Just thought i would let everyone know i had my baby boy Corey Joel Birch on 5/01/2011 weighing 5lb 3oz. He was very poorly and spent 11 days in special care baby unit but hes doing great now and we are home. Hes so tiny and perfect. He was born at 37 weeks.

snowangels1 · 17/01/2011 10:55

cler congrats, fab news. I'm sorry your LO was so poorly to begin with but so glad he's doing better :) So is anyone going to offer to take over the stats? I'm rubbish with that type of thing.

needto know what you mean about workmen making more work for themselves but this isn't the case here sadly as DHs dad is builder type and he agreed that that needs doing. Things get worse but I won't bore everyone with recent developments.

Deliaskis · 17/01/2011 11:18

Congrats cler on your lovely new arrival. Sorry he was poorly to begin with but so pleased you are now home and he's doing well.

Congrats also varicose on your safe arrival. I missed the post over the weekend!

I can't believe there are now several Feb babies already here!

D

janedoe25 · 17/01/2011 11:26

Congrats cler glad he is better now, oh and what a lovely name!

ledkr · 17/01/2011 11:37

well done cler and familygreat news i was wondering about you.
pinkie its the dancing thing maybe.I spent years with a permenant bun so loving the blonde bob now haha
off to get dd some things for her bday now,it will all have to come from next and sainburys,my friend is coming for moral support,i find shopping very tiring now.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/01/2011 11:43

Congratulations cler glad you're both back at home now and hope you're both doing well Smile

It's getting so exciting now, can't wait to hear some birth stories when we're up to it!

smallblackflowers · 17/01/2011 12:14

Congratulations cler! Sorry to hear that things weren't so good to begin with, and really pleased to hear that you are both home Smile.

I will attempt the stats list - will try and resurrect one of the prof's old ones to start with, and get it all onto an excel spreadsheet so that it looks after itself. Give me a day to get it all sorted. Will start another for our new arrivals too.

PDR · 17/01/2011 12:18

cler congratulations and glad you are home!

Right - I called the doc first thing to ask about BP and he said to check it a couple of times a day and if it goes over 100 or I get another headache I will have to go in. That sounds pretty sensible so I checked it first thing (90) and just now (93) and I will check again before bed. No headache yet today.

Been to see school and was lovely - have to sign DS up now for 2012 as there are only 17 places in reception Shock and have to sign the baby up for the nursery now too as they are taking bookings there for 2012 too! Madness! Not even sure what days I want but will just put down a couple of random mornings and don't want to be taking one child here and one somewhere else IYSWIM.

snowangels1 · 17/01/2011 12:40

PDR did you go for your black trousers uniform to the school? Wink Can't believe you've had to sign up an unborn baby already to the nursery - I haven't even considered anything like that yet. It must be a v good one to get booked up that quick :)

Thanks to sbf for attempting stats Grin

PDR · 17/01/2011 12:51

angels yes I wore black uniform trousers and a blue dress tunic top and cardigan oh and a scarf for good measure Wink I probably looked like I'd just come from a jumble sale haha!

I was also shocked that we have to sign the baby up - tbh I'm not sure if I am going back to work or not so am just going to put down 2 mornings a week for now. As long as you give a month's notice you can delay your start date and he'll go there eventually so we won't lose our reg fee at least. It is a very good school with "outstanding" reports and only once class per year group so only a few places. It's also only 5 miles from our house so that's a bonus.

PDR · 17/01/2011 12:55

angels DH just reminded me that we had to sign DS1 up to his current nursery (also v popular) before he was born so maybe it is normal?

So advice to anyone who has set their heart on a particular nursery then maybe ring up and see how long the waiting list is!!!!

smallblackflowers · 17/01/2011 13:10

PDR, I second your nursery advice. DD was born in March 09 - I signed her up onto the waiting list for her nursery in November 08, and they couldn't take her until July 2010. I signed DC#2 up pretty much as soon as I knew I was pregnant. The nursery is ideal though as only 2 mins in the car, or when I'm able again, a 10 minute walk away.

Can't quite believe it but we've not had a stats update from the prof since 19th November! I'm planning on streamlining it a bit, as there is a lot of work there, but will happily add bits on in the future if anyone wants them.

debka · 17/01/2011 13:33

Cler huge congratulations on your little boy, glad he's home with you now. :)

SBF you're a star attempting the stats, I thought about having a go but had to go and lie down at the thought!

PDR thinking of you with your BP, I had BP problems last pg and it's a worry- try and make sure you sit down and rest for a good 5 minutes before you take it or you could get a higher reading.

Who was it who was nesting? I was very impressed and rather jealous- but woke up this morning and just HAD to clear out ours and DD's rooms and am now onto persuading DH to get the baby stuff out of the loft. (don't do lofts, that's a man's job, although DD is BESOTTED with it and has to go and have a wander whenever I send DH up!)

Needtosleep- backache, period pains- you could be the next to pop I reckon.... How many weeks are you? It'll be handy when the stats are up again to see how far along everyone is, I've forgotten, except I think SBF is the same day as me.

americanexpat · 17/01/2011 13:35

cler - congratulations and so happy he's home now.

I never considered that I'd need to look at nurseries at this point. Is that typical?

PDR · 17/01/2011 13:41

debka yes BP is a bit of a worry. I had it last time too so I think it is expected at some point or another... Last time I was admitted for a week waiting to be induced and now I have DS that would be rubbish :(
Don't want DH to have to use all his paternity leave before the baby is even born and our new nanny doesn't start till next Tuesday.

Needtosleep backache and period pains does sound promising :)

SBF I for one would be very grateful if someone would take on the stats as I am not very good at remembering when everyone is due Blush I know there's someone due on the same day as me though but can't tell you who Blush!

CantwaittoPopsy · 17/01/2011 13:52

Just taken lunch break to read all the new posts over the weekend. Had a baby shower on Saturday - organised my own with DH away - NOT one of my best ideas but was nice to do soemthing that didn't involve moaning about being PG. Am sleeping a lot better this month so not feeling so grumpy thank god!

Good to know everyone is having similar pains - I was getting worried over w/e as everytime I do a bit too much i get cramps and they are also sharp down on my right hand side which makes my ceasar scar burn (ouch!) - have VBAC appt tomoz so gonna ask them then. Can't remember getting much pain at all next time which makes me hope am gonna be at least on time ish if at all poss oh please oh please oh please

Great news about your LO varicose how are you getting on? Just wondering if your name is due to veiny legs and if they get better as i seem to have loads more this time - keep catching myself in bedroom mirror and stopping dead, horrified at what is happening to my body - unfortunately my mum has them really bad so seems is my fate howl howl

snowangels We are trying to sort out our loft too - the friend doing it for us has refused to start next week like we asked cos he says we'll all get stressed with each other and fall out - am v. disappointed cos want the space but know he is being sensible. However DH kindly brought 8 boxes of texts books down for me to sort through in my "free" time - feel sick at the sight of them - going to try and sneak as many as possible back into work before i go (a week on wednesday YAHOOOOOOOOO).

PDR was me asking about the prams - didn't realise you had them all bloody hell you are VERY well prepared - I know am going to give in to the double buggy but somehow will feel less guilty if I try at least a few days without one Grin. I have footmuff for bugaboo but didn't use it until toddler seat so you'll be well into summer by then. I think I got a fleece stripey one from JL at first cos wasn't too cold and lasted me on the days when I needed a blanket but not a duvet - so I bought the bugaboo one the following winter (excuses to buy more stuff ha ha)

cler very exciting to hear about your baby - glad you are all doing okay now - better get my hozzy bag ready yikes!

CantwaittoPopsy · 17/01/2011 13:56

ME! Grin
could we just do an update list where each person adds their stats as they come to post again so sbf doesn't have to do too much work?
I think we had one on my thread in 2008

smallblackflowers · 17/01/2011 13:57

Right girls, I've done the stats. I know we've had some newbies since the Prof's last update, so if you're not on list please let me know your details and I'll add you on. Fingers crossed this works!

I am having a boy SBF and thank you big time for doing the list :)

smallblackflowers · 17/01/2011 14:01

Am happy with Popsy's suggestion that everyone just copies and pastes and updates themselves, but also happy to be in charge of it all too! Whatever suits!

PDR · 17/01/2011 14:02

Ah yes Eau we have the same EDD unless yours has moved? :)

smallblackflowers · 17/01/2011 14:03

Thanks PDR - rather than filling the thread with multiple stats lists, I'll collate any updates like yours throughout the day today and will repost later.

JustOneMorePlease · 17/01/2011 14:08

Oh my god there are loads of us! I need to change my due date to 21st. They did this at my first scan and I never changed it on the last stats! Will do this when next on pc (don't know how to cut and paste on this thing Blush ).

ledkr love the photo and love the 'carrying fully grown person' comment. Made me chuckle!!!!!!

JustOneMorePlease · 17/01/2011 14:09

X-post sbf

PDR · 17/01/2011 14:10

SBF what a very sensible idea. I like your style Wink
