Welcome MummyofPrawn, it's lovely to see new faces joining even now!

I too am missing nursesunshine, I hope she comes back and that she's okay Sad.

Barbie big congratulations on your exam results, I had a feeling you would do well. I am still waiting on mine, I was meant to find out on Monday but not heard anything yet.

To all who have commented on Leila as a name choice, my other half is not convinced, and is 100% behind Ruby still. I like Ruby a lot but am still umming and ahhing about the fact that it is so bloody popular. They are very different names as well though, so maybe we'll have to see what she looks like when she arrives. Ruby Leila is pretty though if all else fails Smile.

Welcome mummyofprawn!! Just updating list here too but changing my edd date as I say 1st June (and am positive of dates), both dating scans I have are dating edd for 28th May and consultant worked it out from my LMP as 2nd June. Am going to stick with 2nd as I wont be so disappointed when if I go over (again!!). (We too are having a "surprise") am really exicted though to see the list of girls v boys... Grin

Congrats on today's scans and on all the girls who are suddenly popping up on the thread!

Ah 8rd Ruby Leila is lovely. Would you pronouncing Leila as in the Eric Clapton song, or Lee-la? I ask because my best friend from school is called Lee-la (spelled Leila), so though I know that's the more unusual pronunciation it's always what I read first, IYSWIM :)

You can't go wrong I say. I always thought I'd choose unusual names because my own name is very unusual (never met another, though it was a tiny bit popular in the nineteenth century and there a few in South Africa/Singapore, according to Facebook - something about colonial history there, i suppose). I like my unusual name. But when it has come down to it, we're going for pretty much classic English names. If you add up all the Isobel/Isabelle/Isabellas etc it's the most popular girl's name, though none of the spellings are in the top ten. It does bother me a bit, but really it's a name we love and I can't imagine much else.

Probably by the time the baby is born it'll be called Tallula-does-the-hoola or whatever that poor child was called who sued her parents over it Shock Grin

Oompalumpa that sounds very normal to me! I had really uncomfortable stomach cramps for about four hours on Friday and then over the weekend my stomach popped out even more :) Nothing since then except for the odd feeling of discomfort when I sneeze.

I sneezed this morning and felt unmistakeable little kicks afterwards though :) And a couple more this afternoon. Very pleased :) :) :)

takethatlady · 02/02/2011 14:50

PS - Ruby Leila Rubber Ducky is even lovelier Grin

Jer79 · 02/02/2011 14:52

Would anyone like to add to a second list with just the gender/surprise? Just to make it even easier to see who's having what, and get a good idea of the balance as everyone finds out/waits?

oompalumpa - me too, only hurts when I walk so am figuring it's muscular? everything stretching about? I'm new to this too so not entirely sure, but have noticed it comes as the day goes on after I've been moving about a bit... any advice experienced pregnant people?! Grin

mrswantstobeamum · 02/02/2011 15:01

I'm loving the discussions about maternity clothes and flying with babies. Most of what I've bought so far has been in the States, but I think I'll order some things now from Asos and Jojomaman bebe. Please keep the suggestions coming!

We are thinking about travelling with a small baby ourselves and I was wondering if we were a bit mad to even consider it. Some very good friends are getting married in Norway just six weeks after our due date. It will be a baby friendly weekend, so not a problem on that end, but I was worried about getting the baby's passport and immunisations in time. For the non first-timers, how long do these steps normally take?

I am impatiently waiting for our scan tomorrow morning, and really hoping that the baby cooperates as we would love to find out the gender!

CMH1stbaby, I have also been looking at wedding-appropriate dresses as I have a wedding in May. Isabella Oliver has some nice (but expensive) options, but everything is a bit plain. I may get this one from Dorothy Perkins: www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=2132714&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=212244&parent_categoryId=208601&sort_field=Relevance&pageSize=20

Supersunnyday, I've had a lot of movements that sound like what you've described. I felt those several weeks earlier than the kicks, so I'm sure yours aren't far behind!

Barbie, congrats on your exam results! Very well done, especially considering the circumstances!

Swanny, 8RD, Crumble, Cameli, Jer, and Kara, congratulations on your little boys and girls! I hope to be able to add our flavour tomorrow Smile

Welcome and congrats MummyofPrawn!

Moog72 · 02/02/2011 15:17

Hi all - congrats on all the scans!

Suppersunny what you are describing re. baby moving is the same feeling I have - sort of flipping over inside the tummy - I never know how to explain it though - you did that better..

Mrswantstobeamum I have that dress in black!

Mrs - that dress is lovely!

Welcome MummyofPrawns, OompaLoompah!

I am getting a lot of discomfort in the abdominal area, just feels like the muscle is stretched. I don't think it is anything to worry about as long as it is a steady pain.

We have nearly filled this thread up, ladies!

Add myself and a couple of others, need to get back to work now.

TTL I might just go for "Rubber Ducky" for her. Hang what dp and the entire human population think. When she is in therapy at the age of 18 because of her name I'll just tell her it was all your fault Grin. I always thought I'd give a daughter a really unusual name (always liked classic names for boys), but I suppose I've got to stop being so precious Smile. Isobel is a lovely name btw and a firm favourite of mine; I love Bella as a nickname, but Isobel on the birth certificate.

Mrswantstobeamum You can fast-track getting a passport, we got ds's in 2 weeks, it costs a bit more though. You may not get his/her first load of vaccines in in time though, as you will need to factor in going overdue. I suppose you could go anyway though if you felt comfortable with that?

CMH keep an eye on the pelvic pain, as I suffer from SPD and sciatica, and it gets worse as the day goes on as well. It gets worse as the pregnancy progresses, and can end up being a right pain in the ass. Literally Smile. It may not be SPD though, but just keep an eye on it, and see your midwife about a physio referral if the pain starts getting worse. Some good info about SPD here, but don't get scared as I think the website language is aimed at the highest common denominator, i.e. those who suffer from severe SPD. I found an exercise ball, antenatal yoga and taking it easy helped me in first pregnancy. Sadly, taking it easy isn't an option this time with a 2-yr-old in tow!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/02/2011 16:46

We are going away to Spain for a week in October! Can't wait! Not looking forward to the flight, with small baby, nearly 4yo DS and 10yo DSS. But it will be worth it :)

moomin156 · 02/02/2011 18:04

Should we do another thread with stats as this will fill up quickly if we all do that......lol. Dont know how to link it though else i would start it.

Hope everyone is well. I am off for 4 days, a weekend break in london and a night out at ''Jamie Olivers Fifteen' very excited :)

Clarkiee · 02/02/2011 18:37

Wow thanks Barbie Grin Grin Grin particularly like Caitlin, Niamh, Roisin, Alannah and Ciara!

Cheers for adding my girlies kara

I've nearly shaken off the cold but now got a cough. Had a major fit of coughing in the night and I swear a bit of wee came out Blush.

All this holiday chat is making me want to have a week or two in the sun. If I'm having 12 months off it'd be cool to go away out of the school holidays before I go back (although I'll be pretty skint by then).

Jer79 · 02/02/2011 19:50

Hi,

Here's a New Stats Page for all of us Juners.

What a great name list Barbie! Good luck with your scan tomorrow Jasmine51.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/02/2011 19:54

Nice one Jer!!

Add it to your watch list girls!

neenewps · 02/02/2011 19:54

Gosh have been trying to catch up with the thread! Have been busy packing as we move on Friday - I am now sat amongst a load of cardboard boxes!!

Had my 20week scan today. Once again - amazing! Seeing all the organs was incredible. It just really amazes me. We decided to find out what we are having and we are expecting a boy! There is no doubt about it either as the willy was huge!!! My DH was very proud of that and joked after that the sonographer took a sharp intake of breath when they scanned the genitals :)

Will try and update my stats but on my phone so might struggle!

Hope everyone is well.

hello all

wow lots of activity on here, the girls are really starting to add up now rnt they.

well i hav been umming and ahhhing for weeks now about whether or not to go to sharm for a week the first week in march, just unsure how relaxing it will be with DD who wud be 22 months in march Hmm and really dont know whether i can afford it but wud love a break away

other than that i was thinking mayb a couple of nites in london but not sure of nice cheapish child friendly hotels Confused i used to be sooo frivolous with hols and going away b4 i had DD gone r the days lol

well a big congrats to barbie and other than that i canr remember who sed wot as all i can c is stats lists Blush

hope everyones ok

moomin156 · 02/02/2011 20:13

added myself to stats on new link. Thanks Jer79

motherofsnortpigs · 02/02/2011 20:25

ok folks. So if you had to choose, would you pick the 5yo having hysterics because she's got nail varnish on her ballet leotard, the 3yo who wilfully wees on the bathroom floor, the 1yo who has bad nappy rash so was allowed to go nappy free and poos all over his high chair or the 18yo cat who is repeatedly sick on the carpet? I, thankfully, have been spared that difficult decision...

takethatlady · 02/02/2011 20:33

How were you spared the decision motherofsnortpigs :)

The wilful wee-er every time for me. Sounds like he's got chutzpah.

Sounds like they all have, actually :)

moomin156 · 02/02/2011 20:39

The 18yr old cat as i already have to cope with a 16yr and 17yr old so can handle that no problem.....
Although im sure with a growing bump i was supposed to choose one of the actual children :)

sasamaxx · 02/02/2011 20:39

lol that's some choice motherofsnortpigs
I've had a wilful wee-er, nappyless poo-er and a sicky elderly cat, so I'll go for the 5yo ballet/nail varnish option Wink

HalleLouja · 02/02/2011 21:39

I was on this thread a while ago but had a few scares but all is well and have had 20 week scan. We didn't find want to find out but sonographer referred to baby as "he" maybe a general term she uses or a significant clue.

We have two more scan booked. Nothing too exciting. I have an abutting placenta - hopefully should resolve itself by 32 week scan. Also DS was premmie so they are doing a cervical scan at 28 weeks. Am all fit and healthy so its ironic I am being scanned so much but hey ho there are worse things to do...

My fave girl name at the moment is Zoe (not sure about middle name). Though like Anna and Sophia too.

Boys name am a firm fan of Matthew (got a middle name but not telling) not sure if I like any names more than that one. Like Alex but that is my bro's name, my cousin is called Theo (family name so could use it) and it wouldn't go with my surname.

Anyway hello from a newbie.
