I can't seem to post! This is a test!

moomin156 · 26/11/2010 13:16

mummy i have put my bump band over the top of my jeans ( with my top button undone) it hides that fact but also means that t-shirts and tops that feel a little short do not expose any flesh. Its like having a long vest on i guess........felt comfier today wearing it.

moomin156 · 26/11/2010 13:18

Although i was very sad to lose my 'family' name, to me it was part of marrying my DH to take his name. I feel proud to be married to him and in an old fashioned way i wouldnt have done anything different. But it is good that people have the choice these days......

By the way - bloody typical - no treatment at the dentist!

argylesocks · 26/11/2010 13:18

double barreling in my case would be cruel as well but you've inspired me to rethink the middle name so I can give some of my heritage as well.

and if eating peanut butter is bad then i'm in big trouble because peanutbutter toast has been making breakfast possible for several weeks now!

does anyone not really feel pregnant now that MS has passed?

I'm over the MS bit and post scan, but not fully bumped out yet... just fat! I'm sure I'm just giving myself more to worry about but i like lots of proof that its in there :)

Oh I see moomin, I was probably being a bit dim there. I might give mine a go tomorrow, i can see how they'd be good for keeping the tummy warm, my tops are definitely getting a bit short! I've completely given up with my jeans now as they don't do up at all, am I the only one starting to wear maternity trousers now? Blush

jasmine51 · 26/11/2010 13:56

Is it me or has the posting all been about food today?
Oh well, to join in then....I just had a naughty lunch of prawns on jacket potato which I had assumed was banned but am now delirious to find is ok as long as the prawns are from a reputable place, cooked and frozen. The marie roase sauce was a bit dodgy though as I didnt have any normal ketchup and had to use curry ketchup with salad cream...slightly odd combo but still yumaroony.

Leroy I am so intrigued about you and your DH's names since they are boys popular first names in America Grin Cool!

cep · 26/11/2010 15:30

moomin before ds i had no fillings after i had him i needed about 3. Was all due to the pregnancy apparently.

jasmine i wouldn't have a clue how to make marie rose sauce. sounds reallu nice though, (not to sure about the curry ketchup though)

i sent a text to my mw as yet again no appointment letter. Just need to sit and wait no for a response.

definately not in maternity wear yet, i'm hoping it's cause i lost a stone before getting pregnant and now i'm just filling that space.

i'm surviving on very little sleep today as ds woke up at about 3:20 and didn't go back to sleep till about 5:30 but ofcourse i was awake for longer as was listening out for him.

Appologies in advance but a bit of a rant. I am absolutely gutted, i can't find the scan pic from my epu scan the other week. i know i've been scatter brained lately but i'm positive that i put it in a particular draw. i've searched everywhere i can think of that it might have been, checked said draw, checked car, checked bed room (as i think i took it upstairs at some point to gaze at it) but i've checked all these, checked kitchen, living room, even drawers i wouldn't have thought of putting it in. nothing anywhere. DH asked if i might have thrown it out by accident, but it was still in the envelope and i always check envelopes before binning as goodness knows what i might have left in them, to be honest i'm also not that tidy, if i pick something up to be binned it's likely to have been in that place for weeks and then put ontop of microwave to go out to recycle bin and stay there for days before actually going out.
All i can think of is that if something has gone wrong at the 12 week then i've lost the only pic from when it was "alive" (i know that's really negative and in the next breath i tell myself not to be so stupid as nothing will have gone wrong.)

On a plus side i found the breast feeding dvd it was the nhs dvd fom bump to breastfeeding.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 26/11/2010 15:36

Oh Cep Sad I really hope you find your pic soon!!

I have only just sent off my maternity exemption form today!

cep · 26/11/2010 15:48

kara my excemption card came through within a couple of weeks.

sasamaxx · 26/11/2010 15:50

Hope you find your pic cep

Re medical exemption card - I never bother waiting for it and I've never had to produce it either Wink

BarbieLovesKen · 26/11/2010 16:01

MummyNumber2, No - Im in maternity trousers aaaaaaaggges now Blush but I've about a 5-6 month bump to be honest Shock

Leroy my skin is disgusting, I've usually quite clear skin but now have reverted back to teenage years and have loads of spots all over my face and, strangely enough, my legs!!. Very attractive. I also have dry patches too, which I thought was really odd.

Cep really really hope you find your pic soon. From my experience though, just stop looking for it and its guaranteed to pop up somewhere..

Is Marie Rose sauce not just mayonaise and ketchup mixed together? (cant cook so dont hold me to this).

So, got my scan date! finally.. its for 20th December. The same day that I'll be probably starting new (temporary) job (as I've been offered a temp transfer from HR due to problems with manager) So Im going to have to try change it. Rang earlier and of course, no answer, left a voice mail and no call back as yet. That was at 10am.

Its probably going to be even later now! even if I went the 20th, I would be 17+2 (great for a "12 week scan") and now I know Im going to have to wait even more.. aarrgh!!

cep · 26/11/2010 16:08

barbie that's awful, is that the earliest they can give you??? Did they say why?
I really hope so, it's only the thought that i'll have the ones from 12 weeks (if i ever get it and everything's ok) that's holding me together, daft isn't it over a picture Blush

cep · 26/11/2010 16:10

gillzz that's great news.

how many of us are finding out the sex when they can and how many want a surprise.

We're having a surprise again, although in some ways would make it easier knowing if we need different clothes etc but for the first few weeks won't make a difference as most stuff were bought neutral.

BarbieLovesKen · 26/11/2010 16:15

No, its not daft at all cep, I'd be upset too. Am really hoping you find it.

Thanks for the sympathy Smile am just disappointed. Its just the country is pretty much screwed here at the minute - now the IMF have been called in and the no confidence vote in the government means they are officially kicked out. Election very soon. Tis all very scary. Because of the way things are theres been huge cuts across the board, in the health service, including maternity care.

I keep hearing you can expect just one scan now Shock (I had 8ish on both my others!) and if you generally attend your GP at 5-6 weeks, you can expect them to have your appointment ready for approx week 14 (when it should be 12) because of the mess up in my GPs, where they forgot to send in my referal, until I noticed at 12 weeks! I now dont get mine until 17+2. Have just tried ringing again.. no answer.

Congratuatons Gillz!! It's a lovely feeling isn't it?

cep I feel your pain Sad - but I'm sure it will turn up somewhere. I know exactly what you mean about wanting the pic in case something goes wrong - we're still kicking ourselves for being too easily persuaded to wait until our next scan in 3 weeks for the photo, and for exactly the same reasons. If something goes wrong between now and then we'll have lost our chance.

But we are reassuring ourselves that a) there's only a very slim chance something can go wrong now and b) we got to see our baby on the screen and no-one can take that memory away.

I know it's not much of a consolation but I'm sure you'll find it and, even if you don't, you'll have another pic really soon.

leroy I don't have particularly awful skin but I do have unbelievably dry lips and my hair has gone nuts. It's naturally wavy (in a scarecrow kind of way) so I straighten it, but a big patch behind my left ear immediately curls up now within a couple of hours of straightening! I have to wear it up all the time!

I have eaten so many twiglets that I now hate twiglets. I'm left with rich tea biscuits, milk and peanut butter from the jar. Malnutrition here I come.

takethatlady · 26/11/2010 16:22

PS - sorry for you barbie. If I were you I'd feel an almighty tantrum coming on ...

On the plus side it'll probably be snowing on the 17th so you might not be able to get to work anyway!

BarbieLovesKen · 26/11/2010 16:30

cep, missed your post.

We've decided we're not going to find out.

We didnt with dd but did with ds. I think we found out because Ive terrible impatience and was dying to know. We wanted to be organised and decorate bedroom and decide on his name etc.

This time we wont. Although I still am very impatient, I have to admit to really missing the announcement of "its a xxxx" at the birth. I know it doesnt really matter but for us personally, having done both, we think the suprise is much nicer. It was great to be so organised and ready for ds but have to admit to being a teeny bit of an anti climax/ regret of finding out once sonographer had told us.

I think the one thing to be mindful about on this one is preference. If either dh or I had a slight preference for each gender we simply would not have found out. I think if your hoping, even secretly for either sex, if you find out when still pregnant that its the other you risk been disappointed over your baby. I think despite a preference, once that baby is out and in your arms you really wont give a damn what it is, if that makes sense.

We dont care what we get this time either way. Healthy would be brilliant!!!
