ledkr stop talking yourself down woman! you look great!

Not sure about bp - I think that is high anyway but annoyingly MW did not write down my booking bp Angry though when I saw consultant at hosp they recorded it to be 120/70 and that was around 14 weeks.
I have had a headache for most of the day as well but have now taken paracetomol and it's easing so that's good. Have been sitting on sofa most of the afternoon so quite lazy relaxed Grin

I find it hard to eat a big meal in one go so I go for several small portions coz I am greedy !

worrymummy · 16/01/2011 20:41

Congratulations varicose, fantastic news!

wigglesrock · 16/01/2011 20:47

Evening all - great photos Ledkr, Ella is the double of you and absolutely gorgeous.

varicose great news about baby boy, keep us updated on how you are all doing, names etc.

worrymummy I've already had to replace 2 boxes of sweets I'd left out for hospital staff thank yous Blush

My knee is a lot better, though my pride is still very bruised Grin I have also been getting quite severe BHs for the past few days and am getting quite uncomfortable in my nether regions Grin

debka · 16/01/2011 21:06

Sitting in favourite armchair feeling baby stretching with simultaneous heartburn and urges to go for a wee. Anyone else? May give up and feel uncomfortable in bed instead. Want to try your trick ledkr but only have 2 pillows.

ledkr · 16/01/2011 21:07

thanks wiggles i am rather proud of dd she is very pretty and does some modelling now but dont think ill manage it with baby.
pdr Just be carefull, thats a tad high and with a headache too Hmmi would relax then take it again and if its gone up ring for advice.Sorry if i worry you but woiuld hate anything to happen and ive not said anything.
I will reiterate the sleep thing,i was getting hip pain after half an hr on my side resulting in frequently waking to turn over.
Last 3 nights i have propped up my head and shoulders with soft pillows and takne 2 paracetamol before sleep and also a few drops of lavender too,one of them is working cos ive slept so well.
Can i also say my best friend is a top hairdresser, she does for 25 quid what she'd charge 150 for so i have an advantage of always having nice hair, halfway there then arent you?

ledkr · 16/01/2011 21:09

debka · 16/01/2011 21:17

40Weeks · 16/01/2011 21:23

DH just come back from shop with chocolate.... and ice cream, yay!

ledkr · 16/01/2011 21:25

i actually whip them from under his sleeping head,i dont care hes not carrying a large human :)

WanderingSheep · 16/01/2011 22:42

Hello hello hello! Smile

Varicose congratulations on the birth of your DS! I was wondering how you were Smile. Hope you both get home soon! Lots of love to you all!

Ledkr wow that's some impressive bump! Grin but the rest of you looks so tiny so I can see why you're uncomfortable. It's definitely all baby ha ha! Your DD is lovely too Smile.

I've been to a friend's baby shower today. We played games mostly. I've never been to one before. There was one game where we had to guess what was in the nappy by sniffing it [bleurgh]. They had used allsorts - chocolate spread, mushy peas, brown sauce, chutney! Disgusting!!!

WanderingSheep · 16/01/2011 22:45

Oh yes, and none of you lot best disappear after we've had our babies! I expect to see each and every one of you on the Post Natal thread when we get it up and running! Got it? Good! Wink Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/01/2011 23:40

I second that wandering, this thread has kept me almost sane through this pregnancy and want to know how everyone is doing post birth and beyond! Smile

Don't think I'll be sleeping tonight (tried the million pillows and paracetamol but no good Sad), he's up to his tricks again and I just weed myself a little bit Blush whilst getting up to waddle to the loo. Thank goodness for sanitary towels, no longer wearing panty liners as there not hardy enough...

I just read that in the days before labour starts you can get bad lower backache. I thought (and it's probably the case) that it was due to all the weight now he's dropped but the thought that it might be soon has cheered me up! Please don't tell me any different.... I know I'm going to go 2 weeks over and be induced really...

janedoe25 · 17/01/2011 07:49

ledkr u look fab as does your bump, but i can see why u r so uncomfortable!

I was having a go on my gym ball last night, instead of just siting on it i thought it a good idea to straddle it first Shock I practically done the splits and have buggered up my spd even more! I am in utter agony and can hardly move, my OH had to help me upstairs and in/out of bed every time i needed the loo! Needless to say im staying away from the ball for a bit!

snowangels1 · 17/01/2011 08:01

worrymummy don't know anything about gowri but I've been wheat/gluten free for years (intolerant) so also through pg. Can't say I've managed the sugar free thing though Blush

pdr re: bp - mine was high the other week when mw measured it and apparently their cut off point for anything above needing checking is I think 140/90. They were going to send me in for monitoring of me and baby because of my bp to check all OK but then as I didn't have any other pre-ec symptoms they told me to go home and rest, avoid stress and keep an eye out for any pre-ec symptoms. I also had to have some extra mw apts to check bp. I'm sure all fine but please ring mw to check.

needto did you get any sleep? I've tried ledkrs sleep method too but alas no good last night - worst nights sleep yet (not due to the ledkr method btw) - so painful hips/groin/back :(

snowangels1 · 17/01/2011 08:04

xposted. janedoe what a nightmare! I know on several occasions I've nearly fallen/rolled off my ball and felt it could be a bit dangerous (and warning to never try putting your socks on whilst sitting on the ball - not a good idea Wink ).

ledkr · 17/01/2011 08:45

morning all,hows your bp pdr.
I was in a perfectly good mood this am and then dd decided to play up,go slow be cheeky etc etc.I am so wound up i am going to go for a massage i think,i could have killed her.Sent her off to school without a goodbye which i have never done :( She was still being rude as she left.

snowangels1 · 17/01/2011 08:54

I think I can trump that Ledkr - DH put his foot through the ceiling yesterday when sorting out the loft - massive piece of plaster came off from landing. Plasterer just came over and said as plaster on ceiling is old landing will need completely replastering, and, in doing that the landing wallpaper will be ruined so prob will need to redecorate landing too, and my parents (who lived here) had it done relatively recently with expensive sanderson wallpaper which had years of life left in it [annoyed emoticon]. I don't know when we will get all this done and how we will afford it Confused . I'm suppose to be resting and taking it easy over the last few weeks (due to high bp probs) and not sure I can bear more works Shock .

americanexpat · 17/01/2011 08:55

Bloody hell, ledkr, now that is a bump! Well done to you.

No good nights sleep for me either. Sad I was up every 2 hours or less for antacid (exhausted my bedside supply and had to go to the kitchen for more), plus a cough that left my throat sore. I had a moan to my mom yesterday about being congested and she said she had the same thing when pregnant with me that cleared after I was born. I guess I'm stuck with the congestion and heartburn until he decides to arrive. Sad

ledkr · 17/01/2011 09:06

It is some kind of bump yes,i feel like im carrying a grown man!
angel poor you.Cant imagine anything worse,i lost controll when dh drilled thru the wall into the freshly painted nursery AngryDoes your dh stil have his genitals intact? I flipping hate mondays.
You may just have a cold ex pat.I had a few with this pg and then anasty sinus infection,i think its allmade worse by the pg too.
Have you tried ranitadine for the acid, its amazing.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/01/2011 09:32

morning,

rubbish night again, just can't get comfy at all and was having period pains and back ache all night, ggrrr!

angels are you sure the whole landing needs re-plastering, not that I know anything about this, but I do know that some workmen will try to get as much work as possible (not all workmen!) so he might be stretching the truth a bit. Could you ask him if it's possible to just plaster the broken bit for now?

ledkr my night of insomnia led me to the swinging thread and you are hilarious! i think i'd swap OH for a non snorer at the moment Wink

smallblackflowers · 17/01/2011 09:42

Morning all,

Congratulations varicoseveined hope you both get home soon. xxx

Ledkr - great pics, agree that your bump is huge, but the rest of you is tiny in comparison! Poor you with your naughty DD this morning - I hope she gives you a big apology this afternoon when she gets home. Smile

Angels I can only imagine how stressful your ceiling situation is - I'm getting stressed over tiny things that are not in order, so would probably be in histrionics over a hole in my ceiling. Sad

I had a pretty good nights sleep last night, 2 paracetamol for the pelvic pain, ranitidine for the heartburn and reflux, beanbag maternity pillow, and only 1 wee trip! Feeling pretty reasonable today!
I thought things might be starting to happen at the weekend - was randomly sick on Saturday afternoon, and loads of strong BH yesterday. Not ready yet though, still too much to do around the house, and waiting for my mum to get back from Australia as she will help look after my DD when in labour etc.

ledkr · 17/01/2011 09:59

small black flowersIm sleeping well with loads of extras too haha, maked you feel better doesnt it.I cant believe so many people still persevering with the gaviscon, ranit is sooo good.
needtosleepBlushat you reading the swingers thread,i was a little graphic.I blame anyfucker she started me off then left.
I am amused to be referred to as "tiny" defo not true,im normally a size 14 got a HUGE arse,am the classic british pear, the bump is just swamping me haha.
Wonder how pinkiepoois, she was getting bad cramps on Saturday wasnt she?
has anyone started to panic about having more than one dc.Despite this being my 5th its been me and dd for so long i cant imagine the work involved with 2 especially when back at work Hmm

Deliaskis · 17/01/2011 10:18

Ledkr thanks for the sleep rec. I too can't sleep on my side for more than half an hour, wake up in pain. I'm going to try the paracetamol and lavendar approach. Already sleeping propped up which is fine for the first couple of hours, and then I wake up and can't get off again. Would do ANYthing for a good night's sleep now so off at lunchtime to get lavendar type things! Another thing that did help (although sounds a bit odd) was a hot water bottle between my legs (LOL), I don't know about anyone else but cold makes my SPD worse and warm helps, so this did make a difference to me.

Hope everyone else is well or at least coping. 5 weeks to go for me, seems too long, I'm super fed up now! (Although accept that if Ledkr's sleeping tips help I might be in a generally better mood!).

Mum & Dad and DH all bet yesterday that I will have this baby early. Don't know why really, I don't think any of them are particularly used to seeing heavily pregnant women so not sure what they're basing their prognosis on! But anyhooo, anything after 37 weeks is fine by me, so 2 weeks to go until then, 5 weeks to official DD, maximum 7 weeks until I meet my baby!

D

americanexpat · 17/01/2011 10:19

Oh, congrats to vericoseveined! I hope you're able to take him home soon.

ledkr - I think I'm going to have to "upgrade" to something stronger. It wasn't this bad but the last few nights have been agony. Is there a preference for ranitidine over omeprazole? Is it something I can get at at pharmacy or should I see a GP/midwife first?

PinkiePoo · 17/01/2011 10:25

Ledkr I am still lurking....the cramps went on Sunday, which was lucky as had another 3 hours teaching. Phew!! I think i will be early but not this early, definitely not even dropped yet.

I must say impressive bump pic though ledkr, we don't look too dissimilar!! Whenever anyone asks how long i have left and i say '6 weeks' there face is a picture, followed by ' oh, longer than i thought then' HA HA. JUST SAY IT GOD DAMN IT, I AM HUGE!!!!

Hope everyone is keeping well, and here here for the non-sleeping, slept on the sofa at half 4 this morning as so uncomfortable.

Congrats to Varicose hope you get home soon with your little dude Grin
