It's here Twinkle if you've not found it yet.

Have you had your choc yet?!

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 13:51

aw..twinkle..and me and dp were panicking last night about the finacial/emotional/time strain of just One..
It's all worth it though..we are aware we went into this not finacially stable.I am just out of uni, dp is only just starting his career, but life throws such things at you..and if we struggle we know it's all for a greater good!
Diege..laughing at the thought of you lying on your stomach on a 'nova cushion' with boobs in the hole..hahaha.
I am so missing lying/sleeping on my stomach too. My favourite position when we watch a film/tv is on my stomach on the furry rug, and it's just not the same on your side!
As for the frowning..bleurgh..forget it! Someone will always frown on you whatever you do or don't do..it's not worth the worry!

is anyone else finding it really hard to eat? i am frequently starving and make a nice big meal then can't eat more than a few forkfulls. maybe the hospital food has made my stomach shut down..hehe ("no more no more!")
makes me think of my mil who had told me not to breastfeed as i will regret the 'damage it does to your body' !?, and on the flipside my mum who almost had a heart attack when i showed her the mam bottles i had bought and panicked i wouldn't be breastfeeding..

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 13:54

oops for some reason the last two sentences of my post are in the wrong order, makes it not make much sense..hahaha..
the mil/my mum comments should have been attached to my comments about other people interfering with breast/bottle..

rodeo1 · 03/10/2005 13:55

I'm feel hungry all the time, I've just seen a post from a poster called 'Crumpet' and now I'm desperate for some crumpets and tea. Also want a Ripple as Twinkle's got me wanting one of those too! Argh!! And I can't be bothered to trudge to the shop for them!

OP posts:
babyonboard · 03/10/2005 14:01

aw rodeo!..this morning i really wanted one crumpet oozing with butter and one with jam..fortunately our shop is three doors away so it's easy! very strange though, i haven't had crumpets since i was small!
Though it wasn't somones name that caused it, just a random craving..but the power of suggestion is strong!
Just wondering if anyone has a recipe.. or just tips, for stuffed peppers? we have loads of them and some mince and rice, but I'm not sure how to cook them or what else to add?

Enthusia · 03/10/2005 14:07

WoooHooooo

Back from dentist and it didn't hurt a bit. Practised my breathing techniques and found as soon as I ungripped myself from my vice-like posture in the chair and started breathing instead of holding my breath (both of which I was unaware I was doing until I remembered NCT antenatal classes) it was much more relaxing and pain-free. Just waiying for last of anisthetic to wear off before I have my lunch!!!

ChaCha - I just bought the magasine with the free book as well, that is the one I normally get, so chuffed with the freebie. It is 'Pregnancy and Birth' someone asked, can't remember who it was now! As for heartburn, sorry no help from me, and I don't want to make you feel worse by saying I haven't had any yet!!!

Baby is definitely growing though, I now have to sit bolt upright all the time otherwise I can't breath and have this picture of a foot poking out through my ribs and getting stuck!!!!

Twinkle - the 11th is my EDD, wonder if I will join you on that date?

I must be getting bigger now as people are actually mentioning the fact that I am pg. Bloke in Tesco's asked me if he needed to worry as I had been queuing for so long, he didn't want me to give birth then and there.

Diege we were also told at the NCT to not bother with normal maternity pads bu to go for the always ultra nightime. Also I think it is up to you how you feed your baby, but can't help with the drug, have you googled it?

Right I can now feel my cheek so lunch is calling. Speak soon.

Enthusia · 03/10/2005 14:09

Sorry for all the mistakes in that, hope you could read it alright!!!!

hamster · 03/10/2005 14:46

Afternoon ladies,

Thought I'd pop in quickly and see how everyone is...

Pg is ok. Had enough now-but who on here hasn't. I have had to start wearing support stockings due to achy, swollen legs. Not the most flattering of underwear, but still.

Babyonboard-YES am finding it very hard to eat. I am sooo hungry all the time. Come lunch/dinner time I make a lovely meal and, as you said, 2 mouthfuls later-FULL. (for about 5-10 mins anyway!...by which time it's cold then anyway)
So unfortunately for DP, I will be making easy and light meals from now on. He can cook his own if he doesn't like it LOL.

Heartburn has become another big nemesis of mine during this pg. I even get it in the mornings now, as well as all day. Gaviscon? Smaviscon...nothing works. NOTHING.
I want this baby out now.

Enthusia-agree with the "can't breath thing". It's quite claustrophobic sometimes.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, now bare with me as this is embarrassing, but me and DP were making love, and I found that for the majority of the time I was in desperate need of a wee, so much so that I had to stop a couple of times. It's really made me wary now that I might wee on him during an intimate moment. I can see the funny side, just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same?

Well, on that rather unflattering note, I shall go again. A one year old to entertain(who may I add is now walking! {{pride}} )

Catch you all later
xx

Thanks for all the positive comments girls re: feeding. You're all right of course, but have been facing the midwife's wrath, as I'd done so well with BF first time around. May feel brave enough to mention my lifesaver Queen Gina Ford some time soon (another cross stare and tutt from MW last week!! - who do they think they are!).
Have just been lurking on Oct thread - I think we should thank our blessings that we do have time left! Very scary, but also exciting! Glad to keep bubs in for now! Off to Woolie's (sp?) soon to but tumbling tigger for dd's birthday. She's 3 on NOv 15th, (2 days after due date - we only do it once a year), but we have party booked at 'Wacky Warehouse' (hell's hell) for 23rd Oct. Hopefully before baby arrives! Chacha: re: breathlessness, just a thought...had same with dd's and it turned out my iron levels were a bit low. A course of iron tablets later and breathing returned!

twinkle1 · 03/10/2005 14:48

enthusia dont worry about the spelling, its prob just effects from local anaesthetic Pressume u had some at dentist??? if not blame it on preg hormones
feeling calmer now i have ate something and had a bath!!!

Diege · 03/10/2005 14:49

And thanks Enthusia for google tip. Will try and find a 'dealer'!

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 15:05

I've just been shopping and bought piles of cheese, breads, olives, veg, fruit , hummous, guacamole , ready cooked chicken bits and ham etc..I am going to try just making a big platter of the above in the morning that I can dip into as and when rather than cooking and throwing it all away.
I think my stomach is resticted so even though i feel starving It gets uncomfortable after just a bit of food.!
also got dp some ready meals..haha..he will hate it, but he likes a 'hot meal' after work, and knows I can't cook for him, exspecially if i won't eat it!. They are from m&s though..so not your bog standard types..(and as if he could complain when as a student he lived on 'costcutter' microwave curry)..heehhe
The urges to clean are getting too much..i've been trying to relax, but i keep putting on a film, then notice something needs dusting, or i could do some ironing, or that cupboard that spills out when you open it needs sorting...hehehehe

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 15:18

enthusia..lmao at your dentists trip..hope you didn't do your breathing exercises..might have scared them a little!
diege- lmao even more at 'doing it once a year'..and wacky warehouse is indeed hell!. my sister had her party there a couple of years ago and it was chaos..at least they have fun, but the worst part is trying to drag them away to eat, then controlling a bunch of hyperactive kids at a table..
good luck, hope you aked for 'supervisors' to help..my mum didn't and really regretted it!!
And ....finally....which free book is everyone talking about? did i miss something?, i buy all the mags every month so might well have it..
Damn , I bet you enjoyed the relief when I was in hospital...i can get carried away with these posts..hehehe

ChaCha · 03/10/2005 15:50

Diege - Funny that you mention the iron. I have recently been subscribed iron tablets for slight anaemia so you could be right! Usually get the odd case of heartburn in the evening which goes with antacid/gaviscon or just being sick! Gross, i know. It has now started in the mornings too before i've even had breakfast and takes a bit of getting used to.

BoB - Pregnancy and Birth Magazine. I make a point of NOT buying too many magazines but succumbed AGAIN this month and the freebie is great.
Do you want a recipe for stuffed peppers then? One of my favourites (but without the mince) and your shopping list is v.similar to mine - I love Greek/M.E food especially hummus!!
It is a great idea to make a platter of what you mentioned. We made something similar when we had some guests round and it went round a treat.
I'm not sure if we're supposed to eat it really but I made some feta cheese mixed with olive oil and tomatoes and put that out with the appropriate garnish, olives, sliced smoked turkey, hummus, baba ghanouj (aubergine dip) and lots of pitta bread - I took the plates out of the fridge in the morning and had a hassle free breakfast!!

Gosh, i've gone on a bit...!

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 16:21

cha cha..yum..thats always a winner with friends!nothing better than a big plate to dip in and out of whilst chatting..heheh (oh and the wine...can't wait for that!)
I've been alternately chopping up bits to put in the fridge and then reading or 'interneting'..but the chop/eat ratio isn't quite working out..hmmm
also..tot has been hiccuping almost all afternoon.Just on and off but very often..is this something to worry about?

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 16:24

Oh..and yes..i want a recipe for stuffed peppers..please be forthcoming!hehehe
maybe post it on 'our' recipe thread
also wha tis the book? need to know..
Plus is pregnancy and birth the 'posh' one? ..i.e doesn't look like womans own or such..hehehe

ChaCha · 03/10/2005 16:51

The magazine is 'Pregnancy and Birth' - Not sure what you mean about the 'posh one' but it's definitely glossier & heavier than the women's weekly mags (correct if am wrong pls).

The book that comes inside the plastic wrapping is called 'The Best Friend's Guide to Pregnancy' and is by Vickie Iovine. HTH

Sounds like hiccups to me...just been having some myself. That is the baby not me.

I will dig out stuffed peppers recipe for you as I make it as my dad taught me and I always seems to make a total mess. Have you tried stuffed courgettes too? Yummsy.

You're making me hungry again. Must make exit to the fridge.....

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 16:59

thans chacah..i meant.i think it's the one that is thicker and has, say a £100 pair of baby shoes in the 'fashion pages' hehehe
They all have such similar names..i mean it's not a stretch of the imgaination..'pregnancy and baby' 'baby and you' ' pregnancy, baby and you' etc etc..
i'll have to just get of my ass and go to whsmiths instead of being lazy and demanding information from you girls.hehhehee
Please try to get a recipe..though i already told dp he should expect takeways and ready meals only I really want to cook tonight...
IOthought just the rice, onion, chopped aubergine, mince, chopped tom's and randon herbs and spices will do the trick!?

ChaCha · 03/10/2005 17:20

BoB - Have just found a recipe for peppers stuffed with rice. Will start typing it out now on the November tasty treats thread. If you succeed do let me know...I never get them right!
Bon apetit!!!

Enthusia · 03/10/2005 17:49

BoB - see if any of these appeal as well, not my own recipes, sorry, not as good as ChaCha

recipes

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 17:57

chacha..already sang my praises and thanks on the tasty treats thread...
enthusia..i will look, but chacha's seems great for tonight..just need to get my ass up and start..hhehe..dp won't be home til 10 at least so no rush..

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 19:18

wel..dinner was going nicely..now I just called dp and he said to "stop fucking calling him all the time" so as soon as it's cooked i'll eat some them the rest will go in the bin..he can have a kebab or 'rat burger' .or anything..why am I even bothering to type.....

babyonboard · 03/10/2005 19:22

oh no..i read my thread back as I always do, to see how many spelling errors i made and i had expected the 'mumsnet bot' to censor it..ah well.we are all adults..
