New trimester, new thread. Here's to us becoming grumpy, impatient, fat and uncomfy while counting down the days... :o [hhmm] :o

:( My belly button's been out for about two months now :( That reminds me though, I must get DH to take another side-on photo of me getting bigger and bigger :o Hmm

BabyBubba is loving Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli Crisps! :o

Ahh, knitted blankets and cardigans - we got given sooooo many (some hideous ones!) for DD1, but nobody bothered for DD2, and doubt this one will get a look-in either :(

I'm still waiting for mine to pop out. It's been at that 'almost there' position for weeks!!

BubbaAndBump · 23/11/2010 21:17

Mine looks like a silly nose sticking out!! Blush

LadyBuzz · 24/11/2010 08:23

Mine is nowhere near - you still can't even see the bottom - it didn't with the DS's either.

bubba DS2 didn't get a look in either, I guess cause this one is a girl it might be a bit different and SIL has gone a tiny bit mad making blankets and sewing bows and ribbons onto anything i don't hide she can!

We will hopefully get a start on painting the nursery this weekend, I have baby stuff everywhere and i'm itching to get it sorted!

RunningKatie · 24/11/2010 13:39

Midwife this morning - baby is head down and nicely positioned. The student midwife couldn't feel the heart beat which was a scary moment but given that the little darling had been kicking me I knew he was just playing hard to get! :)

flora & zippy - you're scaring me now, I'm not starting antenatal classes for another week.

Sorry to whinge but my flipping maternity cover bloke is off sick again this week, I'm so grumpy about this as I'm getting increasingly dumped on. DP says I must stop trying to do it all and say no, which I would but I can't help feeling far too responsible. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

saltnvinigarcrips · 24/11/2010 18:05

Have had a lovely day today as had a powercut at school so everyone got sent home :o Had a lovely thai curry, 2 hour nap (very greedy I know) and then a hot bath with candles. Now I just feel like going back to bed but have an observation on Friday boo hoo so now got to plan plan plan. Hope everyone else is well. I was looking at the weather forecast earlier and it is predicting light snow on Saturday. I'm secretly praying it'll come on Friday heavy so I can have another day off :)

FloraPost · 26/11/2010 16:00

So, first two NCT classes done. The teacher is barely woo at all and the other people seem nice. Most women in the class are finishing work at Christmas; humph. I feel much better about cornering the GP after hearing about what should happen and the service that others who live near me are getting.

RunningKatie · 26/11/2010 18:55

Had a day off work - just what I needed to relax a bit and picked up a prescription for gaviscon. Fabulous!

I'm meeting up with a pregnant friend on Sunday for a gossip session too.

Salt - the 2 hour nap sounds amazing, I'm very envious.

Flora, good luck cornering the GP, not good that you're not getting the right level of care.

Gosh jjkm you're having a rough ride of it. Good to hear your girls are putting on weight steadily, we're all keeping our fingers crossed for you all.

I'm convinced I'm going to give birth to an octopus - last appointment the GP couldn't work our what bits were sticking where - there certainly seems to be a lot of them everywhere! Shock :o

How's everyone else feeling? I've turned into a crabby nightmare for my DH in the past couple of weeks Blush

Pootle78 · 27/11/2010 19:59

I think I'm getting my first stretch mark :(

Projectile vomiting has returned too.

Not a good week for me, hope everyone is having more fun than me

FloraPost · 27/11/2010 20:11

Poor Pootle, I'm so sorry you're that sick again. I feel like a bag of spanners too, but nausea is a relatively minor part of the panoply of gripes now. Only 2 months to go (fingers crossed).

Tiny Flora hasn't sat still all day and has given DP some proper hard thumps. I walked just over a mile to the shops this morning and it has poleaxed me! Spent the whole afternoon on the sofa drifting in and out of sleep; pathetic.

CupcakesHay · 28/11/2010 16:27

JJKM Sorry to hear about more illness... but pleased the twins health is looking up. When are you going to tell us their names :)

poor poor pootle - i have images of little britain style vomitting. Not nice. Ph well - not long to go.

And so NOT pathetic flora - remember we're about 7 months+ pregnant now, so a mile long walk might take it out of you!

I'm in cardiff at my Bro's and SIL's. Just stuffed Blush my face with roast dinner- literally no room in tummy for baby - he keeps kickign to make room. My friend came down for weekend too - so it's been fab... but quite icy, so i've been walkign slowly and sensibly everywhere. And baby keeps waking me up at silly o'clock.

I'm actually dreaming of getting to Devon this time next week and just sitting and doing nothing (well, after the final uni assignment)

How's everyone else doing?

BubbaAndBump · 28/11/2010 18:55

Weird cramps going on quite regularly here this afternoon Shock - panicked us just a little bit so have now packed my hospital bag just in case!!! Don't dare tell anyone in RL other than DH as they'll panic unnecessarily. Sure it's just braxton hicks with a bit of oomph for good measure :o

Poor pootle with the puking. I have much less sympathy though with the one stretch mark (that's coming from someone with a billion zillion stretch marks all over my tum :( ) :o Wink

OP posts:
Pootle78 · 28/11/2010 19:21

Thanks, just think I was having a really bad week, finished last night with me crying in bed telling hubby how crap I am at being pregnant and him being so sweet to me it made me cry more!

Cupcakes it is similar, but at least the floor and the wall in the bathroom have had a good clean (sorry TMI!)

Bubba I've had some period like cramps and have just thought, god I haven't missed them for the last 7 months - should I be worried?

Fingers crossed for a better week!

RunningKatie · 28/11/2010 19:30

jjkm so sorry to hear you've been poorly again. Hope that the girls are doing ok and you're getting better.

Pootle - one stretch mark? You lucky thing, apparently some people are just prone to them and it appears I'm one of those people! Sympathies though on the projectile vomitting, that really doesn't sound pleasant at all.

I've been housebound today, DP says I'm not going out as it's too icy underfoot. So, instead I've shredded about 9 years worth of paperwork and I'm listing all manner of stuff on ebay.

Bubba, oh blimey, we've started on the hospital bag but so far it has useful stuff like socks in it because I get cold feet! :)

Flora - slow down woman for heavens sake, it's the weekend, watch some rubbish telly and have a snooze.

saltnvinigarcrips · 28/11/2010 20:06

I haven't even thought of hospital bag yet running and bubba but maybe need to get that sorted next weekend. Keep us posted bubba I will probably think I'm in labour if I get a braxton hicks. Does it feel like a period cramp then? I too have been a bit of a nightmare to live with the past few days. Feel sorry for DH who I keep tutting at apparently and I tutted at loads of people today in TESCO because they didn't clear the aisle way for me lol and even my mum said I sounded moody on the phone. Just feel so uncomfortable at the minute and finding it difficult to get up from the couch to go to the loo every 10 minutes for a pathetic little wee plus I have started to officially waddle :(
Anyway just enjoying sunday night tv and praying for snow tonight so I don't have to go to school tomorrow. Wishful thinking!

BubbaAndBump · 28/11/2010 20:27

Ahh salt - the pathetic wee. That's a joyful side to pregnancy - especially bad in the middle of the night when the bathroom floor's cold and so is the loo seat - I almost think it's not worth getting up for!!! :o :o

Honestly, didn't do the hospital bag with DD1 until normal time scales (although I do agree with packing socks Running) - another tip is waterproof flip flops for the showers (ick - don't ask!)! Confused

My problem is that if waters break with baby still not head down, things will be pretty frantic, and trying also to get my DDs somewhere calmly, I really won't have time to do anything clever, and although it's mentally early, just have a feeling it might not wait till January (remind me of this wise comment when I'm complaining in Feb that baby is still sitting tight!!) :o

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 29/11/2010 08:12

bubba I have the same thoughts and neither of the first 2 showed any signs of being born never mind coming early!!

salt you are entitled to be grumpy being heavily pregnant is not fun at all!!
I made DH swap beds with DS2 last night cause he was snoring and I couldn't sleep - It helped!!

jjkm hope you are felling better now.

CupcakesHay · 29/11/2010 11:21

I've half got my hospital bag packed - but it's in Devon - so no good til next week - but my crocs are in it - for icky reasons in my head too - so pleased that was a good plan!

salt pathetic wee is a BRILL way to describe it.

Not too grumpy - and all my friends have said how positive and happy and blooming I am with pregnancy - but almost in tears last ngiht as missing DH and wanted cuddle... oh well - that's what my mum's for next week :)

ladybuzz love the swapping beds - was DS2 ok about it?

LadyBuzz · 29/11/2010 13:30

cupcakes he was fast asleep and had no idea, don't think DH was as impressed mind but I was crying cause I was so tired so he took pity on me Grin.

I really must sort the spare room so you can actually use the bed in there. Its full of baby gear!

RunningKatie · 29/11/2010 15:18

Anyone else just wanting to hibernate this week? I've got my ladies lunch/baby shower with work on Wednesday so I just hope the forecast snow stays out of my way.

Have put flip flops in hospital bag now.

Baby seems like this working from home malarkey much more than the office, apparently they've got no heating there so I'm much better sitting here browsing the internet updating procedures.

ZippyPippy · 29/11/2010 16:43

I've been hibernating the last week with a wretched cold, had to take a couple of days off work as just felt so run down. Would usually force myself in but realise I have two of us to think about now! Feeling a bit better now, but still can't breathe at night. Hating this freezing weather too but no snow for us as down south.

JJKM good to hear from you but sorry about the horrid time you've been having. You are doing so well to cope with it all, keep hanging in there and keep us posted.

Bubba hope your ok and the cramps aren't anything to worry about. I haven't thought about hospital bag either as I know once I start i won't be able to stop packing stuff!! Really should get a few things together though soon.

I haven't had any braxton hicks yet either, am quite intrigued about what they will feel like.

FloraPost · 29/11/2010 19:07

I've had a few freaky cramps too - very low down, around the cervix I think. I haven't packed a hospital bag but definitely need to get onto it, we got a list of stuff to pack at NCT. I heard a good suggestion to take 2 bottles of water with sports caps: One to drink and one to assist with, ahem, the first loo visit afterwards.

I found out today my friend just lost her baby suddenly at 23 weeks SadSadSad. She is devastated but putting a brave face on. We had planned to do all sorts of things together while we were both off. I feel tremendously guilty. Tiny Flora started booting me as soon as I got off the phone to her as if to say 'I'm still here, Mummy.'

LadyBuzz · 29/11/2010 19:42

flora Sad how awful for your friend.

I bought a couple of bits for my bag tonight, I thought I better start.
