angels sorry I really didn't mean to panic you about being in ward. Honestly babe you'll be great, and the midwives will really take care of you, you'll be brillant.

I am in pain/discomfort most of the time now, especially from early evening onwards, moving position especially when sitting is really uncomfy. Mr Wiggles took dd1 to school this am, and I went back to bed when he came back. Apparently he came up to see me 5 mins after I'd went up I was out for the count, so he took dd2 out and I slept until 10.30am, I can't remember the last time I slept that well or late Grin

I have scan tomorrow afternoon to look at the placenta position so am hoping to have a sneaky ask about sex of baby!!

ledkr · 11/01/2011 19:02

Ah wiggles thats naughty youve come this far, cant remember did you want to know?
Is everyone assuming you want a boy, when i had ds 3 people almost comiserated with me!!!Never mind they said.
I have found it a bit with this being dh's only child his g'ma said "oh pity hed have liked a son to play football,i told her that ds3 is a ballet dancer so no guarantees.Shes a horrible witch anyway, she practically told dh not to marry me cos i was older and prob couldnt have kids.I am still wondering if my scans were wrong and its a boy.
Anyone else worrying about baby being ok as we reach the end,i am particularly worried re downs.Dint have cvs as had agood risk factor,

PDR · 11/01/2011 19:14

SBF Envy re spa! I am going to book some treatments for next week I think...

ledkr yes I feel like a 90 year old past about now (7pm) really... pain is right in my hips and groin area  I find it very uncomfortable in bed now as well and turning over is a major operation!

Ideally my waters will break in M&S as since I spend most money in there I have most to gain Wink Will hang out there a lot in my final week!

We have been looking at venues for a Naming Ceremony a couple of months after the baby is born ? t?is Wedding Season so although it feels a bit like tempting fate we do need to reserve somewhere as this is a small town. Did you know that to get a Humanist celebrant to conduct the ceremony is £165?! Shock I am bloody shocked and I am not tight with money at all! DH is ?thinking about it? Hmm So we?ll see and we?re going out for dinner tomorrow night at a possible venue. Anyone else planning a Christening / Naming Ceremony / Party?

wigglesrock · 11/01/2011 19:20

Ledkr I've wanted to know the sex with all mine, couldn't tell with dd1, got a hint with dd2 and with this one hospital had a really strict policy with not telling. A couple of mums at dd1 school have said "oh wouldn't it be nice to have a boy" and Mr Wiggles has got a lot of "hoping for a boy" at work but he's from a family of boys so he's like "no not particularly"

I'm worrying about the baby being ok as well, I've had no nuchal scans, CVS etc, just 12 and 20 week scans, but I'm really trying to relax about it, I know we don't do scary stories on this thread but I know 2 women who had thought all was fine with dcs because of scans and they ended up very poorly when they were born so I'm trying to think that anything can happen and that scans, tests are no guarantees.

wigglesrock · 11/01/2011 19:30

PDR I have heard seriously that M&S, Boots and Tescos are the stores that send you yummy gift baskets if your waters break there. A girl I know was having lunch with her husband in a restaurant when her waters broke and they sent her a huge bouquet and vouchers when baby was born. In all the panic they had left their coats behind and staff had passed on presents when they came to collect them.

We will have baby baptised maybe in April or early May, although we just do really small dos with family and a few friends. Thankfully or not Hmm my mum loves to have people round so she has volunteered to do something in her house, might take her up on it, means I would have nothing to do, apart from organise cake and we could leave whenever we wanted and no cleaning up Smile. A quick £30 for the priest for him to spend in the bookies on good causes and thats us!!

debka · 11/01/2011 19:44

Am also SO uncomfortable at night- plus just can't get off to sleep. I'm normally a 9 hour a night girl, but now I feel lucky if I get 6 hours straight.

Have had EVIL heartburn and been taking more of my medicine (prescription, minty and thick, makes me retch) (last night was 4 teaspoons then a massive swig at midnight). Anyway, been taking more, but my blooming stomach has been playing up, had tummy cramps and on and off diarrhoea and general feeling of crapness. Do you think the two could be related? (medicine and upset tummy).

wigglesrock · 11/01/2011 19:58

Debka reading out side effects from Tescos own indigestion/heartburn medicine " may include constipation, flatulence, stomach cramps and belching" Grin

roundthehouses · 11/01/2011 20:39

evening all, have caught up but afraid I can´t remember much. had a lovely afternoon with dh going round the sales while mum looked after ds, can´t remember the last time we had time alone during the day.

am v. restless at night but not really painful yet, just a lot of turning. No wards here, its a new hospital so you get your own room for first stage and then moved to delivery room, they also let dh´s stay over in your room with you which is lovely though i guess dh won´t this time as we have ds1 at home.. [pout] pants. i hadn´t really thought of that til i typed it. that really sucks.

ok well i am knackered after all that shopping so off to veg. god look at the time. make that off to bed shortly i think!

night all!

roundthehouses · 11/01/2011 20:41

oh forgot, suzym - i have the natal hypnotherapy cd and i like it, I should be listening to it more, i mostly fall asleep to it so relaxing it definitely is!

ZeroMinusZero · 11/01/2011 20:46

I'm not going to have a naming ceremony but have thought about asking my BIL to be a kind of godfather figure, although we're not religious so if anyone has any suggestions for a word that means "generally provides support throughout life" that isn't the word 'godfather' then do let me know.

ledkr · 11/01/2011 21:03

we are having a party in summer as we never had a wedding one.my drag queen friend is going to re new our vows haha cant wait to see dh families faces. We will prob have baby christened at local church and then party at the pub as they hire the skittle alley and it opens out onto a nice garden.
wiggleslol at the priest spending the money in the bookies.Ex sil who is my best friend too,had her dd when she was 27 and she has downs, they had no idea, maybe thats why i worry.
My back is really hurting,i put dd in bath and then started tidying her room involving putting her xmas stuff away.I then went to condition her VERY long hair and noticed she had a few head lice so then spent 20 mins combing thru with nit comb all whilst leaning over the bath.DH popped up and i said dd will have a bit of pizza before bed as she had eaten earlier, when i finally went down,he was sat on hs arse watching footy and no pizza in oven Angry consequently she is still awake and will be tired tmw.
Men are like kids soemtimes.

These Braxton-Hicks pains are something else tonight! Sheesh!

PDR · 11/01/2011 22:10

zero Guide parent? Mentor?

earlgreyismynectar · 11/01/2011 22:13

SuzyM where do you get raspberry leaf tea from? When can you start drinking it & does it work?! I would love to manufacture this baby to arrive 2 days late on the 11th (fat chance I know) any other tips to bring it on nearer the time? I remember consuming vast quantities of pineapple last time & hot curry's though they just gave me heartburn. Hot baths & hot sex ate probably the most effective means! (again fat chance no doubt! Lol!)

Hello everyone, I've spent about an hour here trying to catch up but sorry can't remember many specifics. Spa day SBF sounds lovely! I could use some pampering right now, I feel SO heavy! Glad your SPD is better, amazing they missed that but better late than never.

I had hours of Braxton hicks through the night, I found myself thinking could this be it? Brought it all back.

I loved One Born Every Minute last night! The screamer was very entertaining! In my v limited experience I wouldn't have said that was typical so first timers don't be freaked out! I was too busy sucking on gas & air to scream! Groans & moo's are the way to go, Ina's right!

Roundthehouses I sympathise with your transverse pain. I've had it for weeks (without realising it was the head giving me so much pain!) feels tender on the ribs like bruising and it's like having a permanent stitch when walking. BUT! since doing the all fours thing it has mostly been head down. Whenever I feel any sort of discomfort including backache I flip down into this position just for 2-3 mins and it makes all the difference. It just seems to take the strain off everywhere & being forward gives the baby the extra room needed to move. SO! Get on your knees & lean forward onto your elbows, I find it comfortable to fold my forearms and rest my head onto them & rock slightly. The idea is that your head needs to be below your pelvis. You can use it to stretch / flex your back too which can be a relief. Best done once DC's in bed! My DD doesn't bat an eyelid now though found it funny at first! Get up slowly from this position though cos you're kind of inverted, esp if your bp is raised.

All for now, Shameless calls!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 11/01/2011 22:25

zero i'm my friend's son's 'godless mother', neither of us are religious and thought it was a funny name! we had a little picnic with the other godless parents to celebrate, nothing official.

just back from antenatal and was okay but felt very pregnant and slightly old, i'm only 33!!! OH hated it, he missed aikido (martial art) to do group work about how to support me through bfing, brilliant Wink Grin

ledkr i thought you were saying your waters had gone and was Shock and a bit excited, doh! definitely getting those pains but also still get the weird cold sensation under my right ribs, every night. please tell me this is normal!

ledkr · 11/01/2011 22:46

that kind of rings a bell i think i get it.Ow massive bh at the mo,does anyone else feel them squeezing the bladder?

wigglesrock · 11/01/2011 22:55

I feel that everything is squeezing my bladder at the minute Grin Have managed to stay awake and watched Inception - think I followed it, so am feeling very happy that baby brain has not kicked in yet, although don't ask me to find my car keys!!!

earlgrey I got raspberry leaf tea from Holland & Barrett with dd2, not sure they did much, the capsules are supposed to be better than the actual tea.

ledkr · 11/01/2011 23:16

gosh wiggles you must be a genius,i couldnt understand that when i wasnt pg.i have been staying up late for a week now, domt know why.I also made lots of time passing plans this week and kind of wish id just led on sofa, think ill do that next week.It will be my last chance for about 5 yrs haha.
whoever asked about natursl induction,i had reflexology with dd and it worked.

40Weeks · 11/01/2011 23:55

Lol - all this baby does is pound my bladder! SO tender

Angels don't worry about epidural, the mws will steer you right and you dot want it too early as it wears off (although they can top it up)

Debka, didn't mean I thought you were silly! But as dh is away I would be travelling/driving 3 hrs on my own with the two boys so think I would be asking for trouble!

Ds1 loved his new preschool btw! So relieved. Was sad that ds2 missed him so much though and practically ran up there agIn to collect him! So sweet.

New baby chNge unit Rrives today and DH built it, looks lovy and can't wait to use it for real!

40Weeks · 11/01/2011 23:58

Ha ha sorry for crappy typing! Can't always see the preview pane on iPhone...

Wiggles am very envious you might find out baby's sex! I am desperate to know.

Also curious to know why prof ditched us Hmm

Hope you all get a better nights sleep tonight.

tadjennyp · 12/01/2011 05:18

Just been really naughty and eaten some gorgonzola on toast. Blush Must be much less of a risk at 36 weeks, surely? Confused

ZeroMinusZero · 12/01/2011 06:40

Good suggestions for alternative godfathers, everyone, thanks. You lot like your late night chats, don't you?

jenny I don't know anything about gorgonzola, is it definitely unpasterised? I'm sure it will be fine, I would say google it but that has the potential to cause you more worry than it's worth.

ZeroMinusZero · 12/01/2011 07:20

Oh, and did TPT last night and came out at 11!!! Shock Huge!!!

ledkr · 12/01/2011 07:54

yuck tad gorgonzola on toast.
Everyone sleep ok?I was a bit better propped up on 9,000,000 pillows.
40wks,why dont you ask mw for advice re visiting sis,is it just for few days, were you early with the boys? Are you engaged yet
I am driving but belly worryingly close to steering wheel as im quite short legged, only prob is i am finding it so hard to walk its my only alternative to get to school, ballet etc.Poor dh has been cycling in torrential rain.
Any other "biggies" finding driving hard?
*zero" i daren't do tpt as i may need a wee and t paper would be all used up Grin
