Wow, that's amazing Smokey!! Huge congrats to you (totally missed somehow that you were having twins, sorry!), and huge respect to you giving birth naturally AND to the second baby breech! Totally totally awesome. :) Hope your milk comes in quickly (I would imagine so with double the stimulation going on!) and feeding settles down for you. You shouldn't feel guilty about not having much time to spend with your other DCs at the moment, I can't imagine how much energy it must take up having twins let alone other children too! And it's not forever, you've only just come home with TWO new babies, so no one should or could possibly expect anything more of you than eating sleeping and feeding the new babies for at least a couple weeks! Congrats again, what a lovely birth story!

bunnygirl80 · 09/11/2010 21:37

Congratulations smokey

llandb · 09/11/2010 21:58

Congrats, smokey! :)

Think my laptop's on the blink - I knocked it and the fan is making unhappy noises. DP (techie person) said if I wanted to post anything, I'd better hurry!

So much for plan to catch up on thread :( - hope to be back :)

Goodnight, bumps & babes!

comtessa · 09/11/2010 21:59

Happy Birthday JFly. Sounds like a lovely day and hope you have a nice dinner with your DH.

Wow that induction worked like magic Smokey! Many congratulations on your boys. Hope the in-laws aren't too much like hard work and you're able to put your feet up. Thanks for the feedback on QMC.

Rinnyx · 10/11/2010 01:21

Hi ladies short post as on my phone in the hospital
Had baby boy Isaac Chi Hin at 10.21pm weighing in at 6lb 8oz

BorisTheBold · 10/11/2010 03:09

Congrats to Rinny and Smokey - well done ladies!

Today's quick installment from me: in hospital for ECV to turn baby head down, following the cancelled section of 05/11 as it was discovered baby had moved head down, before changing its mind and returning to breech as at 08/11.

Gowned up, bloods taken, cannula in - final screening to check position before beginning ecv and yep baby has turned again and is now currently head down.

Can't progress with induction there and then as they'd discovered some antibodies in my blood and need to arrange for two units to be prepped for tomorrow (now today)...

So upshot is, that I am to be induced today as the doc has concerns about cord prolapse as the baby still seems to be very free floating, despite its size. Fingers crossed the wee bugger doesn't flip between now and 7.30am!

Wish me luck guys, this unbeleivable saga will hopefully come to a fabulous end later today.

blondecat · 10/11/2010 06:40

Cingratulatioins Rinnyx!!

Boris keeping fingers crossed for you. Hope everything goes well today - smoothly, quickly and to plan.

I am getting a nasty sore throat - hope it doesn't get worse. I know it's a stupid question but would they still do a c section if I had a bad cold?
Also toilet blocked - that's twice in one month
Condensing pipe from boiler - blocked, so heating and hot water busted.
When will they be fixed - don't know.
Will the job be done properly - don't know.
Sad

Seeing consultant today. Hope that won't be more bad news.

umf · 10/11/2010 08:59

Congratulations rinnyx! Hope it all went well.

All the best for today, Boris. Wow, you've really been messed around!!

blondecat what IS it with this thread and bathrooms?? I'm getting v nervous about ours.

comtessa hope you're enjoying your elevated sleeping arrangements.

Saw MW yesterday, BP still ok despite stress, so relieved! She's not supposed to see me again until 41, but will come here just before 40 and do a sweep - if not popped - which is nice of her. Need to go into labour on 20th if want her to do the birth.

But DS is at home with high temp today, DH has meetings, and my mother has something important at work. So expecting waters to break at any moment.

Mibby · 10/11/2010 09:01

Congratulations Rinnyx, now I really am Envy :)

Fingers crossed for you Boris

sarahbuff · 10/11/2010 09:12

Congratulations Rinny!! Hope you and babs are well and able to head home soon. Lovely name!

Hope all goes well today Boris! What a naughty baby!!

grinningbee · 10/11/2010 09:16

Congratulations Rinny and good luck today to Boris and your amazingly acrobatic baby!

I have a horrible cold too Blondecat. Also a constant tickle in my throat making me cough loads which is not funny. Hey ho. Hopefully it will be over before his lordship arrives...

Dd is currently walking around with a pair of my knickers on her head. It's going to be one of those days! Grin

4madboys · 10/11/2010 09:29

YAY more babies! congratulations smokey (kudos on having twins vaginally!) and well done Rinny (we will have to meet up once i have had madame!)

smokeybacon · 10/11/2010 09:29

Congrats to rinny. Lovely name too.

Fingers crossed for you today boris. Hope you get to meet your little wriggler shortly.

My 2 darling boys are upstairs snoizing. They have been fabulous and only woke once for a feed last night at 1.45am and then slept till 7am.

DS1 and 2 woke us at 6am, but I was able to have some nice time with DS2 until my boobs were needed by the twins.

Doula coming today too, so hoping for a nice relaxing day!!!

grinning love the picture that you have described of your DD and knickers on her head. She sounds like a character!!

cluelessnchaos · 10/11/2010 09:34

Congratulations rinnyx, boris there cant be too many more twists and turns (excuse the pun) and lovely birth story smoky.

I have 2 sick girls at home today and dhs car has a flat tyre that I need to sort out, feeling a bit pukey and dizzy, hoping its not the girls bug.

grinningbee · 10/11/2010 09:46

A character is a good way to describe her Smokey. She has since removed them and emptied an entire toy basket, out of which she found a long dead chocolate brownie which must have been hidden weeks ago. Mmmmm yummy.

Clueless Hope you avoid the lurgy.

I need someone to kick my bum into getting the hospital bag packed. Still not done it...

PrivetDancer · 10/11/2010 10:01

Wow - congrats b00kw0rm, Loooopy, celestinelass, fromheretomaternity, smokey (yay the twins are here :o that is awesome that you had a natural birth with them too!!), Rinnyx

Looopy - intrigued about your homebirth ending with an EMCS, just from the perspective that it's good to know that if things don't quite go right at home then things still turn out fine

Boris - OMFG! that is one contrary baby :o
I think I would just be demanding a csection by now!! Once the baby is here then I'm sure these few days will just seem quite entertaining to look back on, but you must just be screaming by now!

I'm only 38+4, no signs of anything here just yet. Did have a curry and pineapple yesterday though :)

JFly · 10/11/2010 10:04

Congratulations, smokey, and well done! Here's a gold star for being such a champ in the delivery stakes! :)

Congrats to you, too, Rinny! Look at all these boys.

Boris...well, good luck?!?! Your little one is causing a bit too much grief - hopefully will be a lovely, calm, easy baby to make up for all these antics!

Who was having lots of "goo"? Probably show coming away. I never had a show or waters break, so hoping for a more dramatic sign this time around!

lulastic · 10/11/2010 10:37

Congrats smokey and Rinny and others I may have missed! (lots to keep up with now eh)

I just got a birth ball (quite late in the day, yep) and am loving it! Hopefully I can jiggle this baby right out on due date (Friday)

comtessa · 10/11/2010 10:48

Congratulations Rinnyx! Love the name too - Isaac has been on my list for years but sadly DH not keen. Oh, and we're having a DD. So apart from that! :) Hope everything went well for you.

Good grief Boris! Here's hoping that things can go smoothly for you now and that you can be snuggling with your little one soon.

Blondecat sounds awful. Are you renting or do you own the house? Good luck on getting that sorted and hope your cold eases. Recommend hot water with honey and lemon to taste, and a spoonful of glycerin (if we're allowed that...?)

Umf loving the bed, thanks. I'm kind of achy anyway in my legs, back and hands, but slept as well as can be expected. The best thing was not having to heave my vast weight up from the floor for all the bathroom trips. My long-suffering knees are very grateful.

Here's a kick for you grinningbee (Kicks air - overbalances slightly due to ridiculously huge bump - rights herself and feels very proud at height of kick)

Hope everyone else has a nice day planned. My in-laws are arriving today. FIL's birthday last week so making birthday cake and his favourite UK meal (bangers and mash). It will be a very exciting reunion as we haven't seen them since March (DH from USA) and I'm so looking forward to it.

b00kw0rm · 10/11/2010 14:16

Hi ladies,
Lovely to hear about all the new arrivals- I was thinking about you smokey over the weekend when we drove past QMC! Glad the induction went swimmingly Grin
Day 8 with James- things starting to settle down a bit and feel like we slowly getting the hang of feeding, but DD starting to be a bit more jealous, especially when I'm feeding him... just says "mummy cuddle" when I'm trying to get James latched on and I'm starting to stress about how we're going to cope when DH is back at work next week Hmm
Does anybody know if we have a postnatal thread yet? Don't want to scare bore you pregnant ladies with tales of sleepless nights and leaky boobs!
Good luck to all- will try and read back a bit to see what I've missed.
xxx

Jenni363 · 10/11/2010 16:15

Congrats to all new mums! This is getting so exiting with all these new arrivals.

I'm now on my 3rd day after due date ... Have had bit of a period like cramps in my lower tummy. Still no sign of the show.

Baby is wiggling about so much all the time! I thought they weren't supposed to have much room at this stage Hmm

llandb · 10/11/2010 21:29

More congrats to more new mums! :)

Am desperate to read the thread and see who's done what - but I'm busy packing as the pre-labour here has ramped up a notch and I keep flipping and flopping as to whether to call the delivery unit. Hope it's a false alarm as I was counting on having another week and a half to sort the house out!

Hopefully post soon with no news and chance to read thread :o

PrivetDancer · 10/11/2010 22:25

Ooh llandb you are my due date buddy! This gives me hope :o
Good luck!!

OP posts:
llandb · 11/11/2010 01:17

Privet me due date twin! Sorry to disappoint :o but am still here

But still up because I am panicked that if I don't sort out this tip now then I will be stuck with it when the baby comes nesting (I don't do nesting - just panicky 'help, I have a deadline'!)

Every time I think I'm thoroughly sick of being up the duff, I remember that I'm not ready for a newborn!

Fenouille · 11/11/2010 06:10

Congrats rinny and smokey and any other new arrivals I might have missed.

Also Boris hope the saga came to a successful conclusion yesterday.

Thanks to whoever it was (sorry, it's early!) for your encouraging words about ff. Know it's not the end of the world but I'm so lazy I'm already fed up of washing bottles out :) Anyway they won't remove Norry's tongue tie so I'm back to trying to bf with those sexy plastic nipples as our last resort. Wish us luck as he seems a bit intimidated by them (well, who wouldn't?) Grin
