Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

Morning all! Welcome and congratulations all newbies.

Moog you will definitely get a letter telling you about your scan, you don't need to book it once you're in the system.

Day 4 of no nicotine! I am officially a really nasty person; my moods are so bad I'm pissing myself off! Grin It'll be worth it though...

DungunGirl · 27/10/2010 09:45

pozzied..

Yeah it is horrible...uurrgghh and I am making the cardinal sin of eating to try and dull it! I have already gained weight after only being 5+ weeks PG!

I have found that snacking on FRUIT AND FIBRE flakes seems to help.

IssyStark · 27/10/2010 10:11

Morning all! Welcome to recent joiners :)

Clarkiee hope you made it through the night without freezing!

melltobe unfortunately early u/s tend to be mor accurate than later ones. I was also a week behind where I thought I should be with my son but given that he turned up at 42+2 on their dates, my were definitely off!

Really wish I'd get ms. Not off my tea or coffee, bunged up rather than loose and feeling fine in the evenings which is totally unlike my other eight first trimesters. I keep telling myself every pregnancy was different and I'm only 6w. Can't wait for my early scan this Friday then hopefully I'll stop being paranoia central.

IssyStark · 27/10/2010 10:14

Oh and 8rubberduckies well done!

yellowtomato · 27/10/2010 10:56

Well done 8rubberduckies it will be worth it and it will gradually get easier.

yellowtomato · 27/10/2010 11:35

Oooh exciting I've just had a call from the midwife and have my midwife appt for 10th Nov and 12 week scan on 2nd Dec......makes it seem more real to have those dates in the diary.

Did any of you take your partners to the midwife appt or did you go alone?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 27/10/2010 11:47

I am actually now at the point where I wish I would just throw up! I've had a couple of dry wretching sessions which are awful. My take on food is eat what I want when I want/can. I'm starting to find myself being really hungry in the evenings because my food consumption is so small.
I'm also feeling really bad about the amount of TV DS is watching this week, because I just haven't got the energy to take him out and about or even play on the floor with him. Still it's not for ever and he starts play group in about 6 weeks.

I really admire those of you who have to hide morning sickness at work!

endlesslove · 27/10/2010 12:17

Hi everyone. Sorry I have not been talking much...I have been hiding (see "HCG Levels" thread in Pregnancy).

I do read up on how everyone is doing and I will try and bring myself to write a bit more. I'm just so pettrified and I am finding time has stopped.

I am not sure if I am 6 or 7 weeks so will keep you posted once I have next scan.

Have a good day everyone. xx

takethatlady · 27/10/2010 12:58

Hi ladies,

pozzle I've been to see Bon Jovi. I actually hate them :o but I took DH to see them. Between us we really have the worst taste in music he he.

I agree with those who don't like it that Robbie is back. I'm pissed off that the concerts are going to include a set of Robbie's own music. WTF? It's a TT concert FFS!

Rant over. Took another preg test last night, it said Pregnant 3+. It's never said that before so yehey for me :)

Hey to all the noobs.

VeryHungryKatypillar · 27/10/2010 13:21

Hi everyone, I am a bit superstitious and almost don't want to say this.. but really want to join in, instead of lurking! So if I had got a BFP last week and if I was pregnant, I would be 5 weeks today and due on 28thish of June.

Had lots of stretching pain and nausea over the weekend, but that has all disappeared now... which worries me a bit. Anyone else get a load of symptoms which disappeared? I'm thinking it might be a hormone rush thing?

Oh, and I already have one DC, 2.5yo. Looking forward to getting to know you all over coming months, fingers crossed for all.

8rubberduckies · 27/10/2010 13:24

Hi endlesslove, I saw your post last week, it must be a hard time for you at the moment, here's some extremely un-Mumsnettish hugs winging your waySmile. It still sounds like there is lots of hope, even though there is a confusion about dates. I may have heard wrong, but is that not quite common so early on? Please keep us updated on how things are going, we are here if you need a rant or moan!

cep · 27/10/2010 13:59

hi all, welcome newbies and congratulations.

welldone 8 rubberduckies that's really good, it does get easier.

a little rant about work - why is it that people think it's ok to phone up and shout at someone. The ignorant arrogant arse. I don't phone up to shout at people whether they've messed something up or not. shouting at me doesn't get anything quicker just gets my back up a bit of sarcasm and then the dial tone after i hang up. i don't even do anything but answer the phone anyway so it wouldn't be my fault, i hate being the voice- rant over, sigh of relief.

anyway still getting stomachs pains and pains in my back actually had to take paracetamol today which i try to avoid, how painful is the muscle stretching supposed to be?

hope everyone isn't suffering too much today.

Yarnie · 27/10/2010 14:11

Hello to the newbies!

As a little diversion - the baby name stats for 2009 have just been released!

Link

There were 23 incidences of my son's name who was born in 2009. I'm waiting to encounter someone who shares his name.

Yarnie · 27/10/2010 14:13

I spotted 3 incidences of "Messiah". That's quite a name to live up to Grin.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 27/10/2010 15:08

Afternoon everyone! I am amazed at how busy this thread! Must have been the shit weather we had end of August/beginning of September Grin

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 27/10/2010 15:13

I realised I worked out my due date wrong, it is actually the 12th June not the 19th, doh!!

DH is going to a concert on the 20th May - he is going to see Roger Water's The Wall.

Hope baby isn't early Shock

8rubberduckies · 27/10/2010 15:16

Thanks Yarnie - Hurray! We have 3 boy's names shortlisted, 2 of which are way in the bottom end of the top 50, the forerunner at the moment though is well out of the top 100! Even better!

For a girl, our favourite is in the Top 5. DP doesn't care, but I really don't like the idea of her being one of many in her class. Does anyone else feel the same, or do you think it doesn't matter as long as you love the name?

PS Welcome and congratulations VeryHungryKatypillar!!!

TabithaTwitchet · 27/10/2010 15:21

Is it too late for a new person?

I think I am due around the 16th. I was holding back joining the thread because I was worried something was going to go wrong, but have now thought, sod it, I need to be more positive!

This will be our second, we already have a DD who is nearly 3

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

broughthimroundtotheidea · 27/10/2010 15:26

I had a girls name totally sorted, until I realized that a neighbour has just had a baby and called her that name.....it was Isla. This neighbour currently screeches out ther other childrens names in the street and I couldn't be doing with hearing her shout the same name as one of mine! So now i have no idea! and I also am not going to even let on to DH that i have even thought about names yet as he would freak!

evs34 · 27/10/2010 15:44

Hi ladies, not posted for ages - was waiting for my scan - all is well and now 8 1/2 weeks. horrid nausea all day long, work do not know and i just cannot be bothered with anything. Also - why oh why can i not fit into any of my trousers?? - sitting on my bum all day is awful - so tight and uncomfy. dont remember being like this with no 1. anyone else 8 weeks and feeling really fat already? xx

curiouselle · 27/10/2010 15:52

I have been away for 2 days and have had to spend forever reading to catch-up!
I wish I could reply to lots of people but my mushy brain has forgotten which person goes with which post haha!
I have my first Dr app on Friday, letting them know I am pregnant and then hopefully it will all seem more real?? I am assuming you are guided through the system, as I have no idea what happens next!
evs34 I already feel fat and I am only a few weeks was beginning to think I was just randomly getting fat till I read these posts - thanx guys!
My only real pregnancy symptom that I can't ignore is embarrassingly Blush erect sensitive nipples - sneezing is very painful and causes me to grab my own boobs -oh dear!
I am also tired and slightly nauseous at times but I don't trust my own feeling so this could be psychosomatic! x

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 27/10/2010 15:58

Another tmi thread from me...would normally namechange but it's only my halloween name and I need some support.

Since yesterday afternoon it's been slightly pinky brownish when I've wiped after using the toilet. I rang the early pregnancy unit (in tears Blush) this morning and the nice doctor said this was normal and was just due to stretching etc (actually think it might be due to humping on monday night Blush) but it's scared me so much that it seems to have brought on ms, and I'm finding it really difficult to eat today.

Has anybody else had this? And how long did it last?

I know everything will probably be fine, but I suppose having had 9 smooth weeks, it has brought home to me how vulnerable we all are.

NurseSunshine · 27/10/2010 16:03

Have you been getting pains regularly cep? I'm getting an achey back (period like) quite a bit esp in the evening and last night I had quite a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen, in line with my hips which made me worry about ectopic pregnancy. After much umming and ahhing I decided to see how I felt in the morning and there was no pain so I'm assuming this is normal?

I'm feeling all worried today so am going to buy pg test in a bit just to convince myself everything's ok.

Well done 8rubberduckies!! Be as much of a grump as you want, you're quite entitled!

broughthimround that's annoying! At least you didn't have yours first and then have to put up with your DC's name being screeched in the street. I'm the same with my DP, not sure when to broach the subject. I'm not sure he's even thought of names yet and I have a full and comprehensive list, plus their middle and last names (we're not married so my name then his hyphenated!) all sorted out [hgrin]

KaraStarbuck I am JEALOUS of your DH, would love to see The Wall [hsad]

Welcome to all newbies

MoogHasNoBrain · 27/10/2010 16:19

Nurse - I seem to have had all sorts of sharp pains in varous parts of my abdomen whuich come and go - seem to have gone at the moment. Lots of people have reported similar so it seems to be normal.. try not to worry! easier said than done of course.

8rubberduckies I gave up smoking on finding out I was pregnant but I was lucky enough to have gone off the smell of them so it was quite easy. I did not find it easy when I gave up before my first though so I completyely understand how horribly hard it is. But hey - you should be getting through the worst now :) I seem to remember for me I turned a real corner after 5 days.. well done :) DH still somokes and I would love him to give up but I don't see it happening! I can't force someone I know...

We have a girls name completely sorted but cannot find a boys name we both love. I can't find a single name I want for a boy which seems ridiculous given there is quite a lot of choice! Thanks Yarnie for posting the link..

Names

NurseSunshine · 27/10/2010 16:23

According the the office for national stats several of the names on my list are on the top 100, one is #2 and one #37. Quite a few aren't though :) Would you choose quite a popular name if you really loved it?
