Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 29/10/2010 18:16

Takethatlady - that is awful :(
Hope you are okay and the ABs do clear the infection.

I'm debating on whether to push for an early scan. I had an early scan when I was pg with ds as I had a previous m/c.

I had what was essentially a chemical pg before I fell pg this time around. Plus I am still wondering about twins!!

mouffloncake · 29/10/2010 18:20

lobster I feel for you. I know nothing I say can help so sending you lots of healing hugs.

takethatlady I'd be ranty if I were you too. How are you feeling now?

yellowtomato Wow, what a shock lol. Looking forward to your next update!

Today, I chased the hospital for my booking appointment date as gp told me to expect it in week 9 which starts on Monday & I have had no sign of an appointment.
Hospital have not received my gp referral letter so called gp surgery. Who had no record of my pregnancy!
Gp surgery called back when they found my notes & explained their system was down the day I went to register my pregnancy (almost 3weeks ago).

Hopefully, they have sent my referral letter off now.

Hey we are one of the 5 most active convos!!

broughthimroundtotheidea · 29/10/2010 18:34

wow possible twins among us! yellowtomato

I'm not due for an early scan, but have been googling privately having one as am worried about my lack of MS this PG, no bad symptoms tho, and a little part of me says wait and see there are no signs that I should worry. (a bigger part says just pay then you will feel happier) OH would not go for the idea so it would have to be done in secret.

I have my booking in appointment with the MW next sunday would you believe! I will share my worries with her and u never know she may offer one if I look deranged enough!

I am awaiting the yummy curry that I can smell DH cooking, which will be washed down with the one unit of alcohol I allow myself a week!

Clarkiee · 29/10/2010 19:41

broughthimround I told the MW that I'd had no MS what so ever and she said that 'it's totally normal. There are a big list of symptons and MS is just one of them- loads of people don't suffer from it'

Sure you'd rather share it with OH than have a secret one. Soon as you get the date you might feel a bit better about waiting (I did) x

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 29/10/2010 19:59

My mum said she had no m/s with me or my brothers (twins).

Lucky cow Grin

Beesok · 29/10/2010 20:08

This thread is too long! I am trying to catch on the day's news Shock

So sorry to hear about your loss Lobsterlass I really can't imagine what you're going through, take care of yourself

broughthimroundtotheidea · 29/10/2010 20:48

I'm only worried about the lack of morning sickness as I had it really bad with my DD and DS. Feeling some re-assuring twinges tonight. Have a good weekend everyone x x

melltobe · 30/10/2010 04:05

Issy I hope I can completely reassure you as I think I'm a few weeks ahead of you but I've experienced exactly the same as you - at my 5 week scan they couldn't find anything at all as I too have a tilted uterus - apparently this makes all the difference to what they can see on the scan. I went back a week later and had an internal scan where they found a sac but that was it, then I returned last weekend (when I thought I was 8 weeks but they said 7) and finally after another internal scan saw a blob with a heartbeat. So I'm hoping that should reassure you, I'm glad you're not giving up hope. I was worried too but it turned out fine (not that I'm counting my chickens before 12 weeks). I really think the tilted uterus explains it. I'm sure as the weeks go on (and the scans) you'll start to see more and more :)

Gillzz · 30/10/2010 08:22

Hi every1 well i'm 8+1 today and still not heard of scan date starting to get anxious! as said in posts b4 my ds was born really ill and they didn't pick up his condition at my scans which they should have!!! so when I seen doc 4 weeks ago she said I would be monitored very closely and regular by mw at docs and the docs at the hospital, trying to think at 12 weeks everything is in place so will know 100% everything ok! my mum and close friends say I should phone hospital next week to see wots happening but going try and wait to 10 weeks!!

If this was my first baby and I had no previous problems I would have no problem waiting till 12 week scan, early scans can be worrying as not everythings developed!

on lighter note this little bean was concieved on holiday in Egypt! came off the implant in july, was pretty hopeful would fall on holiday as was having sex 2 to 3 times a day for 2 weeks lol!! hopefully thats enough for df for next 9 months as can't even think about it just now! xxxx

Gillzz · 30/10/2010 08:24

sorry 8+2 today been suffering pregnancy brain all week lol!

Thanks sasamaxx and deadbody. A&E just told me I had a urine infection - they were making sure I wasn't having an ectopic because I had weird stomach pains. Obviously I wasn't so they told me everything was fine and just mentioned I had a mild urine infection and that these could cause complications in pregnancy.

Then they told me a whole load of other stuff and let me go. It did cross my mind to ask about the infection but I was embarrassed I'd gone there for an ectopic but atually had wind Blush so I thought they'd have told me what to do if I needed to do anything, plus I was relieved the pregnancy was all fine.

Grrrr. Went out last night with family and drank six cranberry juices in a flushing-out attempt. Have had 3/21 antibiotics now. Kidneys still hurt but not as much. Just praying it doesn't have an effect on the pregnancy now.

mummynumber2 · 30/10/2010 08:54

Ooh gillzz, You could go for an egyption goddess or god's name! I agree with supersunnyday I would definitely ring the hospital and your gp early nextweek. A few of the other posts here have shown that the nhs is not always very organised with these things and I think sometimes people can be forgotten.

I wish I had a good conception story. At the actual time I was in a hospital bed eating sandwiches and biscuits and dp was on a train somewhere else. I wonder what that says about the character if the baby?!

mummynumber2 · 30/10/2010 08:56

Poor you takethatlady. I wonder why the hospital didn't prescribe antibiotics there and then. Really hope they're working now.

sasamaxx · 30/10/2010 09:20

Goodness me takethatlady - really bizarre that they didn't give you something to treat your infection being a pregnancy unit and everything.

mummynumber2 but your conception story is one of hope and love and determination - I think those are excellent character traits Smile

9 weeks today - am attempting a morning cup of tea today. It tastes a bit wierd but since ms hasn't kicked in yet today, it's going down ok.
Felt terrible terribly sick all day yesterday - and was burping for Britain.

So glad it's the weekend and DH is off work. Have to drive 2 hours to visit in-laws soon and then another 2 hours home this evening - it's going to be a loooooonnngggg day. They don't know and I think it's going to be quite obvious that I'm not well and will probably have to tell them because SIL has OCD and will panic if she thinks I have something infectious.

I have put so much TV on for the kids lately - i.e. all day every day whatever they have asked for. As a result, Balamory, The Wiggles, Kelly's Heroes, Chitty chitty Bang Bang and Annie Get your Gun are all reminding me of sickness and making me feel sick when I see them Angry

curiouselle · 30/10/2010 09:32

Wow so much to read, I apologise that I can't mention everybody independently but lobsterlass I am thinking of you.

To try to catch up, our conception was a "I think I'm ovulating, but have to leave for work in 5 minutes", DH "ok lets go" - romantic! Ha ha Blush

Been feeling sick, but have not been sick, and it has not spoilt my appetite, also been feeling flat for no reason, which I am getting fed up of as I am actually really happy. Confused

Told both sets of parents and got positive reactions and some shock! Importantly my mum was very happy and supportive.

I can't remember who else mentioned it but why do midwives only work mornings? I now also have to explain to work why I need to leave for a 11.00 app and I work in a school where everyone is verrrrrry curious! Wonderful!

Hop everybody manages some breaky this morning! Smile

sasamaxx · 30/10/2010 09:42

curioselle - I think they tend to go out on visits in the afternoons so do appts in the mornings Smile

curiouselle · 30/10/2010 10:14

sasamaxx I am sure that makes perfect sense but it would be soooo much easier if they did 5.00 appointments - selfish me!

DH has just informed me that I was looking for 'sticky things out of cereal boxes' underneath my pillow last night and then got annoyed with him when I had to explain I meant fridge magnets! Oh dear I haven't slept walked since I did shift work, pregnancy had obviously started it again! The other night I went and put clothes on because I was in bed with someone and I was NAKED! shock horror, then I realised it was my DH hmmm - going crazy already - great [hblush]

melltobe · 30/10/2010 11:02

curiouselle that's so weird - I had a dream about fridge magnets too the other night, the coloured letter ones. They were stuck all over me (in the dream!) - analyse that!!! Confused

curiouselle · 30/10/2010 11:40

melltobe wow those are the fridge magnets that I meant! Shock Weird! Well every thing in your dream is meant to represent a part of you - I think it is something to do with expression and feeling confused (hormones, new experience and all that)?

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 30/10/2010 14:05

I had a dream that I was watching Gordon Brown being interviewed last night. Now that was strange. He was being smug about what a bunch of utter f**&wits Cameregg are.

Felt awful again this morning really sick. It seems that every 7 days my ms suddenly gets a lot worse, as I haven't been too bad last couple of days but was vomiting badly this morning.

Again hoping this is a sign everything is going okay.
