Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

Congratulations curiouselle (any anyone else I've missed)

8rubberduckies · 24/10/2010 13:42

Hi all, I'm feeling really, really ill today! Had a really bad stomach since last night so feeling very sorry for myself!

I am taking Solgar prenatal Multivits, you can get them in health food shops, and they are really good. The type of iron used in Pregnacare / Sanatogen ones can give you constipation, but these were suggested to me by a friend when I was last pregnant and do not block you up.

Hope you all have fun in the sunshine this afternoon. I'm studying a course for work at the moment, so all my spare time at the weekend seems to be used up in front of the computer Sad. Will be sending DP off to the park with DS once he wakes up from his nap, and try and concentrate on boring financial stuff, when all I want to do is browse the internet for itty bitty teeny weeny clothes!

Yarnie · 24/10/2010 13:54

Afternoon all. Just wondered whether anyone had done an NCT refresher course and, if so, what it entailed? I don't know a great many mums in my area and thought it might be a good way to meet more.

Any views?

Failing that, any west London mums out there ;-)

NurseSunshine · 24/10/2010 14:54

Hey everyone

Congratulations to any newbies, 5 pages of posts is too many for me to remeber individual names!

Hope everyone's feeling well and happy. I've got my GP appointment tomorrow, and then hopefully my MW app won't be too long after that.

I've been TELLING people! I told my little borther and another of my good friends this weekend and am just about to text my sister (who's off gallivanting in australia at the moment) to tell her. Think DP is telling his mum today as well, with strict instructions NOT to plaster it all over facebook!

Humania · 24/10/2010 15:41

Hi Yarnie I'm West London and I think we have the same due date!

Hi to all the squillions of newbies too.

Beesok I did NCT last time and I find it really useful, and dh especially learnt loads. 2 years on I still regularly see the 6 other mums and we're all good friends and very local to each other. It's especially nice as the courses are so popular that you're likely to be grouped with people who are both local and also have very close due dates to you... within a couple of weeks usually. Hope this helps.

Humania · 24/10/2010 15:42

found it not find it. preg brain sorry.

curiouselle · 24/10/2010 16:22

wonnaywombat Thank You! I thought it was just me wishing for more signs, although those throwing up probably hate us for saying that!
Thank You also for the congratulations - we haven't told anyone yet so it is nice to hear.
I apologise if you have already discussed this on this thread and I will go back and read if you have, but when are people telling people? I would love to know what you all think?!

MainlyMaynie I am sticking to one or at most two cups of very weak instant coffee, barely tastes of coffee but gets me through the day! Smile

misshoohaa · 24/10/2010 16:24

Hi all,
Hope you are all well! Well my morning sickness is here with a vengeance, and morning sickness?? All day nausea more like! Once I get some food down I feel better, but it basically means continual eating! Bllluuuhhh.....

Had my scan yesterday! Was amazing to see the little heart beating away and has really helped supress any worries, seeing everything was as it should be. The sonographer said I was measuring about a week later than I thought but suggested when the little thing is this small it might change at my next scan. 6.3mm seems so small, can't believe it will grow from that into a fully fledged baby!
Anyway was fantastic for me and DP to see, would highly recommend it if you need some reassurance.

I've got the stats from the previous thread, I know there are heaps on newbies that are missing but adding all of their stats would involve trawling 24 pages of messages and I just can't face it!

So welcome to all the newbies and add your stats below! Sorry for the flurry of date posts this will intice!

Bought some baby clothes yesterday Blush, just couldn't help myself. I then nearly threw up at the train station and couldn't cook dinner once we got home. Gotta love how the ups of pregnancy are so well balanced with the absolute putrid!

DH how ever has been very lovely and let me laze about on the couch all afternoon (despite a stack of house work needing to be done). It seems to be 4 pm is when it really hits me, so shall make the most of my mornings and laze in the afternoon.

Hello new folk . I'm starting to see a few names I recognise off other threads which is great. Grin

misshoohaa · 24/10/2010 16:35

Oooo forgot to ask, is anyone ditching their underwire bras yet? My SIL told me that I should be in maternity bras?

I've added my details. Not feeling very positive about it all today though! Maybe we should have a separate stats thread like the May group?

misshoohaa congratulations on the positive scan!

pozzled · 24/10/2010 18:01

misshoohaa I've been wondering about ditching the underwired bras, but think I'm going to wait for a while. I tried on my ones from last pregnancy but they're still too big, am reluctant to go out and buy more.

curiouselle I've told a few people already, the way I see it I will tell anyone who would be there for me if things went wrong- so in my case my close family and a couple of friends who are also pg. I haven't told my dad yet though as I wouldn't be comfortable discussing a mc with him (parents are divorced). The rest I will tell either after 12 weeks, so around Christmas time or if it becomes obvious due to ms or not drinking.

8rubberduckies · 24/10/2010 18:11

Ok, our stats are over here, leaving us room to chat here on iphones and the like!

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 24/10/2010 18:20

Hi Everybody,

I've been staying at Mum & Dad's for a few days but have finally caught up on all the posts!

I think the separate stats thread is a good idea, but we discussed it on the previous thread and thought we'd put it on hold until everyone reaches 12 weeks. Otherwise it just makes it more poignant when it doesn't work out for someone, with their stats still on the list showing what might have been. By all means post your own due date etc., to make it easier for the poor sod who compiles the list next month (have a feeling it's going to be me, unless some other lovely person volunteers!!) Hope this is OK?? Or just ignore me if you want to carry on statting!!! Grin

I would recommend NCT classes too. I know they are expensive, but I now have six amazing friends with children the same age as DS. We've spent many lovely days together and all helped each other through challenging times. Also if you go to the NCT nearly new sales you will save a fortune on baby equipment and clothes.

misshoohaa unless they start to make cleavage-enhancing push up padded pregnancy bras I'm staying in underwired! If my norks miraculously enlarge I might change my mind though!!!!Smile

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 24/10/2010 18:23

Sorry, x-post 8rubberduckies Smile

8rubberduckies · 24/10/2010 18:31

curiouselle we have told our Mums and a couple of close friends, the same as pozzled really, people who I would tell anyway if it all went wrong.

cuppamouldy maybe we should all draw virtual short straws for who gets to sort out the stats in a month's time!

Congratulations on your scan misshooha Smile

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 24/10/2010 18:35

I forgot to say about the pregaday tablets (can't remember who asked, sorry), but I took two a few weeks ago as I was feeling a bit tired and jetlagged, and within 2 days they gave me a bad tummy and dark brown runny cow-pat style poos (tmi I know, but people have been talking about fanny farts and discharge, so there we go!!!)

And sorry to hear about the sad news that some of our group have had recently. I hope you have loads of support and wish you the best for the future.

Hello everyone.

Talking of vitamins- I'm on the Pregnacare and no problems here as yet. Been having some heavy achy feelings very down below today and think I felt sick a few times. Boobs more sore then ever and heartburn is gradually easing it's way in...

Plus so so tired tonight...

Now about to have some white choc options yum.

Loving this thread. X

MainlyMaynie · 24/10/2010 19:34

supersunnyday, what have your clinic said about having your viability scan at 6 weeks? I haven't booked mine yet and I can go at 6 and a half or 7 and a half weeks. I was worried 6 and a half might be too early for anything to be seen.

Wobblewatcher, I'm jealous of your drink, I could fancy a horlicks but we don't have any!

Well, I just came back from my friend's house - her little boy is 3 weeks old and I got to cuddle him for a while (he was really alert and apparently loves being held ;)

It was so cute :) now I can't wait for mine!!!!!

It's such a nice experience being around tiny little people :o

BarbieLovesKen · 24/10/2010 20:41

Hi all (and welcome new people Smile)

Absolutely PML at "dark brown runny cow-pat style poos (tmi I know, but people have been talking about fanny farts and discharge, so there we go!!!)" - thanks for that cuppa, Im feeling really sorry for myself today and needed the good laugh.

Ok so can anyone offer any advice? not sure if this is down to pregnancy (although have heard it can be) but I seem to have an abscess at the gum near my wisdom tooth. I've had it a few days and I am now out of my mind in pain. I've tried my best to get an emergency dentist but as Im in Ireland, where nothing works, I cant until Tuesday as, of course, this Monday is a bank holiday. I've had to get up at 3am the last few nights and just watch tv til everyone else gets up due to pain and all I can take is the odd ruddy panadol (which I would usually object to) for the pain. At this moment, Im swishing salt water round my mouth. Any miracle cures?

I've also realised the internal pile I developed in the last few weeks of pregnancy with ds has returned Blush with the most disgusting, vile and embarrasing side effect attached - something I was completely unaware of and way too mortified to tell you lot on here.

I know Im a moany old cow. Im so sorry. I am going to stop soon.

At least its keeping my mind off MS and on a much more positive note, as my dd would say, only 2 more sleeps until my scan! I really really cant wait. Im just terrified that nothing will be there. Sad

Finally made a nice dent in one of my essays for college but really need to put in more work as its due tomorrow week and as I said earlier, I've a gang of visitors coming over from Liverpool to stay from Tuesday - Friday. Tomorrow will require lots of cleaning, scrubbing and bed changing.

Sorry again for being so selfish.

Hope your all brilliant

8rubberduckies · 24/10/2010 20:53

Oh Barbie sounds like you're having an awful time of it! Try not to be too hard on yourself, I'm sure your visitors won't mind if every surface isn't scrubbed, especially when you tell them you've been ill for days with an abcess?

Apparently chewing a clove helps with toothache, not sure if it'll have as much effect as a good old Ibruprofen though Grin.

I thought I had really bad ms this morning, but it's become evident as the day has progressed that I've caught my DSs stomach bug Sad. DP has also got it, and, of course, it's twice as bad for him than me Hmm, so have been tending to him at the same time as running around after ds and having to run to the toilet every 10 mins Blush.

Hang on in there Barbie Smile
