Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Morning all

Yes ledkr will ask mw - was late with last 2, by 2 weeks then 1 week so personally not worried but then everyone in RL looks at me as though am mad when i mention going off on my own so far along.

Zero meant to say I heard of "supporting adult" before but godless parents deffo gets my vote!

Both boys woke at 1am and wanted cuddles and had a good cry. Felt like joining in. So sleepy and have spin class in 90 mins! Get charged if I don't go as boys booked into crèche so will have to tough it out. This is the first. Time I have not felt like going. Also Te own body weight in cashiers cRamel last night so need the workout Sad

40Weeks · 12/01/2011 08:51

Ahhhh auto correct on iPhone! "ate on body weight in cadburys caramel" is wot I shud have writ Wink

40Weeks · 12/01/2011 08:52

Own body weight [exasperated emoticon]

americanexpat · 12/01/2011 08:56

tadjennyp - was the gorgonzola toasted too? Even if not, I wouldn't worry too much about it, but I've occasionally been quite loose with the cheese rules. I told DH I want a cheese board packed in my postnatal bag. Grin

I've not been sleeping well either but I've been having sinus problems on top of not being comfortable. The top of my bump is often sore when I wake up in the morning.

PDR · 12/01/2011 09:04

Is it so wrong to have a toasted ham & chese sandwich and a packet of BBQ flavour rice cakes at 9am...? Blush Nom nom nom......

smallblackflowers · 12/01/2011 09:47

PDR That sounds yummy Smile
Zero Godless parent gets my vote too - it certainly has the cheeky factor Grin
40Weeks I can't believe you are still going to spin classes! I can't even contemplate anything other than a slow shuffly waddle at the best of times.

I dreamed that I was in labour last night and the midwife was telling me not to have a water birth as it would upset the baby Confused. In the dream I also won £3,500 in a raffle, and I was pleased as it would help me pay back the £850 that I have just been told that I underpaid in tax for 2009/10 (this is unfortunately not a product of my crazy imagination Sad - got a letter this saturday announcing this wonderful fact).

debka · 12/01/2011 11:30

Had 36 week growth scan today. Baby weighs 7.11 and tummy circumference is off the chart.... O boy.... Sonographer said nothing to worry about, no enlarged organs or anything, but it just sounds ENORMOUS and I have 3 1/2 weeks to go- although DD was 2 weeks late... o dear o dear... is it 1/2lb a week they put on? Too scared to do the maths....!!!

Someone reassure me please Grin

PDR · 12/01/2011 11:44

debka mine weighed 6.9 at 34+3 on Monday so we're probably along the same trajectory!!!! Consultant also didn't seem concerned although I was Shock!!!!! Do you have to go back? You are a bit later than me but they want me to go back in 4 weeks so at 38ish weeks.

I am also concerned as DS was 2 weeks late (are you me but 2 weeks ahead?!)

I am secretly thinking the baby will definately be ready by EDD but then I am a hopeless optimist!

ledkr · 12/01/2011 11:54

40wksshould think if you are still managing a spin classa 3 hr drive is the least of your worries.:)
Wow we are having some whoppers by the sound of it,maybe its this threa,we have spent so much time sat on the pc our babies have grown.DD1 is doing a show and tell today about the baby,i joked with her that it will be the one in charge cos so big,dd1 is 8 and weighs abouit 3.5 stones she is really dinky.
americanexpat sinus probs here too,not sure if to do with pg.Get headache about 9 which lasts until about 12.30am on anti bioticsfeel itsslightly less today but took paracetamol an hr before it came on.

jackfrost · 12/01/2011 12:19

Hello all! Wow, I have missed 22 pages of posts!!! Will try to catch up but no promises!
Girls are doing really well, spent 15 days in hospital in SCBU and now we are all home!!! Katie doing really well, Lucy still struggling to hold body temperature though. Having to bottle feed expressed milk as they are not strong enough for breast feeding yet! But things are on the up!

Has anyone else dropped yet?

knittakid · 12/01/2011 12:23

Fantastic news Jack!! can't really believe that just 2 weeks later they get to go home, you must be so glad! It must be such hard work though, how are you doing?

ZeroMinusZero · 12/01/2011 12:52

Ledkr I haven't been able to drive for a while, but that could be more to my height than anything else. Luckily dh drives me in in the mornings and I get a lift back from a colleague otherwise I'd be in trouble.

Jack so good to hear your girls are doing well, you must be so relieved after all that worry. One other person popped about a week ago though I can't remember off the top of my head who it was.

wigglesrock · 12/01/2011 12:54

Jack brillant news about dds getting home!!! Well done you.

I am having a terrible sore throat from about 8pmish right through the night, I am sleeping with my mouth open, (the drool being a dead give away Blush) and can barely swallow in the morning, really sore for an hour or so. Any ideas??

Ledkr my dd1 (5) is only slightly heavier than dd2 (3), she is really dinky but tall, all legs and bambi eyes, I am shocked to find that I am slightly jealous of a 5 year olds ability to wear leggings Grin Right off to get ready for scan, time to uncross those legs babywiggles.

debka · 12/01/2011 12:57

Yes PDR think we must be related!! Seeing MW this afternoon, don't know if she'll send me for another scan. Sonographer said baby was ready to come now! The head was very low too. It would be wonderful if it did but you expect a similar experience to last time don't you, so I'm expecting this one to go overdue too.

My friend just had her baby, 10 days overdue and she only weighed 6.7! She texted today to say she and baby were having a 'battle of wills' (baby is 4 days old)- baby didn't sleep till 4am having been fed twice. Feel so so sorry for little mite- feeding twice- DD fed every 2 hours at the start! (and she was over 2lbs heavier). Hope she softens up a bit (the mum), otherwise this little one will have a miserable time.

Welcome jack, good to hear your lovely girls are doing well. Any photos yet??

snowangels1 · 12/01/2011 13:13

ledkr I get that odd numb groin pain at night. Used my dream genii pillow last night though and did seem to help me sleep a bit. Your whole family-in-laws btw sound quite Hmm . I'm also worried about things going wrong so late - I had no downs screening whatsoever (as I felt too ill to go to the hospital to have the tests carried out) so I have no idea at all the chances of this baby having downs. I know there are lots of perfectly lovely downs babies born and I'd love her no matter what, but it does cross my mind sometimes.

PDR I'm really hoping to organise a christening this summer. I'm not very religious but it's something that I really want to do. DH isn't so sure though so will take some pursuading.

Speaking of reflexology for starting labour - I've booked mine for when I'm 37.5 weeks and probably weekly thereafter until it kicks in. I had it on mon and she fiddled with the bit to do with blood sugar (or hormones associated with it) and later that day I had my lowest post meal reading ever - lower than some of my pre breakfast readings - I wonder if that'#s what it was Hmm .

Is anyone planning on doing birth announcement cards to friends/relatives? Does anyone do them any more? I'm wondering whether to buy a couple of packs of cards for the old school style relatives but wondering what others are doing re: this.

Great news jack - have been thinking of you and wondering how you've been getting along.

Speaking of TPT (Which I'm too scared to do now) I was having a wee last night (prob tmi) and I could feel babies ?head? wiggling around in my pelvis and was really really painful to wee. eek. As soon as I stood up was back to normalagain.

Went to hospital this morning re: if I can have epidural and yipee I can (issue re: back issue). Anaethatist (can't spell) was really nice and said at this hospital 78% of people get an epi within 15 mins of requesting one - that sounds like a reassuring stat, right??

40Weeks · 12/01/2011 13:19

Wow Jack thats good news, hopefully Lucy will catch up too with body temp. Hope you are doing okay too and looking after yourself (as much as you can!)

Also meant to say before Elles I have to confess out of curiosity from all the posts here I did read your other thread and have to say a big well done to you. You have done the right thing by laying down the law now and showing him whats what. If thing are going to work out you have to let him know that his behaviour isnt on and I really respect you for doing just that, esp at a time when it could have been so easy to just let things slide and carry on being the strong one. I really hope things work out for you - you are definitely seeting the right example for your LO by putting you and him/her first! I think you said a 'him' but cant remember now as read it a few days ago.

Anyway, Spin class was fully booked! So I didnt do it anyway, am going to try Friday again as its a quieter class. Am going to start sitting on a towel in the class as I keep dreaming my waters break half way through Spin! Thanks for the workds of support girls, but really, if you saw me, you would laugh because I am still a fatty! Not as bad as last time but still more than I should be! Oh well, where's the millionaires shortbread...?

Debka Cant believe SOnographer said that, how do they know? I guess because right size and position but then it gets your hopes up when baby is having a lengthy snooze and has no intention of coming yet! I find it so fascinating that some come 2 weeks early and some 2 weeks late - how do they know when to come!?!?!?! Clever babies.

PDR · 12/01/2011 14:42

angels we get ppls birth announcements all the time so def not that old school! I got our proof today in the post as having them made along with thank yous and naming day invites... So cute even DH likes them! WHSmith have some nice ones if u don't want to get them made.

40Weeks · 12/01/2011 15:09

Oh PDR you are very organised!

40Weeks · 12/01/2011 15:09

Oh and just out of interest, I am currently eating a chomp dipped in a cup of hot choc. No wonder I am a cow

snowangels1 · 12/01/2011 15:18

PDR you get them printed especially? Hadn't even thought of that, I was just planning on getting some from M&S or sth. Have you chosen baby name to put on them already?

40weeks you made me feel a little better with your choc habits - I was hobbling down the road at snails pace feeling very sorry for myself at how I can barely walk much now thinking of how on earth you manage to do spin earlier. I think just watching the class would be more than I can manage!

knittakid · 12/01/2011 15:21

I was wondering the same thing angels about birth announcements. And zero about godfather replacement...
Had mw today and nct class yesterday. Mw said he's very very low, almost engaged already! does anybody know the statistics for percentage of babies born at 38 weeks? or earlier spontaneusly?

Ohhh rasberry leaf capsules sound so much better than the tea! thanks for the tip.

PDR · 12/01/2011 15:32

angels and knitta yes we have chosen the name (George Owen) and you can either have the date / time / weight bits left with a line for you to fill in or just drop an email once baby is born as cards can be made ip in advance it's just the inserts which would be done at the last minute. I am using this lady Jo's handmade cards and the cards are gorgeous! If you don't want to spend as much there are lots of places, equally if you want to spend more there are some beautiful ones I have seen. If you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks for them to print & shop them then we have received quite a few photo postcard type ones from Vistaprint / Photobox and they are really nice for ppl to stick on the fridge. Really reasonable cost as well.

40Weeks · 12/01/2011 15:37

Oh god I am so bored. I am letting the DCs play on the Wii as I just dont have the energy to entertain but they are still a bit bored. Eldest keeps asking if we can go out. We have been out this morning already and I just dont have the energy now to do much but I feel so guilty.....Sad And they are having an M&S packet meal for tea...

PDR · 12/01/2011 15:40

40 I am trying to keep DS from going upstairs as DH was on an early and is sleeping. Normally I wouldn't bother [evil wife] but I don't want him to claim he's too tired to take me out for dinner tonight Grin NCT class is round the corner from the hotel we are going to - wonder if he will notice if I lure him there (for 2 hours) afterwards Wink.

snowangels1 · 12/01/2011 15:51

PDR love the handmade cards. I would like to go with the ones with a photo on and do it all after birth but that relies on me a) taking a good photo, and b) having the energy with a newborn to arrange and order the cards. Don't think that's going to happen so may just look at paperchase or somewhere.
