Quick message to say that Alice (middle name as yet undecided) arrived at 1:26pm on Tuesday 20th September, weighing 7lb 11oz .

She is very lovely indeed and so far DS seems to quite like her. Labour experience much better than last time and am very happy that I didn't have to have any stitches .

Came out of hosptial yesterday and will write more later - DD (funny to write that) currently asleep and DH and DS have gone to the park.

Congratulations to any other babies born recently and labour vibes to everyone else.

PiccadillyCircus · 22/09/2005 10:52

Just read a bit of this thread - Beatie I promise that DD's middle name won't be Eva . Don't want to appear to be copying too much (went into labour after sweep and have Alice born on 20th September.)

beatie · 22/09/2005 11:03

Congratulations to the Hills. We need some more boys to even things out.

PC - are you sure you're not me?! Our little girl Alice was born on 20th September weighing 7lb 12oz - although initially the midwife converted the kgs to 7lb 11oz!

We have chosen Eva as Alice's middle name. For a day she was Eva Alice until we decided Eva clashed too much with DD1's name.

So, the sweep worked for you too then? I had my sweep at 4.30pm and then Alice was born 12 hours later at 4.48am.

Have I said congratulations to Cabe yet? I don't think so. How are things going?

Feeding is going quite badly here (it's hit and miss) but so far I am not stressed about it and I feel happy that Alice is getting enough to eat. I think my milk is in already!

I think it is time I joined the September post natal thread but I'll be sure to keep coming here to check the progress and keep the ladies-in-waiting company.

singleteenagemum · 22/09/2005 11:07

Good morning everyone,

Blimey this week seems to be turning into a busy one for all us mums to be...i can but hope.

JM - no unfortunately am still resorting to scrubbing the floors, to no avail Anything happening with you hun?

Will get a pineapple whilst i'm out later and maybe some RLT. Keep getting stitch like pains in my side, anyone got/had this? what is it?

Congratulations family Hill, glad you're all well...let us know the gory details!

jessysmummy · 22/09/2005 11:18

CONGRATULATIONS PC - another beautiful little Alice! Glad all went ok. Am pretty certain it will be a sweep that encourages my little one out but that probably won't be until term+10 appt on 4th Oct.
STM - sorry to hear that you're still waiting. Have been drowning myself in RLT for a few days now to no avail. Having a few tightenings (usually in late evening). Uncomfortable but not painful - might just be indigestion???

Kiwifruit · 22/09/2005 11:37

Congratulations PicadillyCircus, and welcome to Alice!!

Funnily enough, DH suggested Alice for a girl the other day, but it doesn't sound quite right with his surname, so vetoed it (sounds fine with mine, and I really like it, but doen't even want to start going there re which surname our children will have - always ends in a major row! ).

OK ladies, I have noticed a light pinkish discharge (at least it's that colour on the loo paper, but looks dark on pantyshield) - it's watery, not goopy. Not there everytime I go to the loo. Noticed it about 9:40am. Have a bit of a dull ache in my lower back. Do you think my waters might be leaking? Seem to remember that pink isn't a good colour? Have consultant appointment at hospital at 1:30pm, so will ask about it then. Am actually hoping this isn't it , as would quite like one final weekend with DH before baby arrives. Am I completely mad??

beatie · 22/09/2005 12:04

KF - Could it be a bloody show? Sounds promising if it is. Good luck when you see your consultant.

Redhelen · 22/09/2005 14:35

WELL DONE - & Mummyhill

Good luck to all still waiting - STM I'll grab a mo later and post some details - looked like things were going pearshaped at one point but ended up having the most fulfilling birth experience - harder than DD's birth though!!!

Kiwifruit · 22/09/2005 16:24

Hi - it's been very quiet on here today - hope you're all off having babies...

Just got back from seeing the consultant. My BP is up again , but they aren't pushing the induction scenario at this stage. They've upped my medication, and I have to go back in for monitoring on Saturday - if it's still up then, then it's game over, otherwise they will continue to monitor every 2nd day. Much better result than I expected, so am feeling reasonably happy. While I was there she did an internal, and my cervix is soft and forward, but still 2cm long and closed. Since then I've had a small show, so you never know, might not need to be induced... In the meantime am trying to get an appointment to see Franch's accupuncture lady tomorrow...

Just texted a woman from my yoga/NCT class to see if she wanted to catch up tomorrow, and she had a baby girl by emergency c-section on Monday. That's the first 3 babies from our NCT class born via emergency section..

Hope everyone else is doing OK

zoezebra · 22/09/2005 17:06

Been lurking on the Post Natal sept 05 thread, which hopefully you will all be on soon!! Felt like I was gate crashing this one as have already had mine!
Congratulations Beatie, Piccadillycircus, Mummyhill and Cabe - I turn my back on the thread for a few days and 4 of you have popped .
Will keep checking in on the Septemberers and wishing you all lots of luck for your day xx

bubbles2904 · 22/09/2005 17:08

hi everyone, thinking of you all. i leave for 24 hours and theres 2 new babys announced.
beatie, lovely name xxx
mummyhill and pc, congratulations to you both and huge mumsnet welcome to alice and baby boy hill. can't wait to hear the name you've decided on.

singleteenagemum · 22/09/2005 17:11

Hi again ladies,

Just been to Holland and Barrett and bought some RLT capsules...they taste gross but hey whatever it takes. Not had any pain still today...going for long walk with dog later and might try and persuade DNM (new man!!) to come over for some affection as apparently even just cuddling can help

On the upside (i think) my bowels keep emptying frequently so...good news on its way...fingers crossed. Have really strong feeling it'll be late Saturday/early Sunday...but wont get my hopes up.

You ok today JM?

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 17:31

The tablets taste gross?? I'm still drinking the tea and liking it.

I've had vague crampy pains - but it's sometimes a bit difficult to differentiate between crampy pains and the generalised pain in my pelvis (which prevents my walking the dog - who is now getting very grumpy about the whole arrangement - i.e. having to wait for my husband to come home).

In the interests of super-powdered nipple twidding, I got the breast pump out last night and I swear to god that has some effect. After a couple of minutes of using it, the bump feels tighter and the peanut starts wriggling. I find it slightly disturbing that I'm starting to produce fluid, but I guess I'll get over it...

jessysmummy · 22/09/2005 17:57

Still here, STM, nothing happening, though am experiencing the bowel thing too. If this baby's on time I should be joining you on Saturday! have fun with DNM tonight.
Managed to get out this pm in the hope that waters would break in the middle of the Trafford Centre but no luck!
DH was told today by project manager for his current contract that it would be most convenient if I gave birth at the weekend as they are intending to roll out a new system 2nd week in Oct when they really need DH to be back at work. Well, I'm already doing everything I can to help Mr Project Manager!!
RZ - I quite like the RLT, too, though hasn't yet inspired me to get out the breast pump!
KF - Hope the acupunture works!

singleteenagemum · 22/09/2005 18:06

RZ - you've only just started producing fluid? i must be wierd, got fluid from 20weeks looms very milky now and go through about 5 breast pads daily, forget the pump i need them sucked...lol

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 20:36

STM - Ah, but you've been getting Braxton Hicks for ages too, haven't you? I've only just started getting those in the last couple of weeks - and only then in the wee small hours of the morning. I'm a bit funny about breasts: I do cleavage, but I don't really like them touched - so the whole fluid/breast-pump/nipple going in and out with the suction business is something I find rather unappealing. Never mind. Will persevere.

jessysmummy: employers are funny about the whole birth thing - like it's an event that can be fixed in the calendar. Most of my husband's colleagues are older men, with children of their own, but there's one man the same age and one (younger) intern over from head office. The former asked him a while ago "Has your wife decided when she's having this baby yet?" The latter asked today "Isn't today your wife's due date? Is it 100% guaranteed that she gives birth on her due date?" I feel they have a steep learning curve ahead of them somewhere...

singleteenagemum · 22/09/2005 20:51

That is very true RZ.

Sorry i haven't written about another country today...haven't had time to read and find a good one....tomorrow...unless baby comes tonight (STM sits with everything crossed and prays!!)

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 21:08

STM: What are you doing posting at this hour?? I thought you had a planned canoodle (now there's a good old-fashioned word) with the new man...?

singleteenagemum · 22/09/2005 21:30

RZ - i was hoping for one but he couldn't make it after work

Guess i'll be fondling for myself again tonight (sorry if TMI)

Why are you still up?

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 21:44

Because my bedtime isn't til ten (some difficulty staying awake after then - and I do try and make some effort to be sociable). Also - we have broadband...

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 21:45

Not sure where you get this energy from for dating... I just want to sink into comfortable jammies at the end of the day.

singleteenagemum · 22/09/2005 21:51

i have to do something that makes me feel like the situation i;m in is at least a little bit normal. We usually just stay in and snuggle up on sofa...and he makes me tea!!

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 22:01

Mine makes me Horlicks... which is a bit of a granny drink but I'll swear it helps me to sleep.

RedZuleika · 22/09/2005 22:06

Right. Time for bed, said Zebedee. And with the state of my pelvis, it'll take me a good ten minutes to get up the stairs...

Night night.
