MsFC · 05/01/2011 21:27

Aw youse lot are lush innit. Unfortunately the BP didn't go down and they've kept me in. The FC has gone home and my TV doesn't work. I am in a ward with chatterboxes but later I shall be plugging in my hippo iPod. Now I just want them to keep me in and get it going tomorrow, but it still seems to be under discussion...

starnosemole · 05/01/2011 21:34

Hurrah polly!! Congratulations on lovely brand new girl baby!

Also- best of luck MsFC, hope all goes swimmingly tomorrow (or tonight to make scorps happy

OkieCokie · 05/01/2011 21:38

Pol it all sounds v similar. I was in and out the same day and we had fish and chips from chippy for our dinner too, the dinner of champions! Hope babybird gets the kips in tonight and you get some rest.

MsFC sorry you have to stay in. Try and get some kips in too (I found the Hippo cd sent me straight to the land of nod). Couldn't the FC have left a bottle of wine under the sheets for you for you to sneakily have a bit?

Medee · 05/01/2011 21:39

hurrah Polly!

Sorry you are still there, MsFC, but just think, this time tomorrow you could be snuggling your newborn.

rollerbaby · 05/01/2011 21:46

Mrs FC those bloody hospital tellies are the worst! think zen thoughts and tut alot when people make too much noise... Am so excited for you!

And Polly loving the fish and chip supper vibe. You sound as though you are taking it all in your stride!

Muser · 05/01/2011 21:50

Sorry you're still there MrsFC, do the hippo thing and chill out. I am so excited by imminent baby arrival!

Medee · 05/01/2011 21:55

Muse how was the AN class?

Muser · 05/01/2011 21:59

It was good. Not the most diverse bunch of people you've ever seen Grin but everyone seemed lovely. Woman who runs it seems very nice as well and was practical and down to earth, without being preachy. Said she doesn't care how we feed the baby as long as we're happy with it, and while she thinks homebirths are good she also things epidurals are fab.

It was mostly introductions and chats, think the real stuff starts next week. We did get to look at lifesize pictures of the insides of pregnant women. Now all the aches and pains make so much more sense. You could see the men in the group looking at the 36 week pic, then at their partner, and becoming about a million times more sympathetic!

PerfectDromedary · 05/01/2011 21:59

MrsFC Big hugs, my lovely. Hope the chatty people quieten down.

Pol You sound so zen! Congratulations!

Medee · 05/01/2011 22:01

that sounds good. Was it NCT?

Muser · 05/01/2011 22:04

Yes, NCT. I'm glad we signed up, think it will be interesting.

PrincessBoo · 05/01/2011 22:07

Oh bugger MrsFC have you got any earplugs? Hope the BP comes down tonight and you manage to maintain your zen. It's all go in the deli

rocketleaf · 05/01/2011 22:11

Hope you can get done hippokip mrs

Nct stuff sound interesting, my friend went to an NHS one yesterday which would be the one available to us and apparently they are cramming the 5 week course into 3 now to save money. So think we will do nct as well, it is more local too so hopefully might meet peeps a bit closer to home.

rocketleaf · 05/01/2011 22:12

Some not done ( iPhone fail)

Medee · 05/01/2011 22:12

We're NCT too, and having heard a bit locally about the NHS ones, am glad we have. I'll do the NHS ones too, if only to see a bit more of the inside of the hospital, but not seeing them as key.

Scorpette · 05/01/2011 23:33

Oooooh, exciting stuff, FC! So sorry to hear you're stuck in Gasbag Ward but a spot of cram-learning hippo stuff should take your mind off things:) Good luck and oh yeah... GIMME MY TWINZ (if not, Lozza and Rocket, I'm eyeing you both up for May PESH tripletzzz with me!)!!!

Faberoonie to see Casp

SilverSky · 06/01/2011 00:15

MrsFC feel your pain except mine was a woman in early labour screaming in the middle if the night "I need to push, this baby is coming now" over and over again with the MWs informing her "no you're not luv". Marvellous. Not.

NCT is fab. Our group is diverse too but we all get on well and it's brilliant to have other wimminz in the same boat as you at the same time. It's a fab support network. The classes were great and this week we are meeting up with all the DP/DHs and the course teacher to shoe off our PFB and recount our birf stories and shiz.

pols fish and chips = heaven on a plate ! Hope you get some well deserved snoozing time and again love unusual names so I do!!!!

SilverSky · 06/01/2011 00:19

shoe show! This bleedin' fone and it's bloody predictive text!

AlpinePony · 06/01/2011 04:54

MrsFC How's that white coat hypertension working out for you? Wink Eat everything they put in front of you - you'll either need the energy for laying or they'll slice & dice you and won't let you eat for days after... If it moves, eat it!

How to reduce blood pressure? Oh, I reckon not having a bunch of white coats taking your BP every 5 minutes for 4 hours, tutting and telling you that you'll be having your baybee a month early would be a good start!
