EauRouge · 16/01/2011 11:26

Oh, i missed Varicose's post, congratulations! Glad you and your new DS are doing well, hope you get to go home soon.

snowangels1 · 16/01/2011 13:02

Thanks for the advice ladies. No more massive brings-tears-to-the-eyes-quite-literally pains again so fingers crossed nothing major. Am trying to relax as gets worse when I walk but v hard with PIL over to sort out the loft (cue loud bangs/hammers/lots of dust etc)

lostfromoz · 16/01/2011 13:26

Congrats varicose, that's wonderful!
40 Weeks the hedgehog residence is brilliant...maybe this is your DH nesting?
I'm having something quite similar snowangels...it makes me stop dead and just yell. Not sure how that will pan out at work next week.

ledkr · 16/01/2011 13:34

yes angels my bh take my breath away and if im walking; and thats when they come on,i have to stop.I have timed them before now.Proper contractions kind of peak up at the top of the bump and hurt like hell!
I am just about to try and put a bump pic on my profile im a bit crap so give me some time.It is sooooo big,i will be expecting virtual hugs chocs and back rubs when you've seen it.Grin

PDR · 16/01/2011 14:23

Congratulations varicose!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you can go home soon! So exciting that things are starting to get going! I wonder who will be next?

40 your DH sounds v sweet :)

Just put DS down for his nap - he seems much better today thankfully and no temp at all. We are hoping he can go to nursery tomorrow morning even if only for an hour as we are meeting the headmaster of his prospective school - most exciting. I really ought to figure out what to wear Confused

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/01/2011 14:37

Glad your ds is doing better PDR, I know what you mean about the clothes thing, I'm not getting out of my pjs today even if the queen comes round.

ledkr where are your pics?? Grin

just realised that we're already at 700 or something posts, don't think this will be our last thread after all!

do you think we talk too much? Wink

PDR · 16/01/2011 14:42

We do talk a lot Grin but that's definately a good thing.

NeedToSleep I am going to have to go with black trousers as basically that's my current pregnancy "uniform" as nothing else fits! But since finishing work in November, all my tops are kind of casual... Meeting it at 9.30am so no chance of popping to shops. Perhaps is DH looks ok they will overlook my shoddyness?! Might say I am due tomorrow or something Wink

40Weeks · 16/01/2011 14:44

Nah!

Dh has taken boys to BIL for dneices bday and left me alone to rest! Ha not before a massive strop to ensure I feel bad. So am punishing myself in front of the telly. Time Travellers Wife.

Ha ha lost maybe that is him nesting!

Now come on ledkr where's this photo?

knittakid · 16/01/2011 15:55

Hello! last time I checked in there were 22 pages! it's impossible to keep up!
Congrats varicose!!!

How far in advanced can a baby's head engage? is not terribly unconfortable for them to be like that for long?

I am utterly exhausted, just had three friends staying visiting for the past 5 4 nights and it has def taken its toll, although I still can walk for longer than some of them, so I feel very proud!

Will catch up more later...night night.

ledkr · 16/01/2011 16:11

bloody net book,i just cant do it,will have to walk the 30 steps to the pc to try but will pass the carrot cake and kettle on my way what a pity.Just had a craving for pie, pie? i never eat bloody pie!Had mushy peas and gravy with it,mmm.
Have managed to totally piss off dh,we have been trying to fit a light in the kitchen bit almost impossible.Dh getting very frustrated.Ex h arrived back with dd and i asked him if he could advise as he is very practical.Dh was in the other room and ex was trying to talk to him but dh wouldnt look up from pc it was so embarassing, they get on well so thought it would be ok.
Have been so naughty on the swingers thread,i think its the bordom.Grin

ledkr · 16/01/2011 18:33

have actually done it,took all day due to stupid phone, did it with camera in the end which should have done ages ago.DD is on there as i was practicing.Lots of pity please haha

PDR · 16/01/2011 18:42

ledkr you look fab! Your bump is indeed huge but it's all at the front - did they say you had a lot of fluid? You look really healthy - wish I could say the same Envy Oh and you can't possibly be a granny Wink

snowangels1 · 16/01/2011 18:52

ledkr I second you look fab. I can see how you're a tad uncomfy with such a big bump though Wink. You have a very pretty DD too :)

tadjohndoryp · 16/01/2011 19:34

I had what were either BH or the real thing yesterday while pushing a trolley round costco. I had to stand still and breathe through them though I wouldn't have said they were as painful as previous labour pains by any means. So either I am a little bit more dilated or my body is still practising.

Going to get into some severe nesting now. Really want to clean the house! Shock

Congratulations varicosed! I hope you get to bring him home soon!

tadjohndoryp · 16/01/2011 19:36

Sorry, took ages to post - you look fab ledkr!

MizK · 16/01/2011 19:40

Congrats varicose on your baby - please lets keep the thread going post births as I want to see pics of all the babies!!!

Speaking of pics ledkr you look fab! The way you put yourself down I admit I was surprised how great you look, bit of a blonde bombshell arentcha!

Getting really close now ladies, last night my friends surprised me with a baby shower which was so much fun! I had gone to the ballet with my sister and when we got in everyone was waiting in my living room with pressies, cake, balloons etc! Was really nice as I hadnt suspected so I felt very spoiled :) even though I'm still not prepared (havent packed hospital bags, or set room up yet) I don't care, I'm just so excited! Cant wait to meet the little monkey.

Bensmum76 · 16/01/2011 19:44

I think I'm starting to nest. Dh and I have spent today sorting through cupboards, and putting ds playroom in order, also packed my hospital bags, did loads of washing, sorted recycling, and now have covers from pram etc in soak. I'm exhausted but feel I would love to carry on going!!
Not sleeping well at the moment, my hips and pelvis are so painful at night, and my pelvis seems to click when I'm walking.
Let's all hope we make it through the next few weeks quickly.
Varicosed, congratulations on the birth of your son. I hope your both home soon

Bensmum76 · 16/01/2011 19:46

P.s. Ledkr you look amazing in your pick your bump is huge but look really well.

PDR · 16/01/2011 19:48

Just did bp and it's 146/90 which is a bit high :(

Miz how lovely that they surprised you! I'm excited too - what date are you due again?

If I wasn't so lazy I would update the stats but last time I tried to change my due date on there I fucked it up so best I leave it alone!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/01/2011 19:58

My goodness ledkr there's no way you're a nanny, did I really read that? You look like you've shoved a (albeit large) football up your top, very neat and all out front! Please tell me you dressed up for that pic as you're way too glamourous for 37 weeks...

tad I think my money's on you to give birth next by the sounds of it! I've had more full on BHs tonight but think it's where he's pushing his way down into my pelvis, definitely getting the 'is he going to all out?' worries especially when on the loo.

mizK sounds like you've had a wonderful day, I agree that I can't wait now.... Smile

knitta I think with your first dc they tend to engage earlier than with subsequent babies. I've been 3/5ths for the past 6 weeks or so I think (but maybe more now after the past couple of evenings pains). Your mw will tell you if you ask her.

tadjohndoryp · 16/01/2011 20:07

Haha - we'll see!

debka · 16/01/2011 20:12

ledkr you look fab, enormous yes, but fab. Grin

Don't remember if I posted but have to go back to the consultant this week as the baby's abdomen measurement is off the scale... No enlarged organs so no reason to worry but may have to have another GTT or more scans. Now also worrying about early induction. However MW said I was 3/5 engaged which isn't bad for #2, and it looked like baby could come any day. You wait, I'll be the last one left on this thread!

Visited our friends who had baby last week weighing 6.7- she's lost 5oz and now weighs 6.2, is absolutely weeny, esp considering mine is already 7.11 apparently!

ledkr · 16/01/2011 20:20

gosh you lot are making me blush, trust me its a good pic and quite far away so cant see my grey roots haha but thanks,i was a bit worried youd all be really ott about the bump.
pdr what are you mean to do when bp is high? Can you relax for a bit to get it down.
Is anyonr finding it hard to eat?Cant get close enough to table and have no lap to eat off there either.
Try the sleep thing tonight ladies ive had 3 great nights and feel much better.

Grannyapple · 16/01/2011 20:30

ledkr u look fab by the way...but can see how u r a tad uncomfy, lol!

I have my baby shower next sat afternoon-straight after a morning nct class so will be shattered no doubt. Room should be ready this week-getting some wallpaper put up tomorrow by some friends & then sofa bed delivery on tues...then all good to go.

If anyone is interested, I picked up 2 bales of black towels for £20 in debenhams today-they're now getting washed for hozzy bag! Then it'll be a waiting game lol-just as well -I want to fit in a trip to a spa before d day!

worrymummy · 16/01/2011 20:33

Ledkr lovely to see a pic - you do look great! What's the sleep thing?

I have VERY belatedly come across the ideas of Gowri Motha about no wheat or sugar, bit late now but has anyone tried this?

Have managed to (almost) clear the spare room & packed a bag just in case but still convinced I'll be 2 weeks late. And the kettle has broken and we've eaten all the midwives' biscuits so we are not ready yet!
