Ah, x-posted Lostfromoz! I think I'll buy new then Smile.

ZeroMinusZero · 14/01/2011 17:31

We got a good matress from kiddie care for £60 which we thought was a real bargain. Don't have a link for it right now but is a good place to start...

lostfromoz · 14/01/2011 17:35

Yeah...the NCT woman was very convincing, and her general approach to things was that you should buy as little as possible and that babies don't really need much...so I don't think she was trying to sell their gear or anything!

wigglesrock · 14/01/2011 17:45

Oh I'm scundered now, took dd1 to gymnastics, had dd2 with me and was trying to bribe reward her with some crisps from the vending machine. I hunkered down to see something on the last shelf, I completely lost my balance, fell forward onto knees and then backwards onto arse. A man had to give me a hand to kneel up again Blush the mortification of it all!!! I was like a weeble toy but with less grace. Am going to hide in shame for rest of evening.

WanderingSheep · 14/01/2011 18:51

Wiggles! Hope your ok!

Zero, £60? Shock I'm sure I've seen them elsewhere for a tenner! I would expect to buy a cot one for £60 but not a Moses basket one.

wigglesrock · 14/01/2011 19:24

wandering bit of a bruised knee but the shame, the shame, not sure I will be capable of leaving the house for the next week Grin

WanderingSheep · 14/01/2011 19:38

You must be careful in your condition! Wink

wigglesrock · 14/01/2011 19:43

Teach me to go to a feckin' vending machine in search of Onion Rings, knew I should have made dd2 eat the very healthy snack I had brought with me, rather than go for anything for an easy life solution occasional treat Wink

CantwaittoPopsy · 14/01/2011 19:54

Oh not matress washing - another thing to do that I hadn't considerd! I had to by my mate a new one cos the one I'd borrowed off her went mouldy in my loft (baskets, matress and bedding Angry). I've got someone else's this time (DH has made me promise to give it STRAIGHT BACK)

Just scraped my car pulling out of drive - just like I have done every day for 4 years since I bought it - doh! Is anyone else much more shit at things like driving now? Last PG I drove up to carpark barrier at work and didn't realise it hadn't opened so kept on going...think I should stay off the roads from now on... so roundthehouses I reckon 20km is defo toooooo far for a bit of manipulation - what does the chiro do? Can he not give you some exercises to do at home?

ledkr am dying to see your bump - how are you managing to balance?

CantwaittoPopsy · 14/01/2011 19:57

wiggles My DD thinks we go swimming just for the crisps - tried to sneak her out of there without them this afternoon and it was like something out of armageddon!

Have given up putting things in bottom of pram cos am often trapped down there in need of a hand up - so embarrassing in Tesco when til woman thinks you have run off without paying!

Grannyapple · 14/01/2011 19:59

Hi ladies-can't believe how much posting has been going on over the past 2 days Smile

Finally finished up work today-so glad as was up to midnight last night getting some presentations prepared for meetings today. Knackered today now!

Still find it weird that in about 4 wks will be a mum!!

MissTFied · 14/01/2011 20:34

I know Grannyapple. You'd think by now I'd be used to being a mum, but I often look at my three and think 'where did all of these come from?'.

I really can't imagine holding a newborn in 4 weeks or so either. I tend to disassociate myself with the baby until it is safe in my arms. Consequently, we are always terribly bad with getting names sorted!

ZeroMinusZero · 14/01/2011 21:00

Sorry I may have been confused about what you were talking about our £60 matress was for a cot bed. Carry on.

ZeroMinusZero · 14/01/2011 21:01

PDR · 14/01/2011 21:04

DS is definitely coming down with something :( His temp is 39-41 now depending on how recently he's had calpol. Cannot believe he's got another bug less than a month after the last one!!!

Cannot remember who asked me but here are my pram stats Wink
Jane powertwin
Jane slalom pro (with lie flat car seat to make a carrycot)
Maclaren Spitfire stroller (not from newborn)
Bugaboo Cameleon (this is still at the shop waiting on car seat before I collect)

Really no idea how I will get on out and about with the 2 children so we'll see how much I use the double. It was second hand anyway but I think I could sell it on after I am finished. I have ordered 2 new seatliners so that should spruce it up a bit!!!!

My right foot is really swollen tonight :( and it feels kind of hot? Anyone else get this?

tadjohndoryp · 14/01/2011 21:12

Do you think our insides will be actually bruised by all the kicking and stretching going on in there?

Impressive pushchair stats!

Hope you feel better soon wiggles.

As long as you are not scraping yourself popsy.

tadjohndoryp · 14/01/2011 21:16

Sorry PDR hope your foot feels much better soon too. Anyone else got a very heavy bump at night? Mine feels really painful and keeps me up now.

Enjoy your maternity leave grannyapple, especially if this is your first!

WanderingSheep · 14/01/2011 21:37

Woohoo for starting maternity leave GrannyApple! Enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy.

Zero thank goodness! Grin I was worried then; that I'd have to spend that much when we need a cot one too, lol!

PDR hope your foot and your DS feels better! He's a little cutie btw!

ledkr · 14/01/2011 22:04

pdr that sounds a bit like cellulitis, have you injured it at all?Best to get it checked tomorrow.can you see out of hours doc?
was having a nice evening with dh had a chinese and watching the wire, bil phoned 40 mins ago and he has been on the phone ever since,in laws always phone late really bugs me,may start to slyly unplug phone around 9.

tadjohndoryp · 15/01/2011 04:35

So the OB reckons I am already 2 1/2 cm dilated and will not go to term as head is right there! Shock . Maybe this will be a January baby too! A little bit scared now as still have lots of stuff I wanted to get done!

WanderingSheep · 15/01/2011 08:37

Shock Bloody hell Tad! Sounds like it could be! How exciting! I know what you mean about not having much done though, I haven't either and I don't feel nowhere near ready - I'd like the baby here but don't feel like I'm sorted enough yet. That nesting instinct needs to kick in with me. Where the hell is it? I've been washing all the baby clothes, if that counts but I've not actually got anywhere to put them once they're dry Hmm as we haven't got a wardrobe yet!

Anyway, it sounds like yours could be here soon and if you're already 2 and a half cms dilated hopefully will be a short labour for you! Good luck!

ledkr · 15/01/2011 08:43

gosh tad, dilated already sounds like a defo then to me.I have the heavy bump thing at night,i feel like i csn hsrdly walk and when i do its like jon wayne.More comfy in the morning so i may have a few more breaks in prone position today. The fav part of the sofa where i sit is looking very squashed-like jim royals chair in the royal family haha "pregnant my arse"

NeedToSleepZZZ · 15/01/2011 09:05

gosh indeed tad, do you feel ready? really hope it means a smooth labour for you! i had my first antenatal class on tues then at my consultant appt i saw a couple from the class... WITH THEIR BABY! Things just got real! Shock

I'm quite ready for baby to arrive from next week as think my hips and lower back are giving up the ghost now.

wigglesrock · 15/01/2011 09:07

tad How exciting, keep us all updated. I still have loads to do, thought I was getting on alright and then realised I haven't done much at all and I don't even wash baby clothes before using them so I can't let on I've been doing that!! I just keep throwing stuff into a chest of drawers.

Well after all my mortification over my roly poly incident at the vending machine yesterday - my knee is so sore, I think I have really bruised it, vv painful to put much weight on it and in my condition there's nothing else for it Grin Have iced it and if I don't move its ok Hmm

WanderingSheep · 15/01/2011 10:10

Wiggles I hope your knee feels better soon!

I'm not washing anything that's new, just the old stuff that's been in the attic.
