Well they have a bed for me and I am going in at 9am. SPeak to you all soon.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 21/09/2005 08:08

Good luck to all you still hanging on - im on the october thread and have 4 weeks left, so been watching you lot with interst!!

Kiwifruit · 21/09/2005 08:21

Congratulations Cabe, and welcome to Conrad !!

Good luck for today Mummyhill and Daisydot - I'll be thinking of you! Looking forward to hearing about your beautiful bundles...

Am sure that Champ is trying to squirm it's way out at the moment - keep getting poked! Especially just inside my left hip, which is odd, as baby definitely LOA, so must be reaching a hand behind it's head to poke me

Kiwifruit · 21/09/2005 08:24

Bubbles - slightly personal question (sorry!) - when you got your DH to do your lady bits, did you take the lot off, or just have a tidy up? Was thinking that maybe should go for a Brazilian, but don't know that I can take the pain (sorry if TMI [blush}), so was planning on a general tidy, with a bit more taken from the top in case have to have a c-section...

Redhelen · 21/09/2005 08:54

Hello all!

Back from c-section after only 2 nights in hospital (old hand me!) still really sad I failed in my natural labour plan - I had done so well! still sore and unlikely to be fully operational until weekend! had a bad night with Rachel last night - my milk is slow in fully flowing and she is very impatient! oh well back to bed with a pain killer!!!

Best of luck all - keep smilling

jessysmummy · 21/09/2005 09:05

CONGRATULATIONS cabe and little conrad!
Seems like every day we're having at least one new arrival - about time too!
I know you both are on your way to hospital so won't see this but am sending big hugs and a little prayer out to Daisydot and Mummyhill that all goes well today and that your little bundles will be with you shortly.
Glad to hear you're home Redhelen, if a little sore. Enjoy your time with Rachel. Don't forget to come back and "see" us from time to time - if you get a chance!

singleteenagemum · 21/09/2005 10:42

Morning all...

Getting some horrbile nights thrown my way
Didn't sleep till 4 this morning with some mild pains that were getting worse and closer together, but now after waking up they've completely gone back down. Decided to go for another long walk with the dog, come back and hoover, then get down on my hands and knees and scrub the floor, this baby will come out on it;s due dat

jessysmummy · 21/09/2005 11:06

Happy due date, STM and Katts (though I think baby may have already arrived)! STM - Sounds like you're trying to make it as uncomfortable as possible in there for junior. Hope the plan works!
Have absolutely no energy today - yes, even less than usual. Ended up in A&E last night until midnight with DD - some kind of gastro bug as it turned out. Poor little sausage was writhing around in pain. She was awake again this am before 7 so just gone back to sleep now. Think I'll join her. Have cancelled plans for the day in view of last night's activities. Think baby may have also cancelled any plans he/she had for arriving today also!

andif · 21/09/2005 12:15

Cross with myself for missing chance to wish Mummyhill good luck for today. She's probably in the thick of it now...There goes the phone again -luckily we have number display so I can screen my calls. I know people only want to say they're thinking of me, but I just have nothing to say! Beginning to feel that I will be the last one on this thread as everyone else seems to be having signs of labour.
Did everything poss yesterday - clary sage, RLT, ball bouncing, walking, sex, caullophyllum, the lot but nothing worked. A stubborn baby! Have heard several positive induction stories recently though, so maybe it won't be so bad and I'll have a baby by this time next week. Booked appt with reflexologist for tomorrow who has a great track record, so we'll see. Beginning to feel quite depressed.
Congrats to Cabe and baby Conrad. Beatie and PicadillyCircus must have had theirs by now!?

I AM BUMPLESS! Well, as much as you can be one day postnatally.

The sweep did the trick and I gave birth to my second dd at 4.48am on Tuesday 20 September - 12 hours after the sweep! Pains woke me at 11.40pm on Monday night and I went to the hospital at 3am when contractions were 4 minutes apart.

I didn't get the waterpool as someone was in it but everything progressed fast and furious and I don't think I really cared by the end of it.

DH and I just brought her home after I spent a sleepless night on the postnatal ward. Feeding is hit and miss but I'm hoping she'll get better at it soon

No name yet. We were going to call her Eva but people think it clashes with DD1s name which is Olivia as technically the end of OliVIA is EVA turned around. What do you all think?

jessysmummy · 21/09/2005 12:27

Andif - don't worry - I've got a feeling (or should that be no feelings whatsoever) that I'll be here til the bitter end of Sept and well into Oct!) Drinking so much RLT that I'm sure it's given me a headache.
Stay positive andif - today could be the day and as you say - worst case scenario, you'll have a little bundle one way or the other by this time next week.

andif · 21/09/2005 12:32

Congratulations Beatie! Don't take any notice of what other people say - stick to the name you want! What about Evie instead - may go better. TBH if you refer to them both in the same sentence, you'll probably say 'the girls' anyway.

OP posts:
jessysmummy · 21/09/2005 12:35

ooooh CONGRATULATIONS Beatie! Another little girl ! I really wouldn't worry about what people think of your chosen name. I know 3 Olivias and 2 of them get shortened to Liv or Livvie and the other gets called "Olive dearest" (35 year old cousin!). Think Eva is a beautiful name. And shame on those who thought to pooh-pooh your choice! Glad all seemed relatively easy. Enjoy your first few days together.
Shame so many people seem to be getting disappointed with not having a water birth for various reasons. Glad I hadn't set my heart on this.

singleteenagemum · 21/09/2005 12:46

Congratualtions Beatie....the name Eva is gorgeous, but if you;'re that worried about the 2 sounding similar how about just pronouncing it differently....like Ava, but with an E...dos that make sense?

Off to get on my hands and knees and scrub the floor, with lots of hip movements this baby will be out today!!

Redhelen · 21/09/2005 13:03

Hello ladies in waiting - keep that floor scrubbing going - I found nipple stimulation 5 minutes of every 15 minutes for 1.5 hours worked - but would say now I was more comfortable whilst preganant than I am with c-section aches!!! However I do expect to feel better soon!!! Eva/Ava a lovely name - come on you baby girls!!!!

moschops · 21/09/2005 14:14

hi girls............

as we've been through many ups and downs together over the last nine months i felt i needed to come here.................

my gran died yesterday.....

i've experienced the two most extreme emotions in the last 6 weeks. the arrival of my beautiful son is helping me cope with the loss of my wonderful gran. i'm glad she got to see him before she passed away.

jessysmummy · 21/09/2005 14:24

Oh Moschops very sad for you. What an emotional roller coaster. As you said, at least your gran got to see the new addition to the family and is now watching over all of you. Hope she didn't suffer. Take care x

bubbles2904 · 21/09/2005 14:45

KF, he just trimmed the lady garden to tidy it up then shaved but left a little there apparently, i couldn't see it so i didn't care. LOL
Beatie, wow congratulations, and welcome eva (have put eva because you seem like you love it and thats all that matters). but just for the record i think it's beautiful. we actually had that on our list but with dp's surname didn't sound right
Moschops, really sorry for your loss, it certainly has been a emotional year for you. hope babe and family are ok xxx
Stm, good luck with the scrubbing, i have a mental image of you on the floor LOL

andif · 21/09/2005 14:48

Moschops, how sad . It's amazing how often it happens like that - she will have been so pleased to see Lemmy born safely. Try to hold on to the happy memories - I still miss my Grandma 4 years after she died.

Have been having a mad burst of energy but it's happened too often before to make me believe it's a sign of anything to come.... Decided to move a chest of drawers that I've been nagging dh to do for ages, then found it had left a mark on the wall so ended up repainting half the hall! Then a rush to the loo for the runs (sorry if TMI) so could be promising..... Now need to start clearing up before kids need picking up.

{{{{HUGS}}}} Moschops

Scrubbed the floor now...was a little tricky getting back up and it doesn't seemed to have done anything

Just about to move all the furniture back so that might help then going to try and make a home-made tomato soup, anyone know of any good recipes...i have Delia Smiths but dont really like her stuff

Kiwifruit · 21/09/2005 15:02

Moschops, so sorry to hear about your gran {{{{HUGS}}}}. Take care of yourself.

Beatie - CONGRATULATIONS . I think you and DH should choose the name you love - ignore what everyone else says!

STM - when you've done your floors, feel free to pop around to my place and have a go at mine... My defective nesting instinct is preventing me from doing anything remotely resembling cleaning .

Andif - I have no signs at all that labour might be imminent, so don't worry, you will not be alone!

Had all my bits waxed - not as painful as I thought it would be, but did wimp out on the Brazilian . Still, all a bit tidier now... Just bought a pineapple at M & S, so off to chop it up and start munching. Knowing my luck it will give me heartburn, and nothing else!

jessysmummy · 21/09/2005 16:58

All quiet on the Sept thread front...hope everyone off having babies!

Redhelen · 21/09/2005 17:07

moschops - SO sorry to hear about your gran.take care xxx
Strange I have actually been maganing more sleep than I had before Rachels birth - but feel worse for it!!! Also anaemic again - so do ask the hospital to tell you asap if your iron levels are low as it can take hold fast.

Kiwifruit · 21/09/2005 17:15

Sadly not, Jessysmummy . Am sitting here trying to munch on pineapple, but as predicted, it's only giving me heartburn

andif · 21/09/2005 17:17

KF - I found the same. Apparently you have to eat about 7 for it to have any effect anyway!!! How's your blood pressure?
