Hi all, I think using the new stats is a much better idea, will save trawling through and updating the old ones, and will avoid causing anyone any pain to anyone if they are left on by accident. Hope you are well meltobe Smile.

dundun I have already told my boss; I figured that if I have any time off it will be better if it's chalked down to pg, rather than me slacking. He was really pleased for me, although we are a charity and in danger of closing down due to lack of funds, so expect he could do without the stress of paying for maternity cover next year! I don't think there is a wrong or right time to tell, go with your gut instincts I think.

Takethat sorry you're feeling so awful I second the advice about fizzy water - I mix it with Ribena Grin. I would also highly recommend boiled sweets. My nausea has really eased off the last few days, but I had mouth ulcers all last week from the amount of sweets I was sucking! It really helped though.

Jasmine I understand how difficult your situation is; I have two friends who have mc'd recently (9 and 11 weeks). Vintage members may remember me writing about the awful booboo I made with one of them; she was one of the first people I told; we met up for a drink and I blurted the news out to her 2 days after I found out. She then told me that she had mc'd a few weeks before and had an ERPC but had told no-one Sad. I felt truly terrible, but we have met up since and she is being very gracious and lovely, and is very excited for me.

My other friend is not such a close friend, but I knew about her miscarrying, and I emailed her this week and told her about pg before she potentially hears about it from other friends in our group. I am a bit worried that she has not replied yet, and am hoping it's purely because she hasn't checked her emails in a few days...

Millie my temper is so short with my lovely boy at the moment, I feel terrible about it some days! He is also watching loads more Cbeebies than he should be, because I just don't have the energy to play much with him Sad.

Daisyfields I really hope for your sake your birthmark doesn't start lactating! Imagine the extra cost in breastpads, and special 3-cup feeding bras!!! Grin. If it makes you feel any better, I am quite moley, and developed loads of new ones in my 1st pg, mostly over my boobs. They have not gone Sad.

Hope everyone else is well and happy, and very happy to hear about all the good news at scans. I am a bit worried because my son has been in contact with chicken pox last week; pretty sure I had it when young, but if he gets it there's still a chance I could catch it a second time, and I think it can be dangerous if you're pregnant. Apart from that, no news, just waiting for that scan letter to pop through the letetrbox now...

I am going to be daring and add myself to the stats, even though it's quite early days and I've not had a scan yet...

Sorry, cross posted with so many messages then. I quite like the idea of the stats list being in the main thread, especially once the babies start arriving Grin.

Mummynumber2 · 24/11/2010 13:52

Oh yes 8rubberducks! I forgot to mention boiled sweets. I've become completely addicted to them. I'm getting through packets and packets of them. I wasn't even aware they made them any more! If there's a 99p shop anywhere near you, you can get 2 enormous packets of them for, well, 99p! Wink

I think I'd prefer the stats to be on this thread too - it's easier than flicking about all the time.
Sorry about lack of personals - really struggling to keep my eyes open just now.

misshoohaa · 24/11/2010 14:24

2 hours! I'll try to get on to give you an update but off out after so might not be speedy or detailed.

Although looking at my belly in the mirror at work the bubba sure is growing! If the size of my pudge is anything to go by then all is well.
Sorry for the me me me messages, I can't help it!

Moog72 · 24/11/2010 15:52

Thanks sunny I didn't know that... I didn;t get any of these horrible symptoms the first time round.

I am only 10+3 today but by evening my stomach looks like I'm 6 months pregnant, honestly - not sure if it's because it's second baby or because I am eating too much (or it's twins!!). Iseem to remember people on the previous thread saying something similar but not sure if they were further along than 10 weeks??

mrsbigw · 24/11/2010 15:55

Hi all hope everyone is ok today?

Am bumbing myself ahead on the stats list as yesterdays scan moved me forward by 1 week, I know that makes me May 2010 but am not keen to leave here after all this time!speaking of stats Daisyfields please don't shut up you were trying to help us all with the stats which is much appreciated :)

moog I had headaches too especially when I was tired.

mrshedgie · 24/11/2010 16:13

Hello!

I'm feeling a lot better this week, though I did worry myself a bit over the last couple of days, thinking that maybe I'd miscarried; just felt like most of my 'pregnant' feeling had gone, and I hadn't felt anything I could definitelt call movement. I'm now 13 weeks 2 days, and got a doppler in the post today; had a listen and found the heartbeat! I was very, very relieved.

Gallstones and lung clot aside, I'm happy to be expecting and want to really start to allow myself to enjoy this pregnancy.

LisasCat · 24/11/2010 16:43

I stopped feeling pregnant last night too. Was lying on the sofa watching a film, legs up on other half's lap, and suddenly realised I felt normal! No sickness, my stomach didn't hurt, and lying in that position my tummy even looked flat and belly button had gone back in. I just told myself there and then this one wasn't meant to work out.

Then this morning I felt crap all over again. What a daft thing to be glad about!!!!

I only told other half of my worries today, once I felt re-assured they were gone. I think he really wishes I'd stop keeping the bad stuff to myself and only telling him the good. But then he also wishes I'd stop getting halfway through the washing up and quitting, stop putting my seed trays all over every piece of furniture in the garden, and stop getting in his way when he's overslept and is late for work.

He'll learn.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 24/11/2010 18:06

Anyone else ever heard of putting cabbage leafs in your bra to ease sore nipples? And if so have you tried it?

Am on track to not puke at all today. Please let this be the start of less pukage.

cep · 24/11/2010 18:17

Nomore I did this during first few weeks after birth of #1. Best if nicely cold. It did seem to help at least until they warmed up. fingers crossed about the puking.

cameli · 24/11/2010 18:37

Thanks supersunnyday for altering my EDD :)although I'm still not expecting a May or June baby.

DP is telling his parents tonight & i'm gonna tell my son on Friday so he has the weekend to come to terms with it - will tell my dad, sis & brothers next Thursday which will be my 35th birthday!

Right ladies i have decided i want to buy a doppler - any recommendations?

Hope everyone's scans went well today - fingers crossed for you all.

moomin156 · 24/11/2010 19:14

Evening all.....just had a lovely 90min kip, tucked up in bed. Now need to motivate myself to get out of the warmth and make some tea. Today is the first day i have felt queasy....seems strange as i am 11+3 ( hope i dont get put back at scan next week)
I have retched at so many things and nearly all have been smells.

Has anyone used a bumpband, a colleague from has lent me one of hers that she used prior to maternity wear or should i just go and buy some maternity jeans??
