckily still feel pretty normal. So sorry to those who have had bad reactions to it!

I also haven't been terribly active since getting pregnant, but have been trying to address that the past couple of weeks since I do have more energy this trimester. Ideally, I want to do a bit of yoga, a bit of swimming, and as much walking as possible. I think I'll start a pregnancy yoga class soon as I'm finding some of the poses in my regular yoga class to be challenging already! I really want to try an aquanatal class, but can't find anything in the area Sad

Maynie, I'm still not picking up a heartbeat on angelsounds, although I could hear the bean moving around with it last night. I'll keep trying as DH feels left out having not yet heard the heartbeat!

mrswantstobeamum · 20/01/2011 15:29

Also, if there is anyone else in the Southwest London/Surrey area, please let Swanny and I know as we will try to meet up.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/01/2011 15:39

Go on MN just lose my post. I'd even spell checked it for a change!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/01/2011 15:42

Neenewps, we're not moving anywhere to exciting, just to a bigger/better house. Preferably before I have to change my name to caravangirl.

jasmine51 · 20/01/2011 15:52

Hi all
Just arrived home with a car load of goodies. Rocker chair for me, bouncer chair for bub, carry cot and a couple of soft carriers. The carry cot is for a Quinny Buzz and I know it wont fit on the buggy we are going to get...but I thought Id pick it up in case anyone local wants it? There were alot of M&P travel systems there. The builders are literally in the process of demolishing the building and all this stock has been abandoned, going in the skip, so if anyone wants me to see if they have anything in particular, let me know. Its all second hand.
.....now I just have to explain to DH why the spare room is full of kit I said I wouldnt get yet!

treez10 · 20/01/2011 16:23

jasmine - wow! what a good lot of stuff you've got there - well done, you!

mrswantstobeamum and swanny - I am in the Surbiton area.

jbells · 20/01/2011 17:09

wow jasmine thats fab- i wud love a rocker chair wish i was local

misshoohaa · 20/01/2011 19:55

Hello ladies!
So excited - my 20 week scan tomorrow! Me and DH are like giddy children waiting for Christmas, fingers crossed that our little worm (bump name!) is healthy.

I too have popped this week, in a few days a big difference. I really love my bump too, I feel quite proud and smug! Grin

So back to pram chat...... Blush those of you that have looked at the baby jogger mini (not the micro as that's the poorer version right?) will you be getting the bassinet bit to go on the top? Assuming so as then you can have it rear facing whilst the baby is little?

I'd love a bugaboo but they are so pricey and looking at the reviews of the baby jogger they look pretty great, especially the folding aspect, so light! One mum even said she had a bugaboo and reverted to the baby jogger as it was better....

I'm going to hunt one down to try and test might have to shlep it all the way to Southampton though....

jasmine51 · 20/01/2011 20:32

I'm after a Baby Jogger but I'm going for the elite I think. The mini is due to be upgraded and rereleased with a firmer carriage area in March so bear that in mind.

bananarama05 · 20/01/2011 20:35

Evening all, just quickly wanted to say ohmyflippinggoodness how amazing is the 20 weeks scan?

I haven't stopped grinning like a loon since this afternoon :o

All good on the kidney front apparently and everything else for that matter but I have the worlds most wriggly bean! S/he (we didn't find out) was ankle grabbing, head scratching, yawning and all sorts in the 20 minutes we were watching! Got an amazing picture with the feet over the head, will try and figure out how to get it on here a some point.

Look forward to it ladies, it really is bloody awesome :)

Oh and hi all the new peeps!

motherofsnortpigs · 20/01/2011 21:52

agh, jasmine only just seen your msg. And I drove past there today - and didn't notice. Probably just as well as I do not need any more stuff. Don't worry neenewps it's not babyworld that's gone. It was a sort of exchange place. Anyway. I they owe at least one of my friends money, so I'll let them know. Too tired to post the rest of my news now and on phone. Will pop back tomorrow.

CitizenOscar · 20/01/2011 22:32

Hi everyone. I'm new too! Been watching you all for a while (but not in a stalkerish way Wink ) and thought I'd say hello.

Expecting first baby, due 21 June (same as one of the other newbies, right? On my phone so can't scroll back to check the name). Live in Wimbledon - I think some of you are nearby...

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

crumbletastic · 21/01/2011 07:58

Welcome CitizenOscar! And how exciting about the scan banana! It wasn't like that for me last preg, they turned the screen away for 10 mins or so whilst they did all the checks and only showed me the screen for the last min or 2 whilst they showed me the sex and took a pic, hope my scan next week is like your one.,

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/01/2011 08:12

Welcome CitizanOscar!

Banarama Grin that will be me and Misshoohaa later today!! Can't wait!!

8rubberduckies · 21/01/2011 09:54

Just checking in to say Hi to all the new folks and good luck for the scans coming up today... 1st Feb can't come around soon enough for me! Smile

LisasCat · 21/01/2011 10:57

Jasmine eek, only just seen your message. Is it still going on today? I'm stuck at work. But if you happen to go past again, we're desperate for a M&P car baby seat and plastic base (the fittings should be universal), so we don't have to buy a whole new travel system.

That's such a shame. Several people told me about that place, but I never found time to go in. I heard some of the nearly new stuff was amazing.

Anyway, I came on here for a quick rant - I just had someone senior female (who had 3 children and took a career break, thanks to hubbie earning squillions and being able to afford 2 big houses, and private education for all 3) imply in a meeting that was otherwise very productive that my pending maternity leave is a huge inconvenience, because naturally the handover process will be a disaster, so my boss has to keep a tight hold on my workload, as well as her own, to ensure someone can keep things going smoothly. Well no, actually, I've been working on my handover document for 3 months now, and have every intention of producing a world-class instruction manual (as well as hiring someone awesome), because apart from anything I'd quite like my job to be in the same state I leave it when I come back. So sod off lady!!!!

Rant over, apologies.

CMH1stbaby · 21/01/2011 11:10

hi CitizenOscar! same due date as me! Have you also had lots of "longest day of the year" jokes?!

Also - anyone have any ideas of how I can remember to do the pelvic floor exercises?! They were discussed at yoga last night and realised I haven't done any for ages! They keep slipping my mind, and doesn't help that DH laughs his head off at my expression Grin

very jealous of the free stuff! My mum has cot in her loft from when I was a wee baber that we're going to take a look at, but not sure if safety regs will have changed in 30 years!!

Have a good day peeps
xx

ps. lisascat - totally wrong and even a bit misogynistic of your boss.. horrendous in this day and age especially when you're obviously a pretty conscientious person.. ignore ignore ignore her..

takethatlady · 21/01/2011 12:05

Hello ladies,

How are you all? Brilliant some of you got all that free stuff from the bankrupt shop (though shame about the shop). I've looked at the Baby Jogger too, but until I actually get some time to go somewhere where there's a really good range to look at I'm just too confused to decide.

So jealous of your scan bananarama! Sounds amazing :) And congratulations on your little girl. Our scan is on 7th Feb so more than 2 weeks to wait. Feels like an age!

Yesterday a former colleague who hadn't seen me since I was only a few weeks' pregnant said, in all seriousness, thinking it was a compliment, 'wow ttl, you don't look pregnant, you just look fat!' When I said 'don't say that' she said 'No but you wouldn't want to look pregnant, would you? It's better just to look podgy. If I didn't know I'd just think you'd eaten too much at Christmas!'

Shock!!!!!

I tried to tell her that I'm quite happy to look pregnant, since I am pregnant (!) but nope, she still thought that saying I looked pregnant would be the height of all insults, and that telling me I was just 'podgy' was a nice thing to say Hmm

Luckily I know she is both mental and well-meaning, so I laughed it off, but am now busy telling everyone I meet that I'm pregnant just so they're sure!!

Moog72 · 21/01/2011 12:07

Hi everyone...

CMH thanks - you just remidned me to do my pelvic floor exercises Grin. I try to do mine whenever I pull up at traffic lights but I forget most of the time... really need to do them though as when I cough.... well you can guess!

Good luck to those having scans today - I am Envy. 5 days to go... :)

8rubberduckies · 21/01/2011 12:41

Am clenching as we speak Grin

swannny · 21/01/2011 12:57

treez10 I inboxed you :)

Oh, TFI Friday!!! This week has just been an absolute nightmare! I'm at work at the moment, but I just want to be at home in my bed! Hubby is ill and amazingly grumpy. Baby's decided to hide and not move for ages :( I just feel like utter crap.

Sorry for the downer ladies... I just needed to vent somewhere.

On the plus side, I have tickets to see Black Swan tonight which I'm really looking forward to :)

Hope you're all having a better day than I am xxx
