Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

IssyStark · 26/10/2010 20:32

105 of us! My, I would never of guessed.

Yarni great news about the scan!

beesok I can only hope the parents wo laugh only laugh because they are embarassed. I can't imagine letting the garklet get away with spitting.

Sasa wish I did have symptoms to stay on top of:( So far the only symptom is the absence of a period and I really wish I did have ms. Ho hum, roll on Friday scan...

Btw, in an oversharing, tmi way, today's discharge due to the are they/aren't they progesterone pessaries I'm taking as part of a RCT was so much that my pants stuck to my trousers. Lovely. The things I do in the name of medical science...

yellowtomato · 26/10/2010 20:44

Congrats Yarnie that must be such a relief, how far along are you?

I can't believe there are more than 100 of us, wow!

I am so bloated tonight, far too much dinner. Lovely homemade apple crumble and custard . Grin

NurseSunshine · 26/10/2010 20:52

I want some yellowtomato!

So it seems that the nice side of me is being kidnapped every morning and replaced with stroppy knickers extrordinaire. Shouted at DP for NO reason yesterday then burst into tears Blush Nice Nurse tends to come back after midday.

I am feeling SO sick atm, all day, I don't think I can take another few weeks of it. I start a new placement in 2.5 weeks and there's no way I can function on a busy, sweltering ward feeling like this. I couldn't wear motion sickness bands either as I have to be bare below the elbow. I might ask GP for some anti emetics if this carries on.

I honestly respect all you who've had one or more already so much. I hope this little thing doesn't mind being an only child!

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 20:56

Our boiler has packed in- a chilli night 'oop north' for me tonight Sad

Humania · 26/10/2010 20:57

Hi ladies!
For those of you who are large of nork like me I can highly recommend bravado bras here. V comfortable and extremely supportive too... they saw me through my first pregnancy brilliantly.

Can't decide whether to book a private reassurance scan or just wait it out. Despite mc in the past my hospital won't book me in til 10 and a half weeks and the scan prob won't be til between 12 and 14 weeks... feels like forever away.

Really enjoying reading everyone's posts keep them coming!

NurseSunshine · 26/10/2010 21:04

Oooh thanks humania, I am indeed large of nork.

Anyone like knitting/crocheting? I just bought a pattern to make this. Hope baby is a girl otherwise I'll be getting a lot of strange looks [hgrin]

crumbletastic · 26/10/2010 21:08

Really feel for you with no boiler Clarkiee I'm freezing even with central heating blaring and sitting under a furry blanket. Have you got thermal underwear? Also, I'm guessing you're in the NW after you mentioned oop north and visiting the illuminations?

Beesok · 26/10/2010 21:22

Humania I feel for you - I couldn't bear the weight. Is there no way you could ask your GP for a referral?

Issy and someone else who asked (this thread is moving too fast!) I work in a nursery with a large mix of children including those with behavioral problems + on social servics lists etc so yeah dealing with some of them is v. challenging. It's not tragic and I do enjoy my job but some days it gets to you and when parents are not cooperative you sort think OK so what am I supposed to do? There is only so much I can do at nursery....and yes they laughed it off - and I doubt they were embarrassed more like not bothered ..Sad but true - some children are "dumped" in nursery because (I quote a mother here) "I can't take him to public places - I let the dad deal with that!" yeah great!

Warm hugs to Clarkiee that must be a pain!

sasamaxx · 26/10/2010 21:35

Oh no Clarkiee - do you have a fire?

Our boiler broke about 3 years ago in winter - we had a couple of plug in electric heaters upstairs and had both downstairs fires blaring constantly with all the doors open. Went through lot of coal for those few days I can tell you!

moomin156 · 26/10/2010 21:52

Evening everyone......wow doesnt it all move so quickly.
Well survived a days work and was even brave enough to tell my line manager who said she had guessed! How i have no idea, and then told to do my own risk assessment and she would sign it.
non wired bras i am usually a 32F so on the large size and have worn non wired bras to work for a couple of years and with wires, pretty ones at all other times. If you get a proper fit and a 'total support' bra i find they are actually more supportive than the wired ones.... ( i also never thought they would be) but they are totally unattractive granny bras. I have gone to a 34FF already and the non wired bra i was fitted for yesterday is very comfy and supports in all the right tender places.
takethat think i will give them a miss but i would love to see them. Think i agree on the Robbie front, better off without him
clarkie poor you.......lots of extra duvets and socks required

Clarkiee · 26/10/2010 21:57

Thanks for the sympathy :)
Had the gas fire on full blast all afternoon and evening- quite cosy in the living room but not looking forward to going to bed- extra blankets and sexy bed socks me thinks Blush

Yes I'm in sunny North West crumbletastic Grin

babybeebee · 26/10/2010 22:10

Hi all!

Wow, everytime I come online there is more and more pages! Finally plucked up the courage to join you all!

I am 6+2 I think, got MW appt on 18th Nov and then scan about 2 weeks later.

Very very sick again this time (already got DS who is 2). I was really ill with him for about 5 months and basically went off every food going....similar this time so far but I am hoping it will be short lived, not liking the thought of another 7+ months feeling like this.

I have also got no energy, fluctuating temperature and random dreams! Plus burping and constant need to wee...oh the joys hey!

Have also developed a huge bump which I keep reading is cos you show quicker the 2nd time, but never thought it would be This quick (it appeared at 4 weeks! Took the test, saw the line and POP - there's my tummy! LOL)

Right, off to bed now, bored of the Man U game and need to give my little bean some peace and quiet from DH shouting at the TV!

Night all xxx

crumbletastic · 26/10/2010 22:12

Waving to you from the very bright and sunny NW clarkiee. If you don't get your boiler fixed soon I'll rustle up some thick blankets for you

kitcat83 · 26/10/2010 22:47

Hi all I would love to join you as I have just found that I am 6wks pregnant too Grin

melltobe · 27/10/2010 03:01

Welcome and congratulations Babybeebee and kitcat83! I wonder if we're heading towards a MN due date record number here!

I don't post often but do enjoy reading the posts daily.

Re bras - Igglybuff mentioned Hot Milk - I treated myself to a couple as soon as I found out I was pg as my boobs were so sore and I'm really impressed. They were quite expensive but as soon as I put it on it felt way more supportive than my underwire, which I wasn't expecting. They're also really pretty! I think as long as you're properly fitted, non underwired bras should offer just as much (perhaps) even more support. I'm finding I also need support at night but perhaps not as much, so I've also bought a couple of less expensive M&S ones too. They're less supportive than the Hot Milk ones but really comfy to sleep in.

I thought I was coming up to 9 weeks but my scan last week said 8 - I hate being robbed of a week! I'm hoping that it was too early to get an accurate measurement so I'm sticking with nearly 9....I saw that a similar thing has happened with a few people on here too.

petitech · 27/10/2010 07:11

Nursesunshine - so with you on the sickness. I actually cried last night for about half hour at the horrible right that this might go in for another for wks min. Seriously getting me down :(

petitech · 27/10/2010 07:18

right = thought

Wobblewatcher · 27/10/2010 08:09

Hi everyone. Don't think I remember there being this many on my due sep 07 thread and iirc sep is supposed to be one of the most popular months for babies.

Well I'm not sure but think the sickness may be creeping up on me, going off food and feel a bit sick at times. Yesterday gagged when putting left overs into the recycling box. But feeling very very tired, I work just Fridays and Saturdays but Friday I work a 12 hour shift and just wondering how I will cope Hmm

Also started a thread on here about how big I am. Someone put it down to being bloated but it's just like a bump of 5/6 months which starts just under my boobs. I see some of you have the same...

Thanks for help when I was feeling down. Feeling slightly better now but just hope and pray all the time that things will be okay...

Poor DD is being so good and playing and I feel bad just sitting here doing nothing! I have a cold too so that doesn't help Sad

Re bras, I was given a huge bag of mat bras by my best mate. Not sure of the sizes but they seem comfy enough!!

Speak later Smile

MoogHasNoBrain · 27/10/2010 08:23

Morning everyone. I haven't been posting for a while but have been reading every day :)

I still have not morning sickness or any real symptoms to speak of. Although I have managed to put on 2 lbs in weight and have the big tummy some people have mentioned which at 6+3 is probably not good. Amd is more due to eating too much choclate that baby related I think!

Can't really join in on the bra discussion as have tiny boobs and am [henvy] of those of you larger ladies Grin.

I have midwife appointment on 15th. Have alreday seen doctor - does anyone know - do the hpspital just write with a scan date once you ahve seen the doctor and are 'in the system'? Or do we need to do something to arrange the scan?

Thanks!

Wobblewatcher · 27/10/2010 08:32

No you don't have to do anything re scan, I certainly don't in this area anyway...

pozzled · 27/10/2010 08:41

Morning everyone, have just caught up with the last few pages- there are so many of us now!

Moog I think you should get a scan appointment through the post, I would check with your mw on the 15th if you haven't heard by then.

Wrt all the Take That discussion, I wanted to go to a Bon Jovi (!) show when I was 36 weeks last time, but reluctantly decided not to risk it- the tickets were so expensive that I couldn't take the chance of not being able to go or not enjoying it.

I'm another one who has developed a definite tummy, noticed it a few days ago. I'm 6+4, but this is my second so I guess it makes sense that I'm showing earlier. I was hoping not to tell anyone at work until around Christmas time, but now I'm not sure if I can keep it secret till then!

I've been feeling quite hormonal and sorry for myself today, have a bad cold, ms and am knackered. My DD waking up and demanding to play at 5.45 this morning was the last straw! Have now settled down with cbeebies and MN and feeling a bit cheerier. Hope everyone has had a brighter start to their day.

DungunGirl · 27/10/2010 08:42

MOrning all

Anyone gone off one of their 'regular' foods/drinks?

I know I am definitely preggers because like with DS1 and DS2, I am officially off tea. Which is going to make it hard to hide from the girls in the office.....Smile

Also....it isn't fair!!! How can I start getting ms at less than 6 weeks!!!!! AND mine is all day ms not just morning.

Anyway.....will soldier on...

pozzled · 27/10/2010 08:55

DungunGirl I'm with you on the ms, it is horrible isn't it. Mine is much worse in the afternoon and evening, it makes it very difficult to sort out dinner.

Haven't gone off any food yet, so have been trying to eat as well as I can. Last time I absolutely could not face any type of salad.

yellowtomato · 27/10/2010 08:59

hello all

Moog re the scan. Last time after seeing the doctor I got letters through the post to see mid wife and scan. Separate letters but both for about the 12 weeks mark. I got them about 2 weeks after seeing the dr.

I have only a B cup but I think I'm heading towards a C and am quite impressed with myself!

I have a v small but definite tummy and it is my first (last pregnancy was v early mc) so not sure what my excuse is at 6+4. I haven't been eating more, if fact probably less. It is less noticeable in the mornings but I already can't wear some clothes Shock

Lots and lots of sympathy for all those struggling with ms, just try to rest as much as you can. I saw another thread on here that some people's ms went when they were on holiday. So maybe there is a direct link between tiredness and how sick you feel? Sorry if that is not helpful, I just thought it was interesting.

I don't seem to have any ms or food cravings/aversions. But I guess it is still early days......scan tomorrow and I feel terrified.

How is everyone else feeling today?

catherineps · 27/10/2010 09:21

morning everyone! sorry for those who are feeling rough. I am almost wishing for some symptoms to reassure me, but am only 4+6 so not panicking just yet. I start a new job on monday so will probably start feeling ill just in time for that!!

thanks for the bra tips :)
