Congratulations Fingon on the birth of your lovely lovely boy and well done for the roughty toughty no pain relief birth!

Well, still cramping mightily on and off - but not regularly or frequently. Collecting my peepee for the consultant tomorrow ... you'd be amazed how much there is!!!!!! At least hoping that the cramps/BH might have done something so that if I have to be induced it's not from a completely cold start as it were! Consultant appt at 2pm tomorrow so....

Enjoy your babies, ladies, and lots of cheers and 'don't worry, the babies will be here soon'! to all the rest of us.
xx

Vikks · 10/10/2010 19:27

Well done Fingon!
You must be one hard lady! I'm very impressed Grin. I hope I fare as well....

shieldbug · 10/10/2010 19:59

Wow Fingon congratulations on getting the magic date, surviving without pain relief and having such a gorgeous wee boy. The name is fantastic too- is he named after the place in France?

BackAgain · 10/10/2010 20:15

Congratulations Fingon on the birth of your lovely little boy and hitting 10-10-10

Hope everyone is OK, had a hectic day celebrating mine and my Dad's birthday so off for a soak in some bubbles!

rollerbaby · 10/10/2010 20:40

Hi ladies

I've been lurking mostly but want to add myself on if that's ok? Due on 31st October... but measuring BIG so it may well be before!

Congratulations to Fingon!! Amazing story... hope you are enjoying your little one now and managing to sleep a little. Which hypnobirthing method did you practise? Any top tips? We've been doing Mongan Rainbow Relaxation and hoping that it works!

Vikks · 10/10/2010 22:05

Hi Honeymoo welcome to the craziness! Smile

floozietoozie · 10/10/2010 22:09

Congratulations Fingon well done on no pain relief. Valerian is a great name. Your dh is French, right?

Hello Honeymoo, welcome aboard.

Any more contrnders for 10/10?

If anyone is updating the stats I noticed finally that it's the wrong date for me. Should be 26th. I'm always on the phone never computer atm so difficult for me to do. Also, think dontstopmenow's dd's first name is hannah which isn't on there.

Lilmiss - good luck tomorrow if they do induce you.

floozietoozie · 11/10/2010 05:47

What happened to Lizkin, I wonder?

I watched spooks on the iplayer over one feeding session. Why didn't that occur to me before?

SilverSky · 11/10/2010 06:23

Oh yes, need to think about best place to feed and what essential items are rqd for said feeding (and I am not talking about the baby!!)..... Grin

nymphadora · 11/10/2010 07:31

First night home survived! Really good awake spell7-9 , fed & looking around & seeing big sisters. So slept til 12 from there , up 2x more quickly then 4-dh alarm at 7 , she is still dozing now. Really good feed at 4 which helped my engorgement. Dh a bit shell shocked this am but partly cos of finding it hard to settle with her there. I slept more since I came home than I did in total at the hospital. And she has gone down much better in her cot here too. I know it's not always going to be easy so enjoying it while I can!
Today's tips
I can recommend night feeds in the dark btw as then it's less stimulating and highlights the difference.

Drinks are a priority when feeding as you dehydrate v quickly .

Voltarol is fab pain relief.even the over the counter ones.

nymphadora · 11/10/2010 07:45

Just realised I missed David Tennant last night in favour of sleep, see what hospitals do to me!

floozietoozie · 11/10/2010 09:00

Ooh, didn't clock that Single Father was a drama until now. Brilliant, another one fir the iplayer. It works quite well on my wireless laptop, only a bit jerky.

Glad tour first night went well Nymph.

Lizkins must of had a baby by now, this would explain the silence...

Nymph Glad things are going well, I am so jealous that you are all snuggled with your baby. I don't know if it's ever going to be my turn...

How is everyone else this morning, any news or developments? I was also wondering where Elsa is - she hasn't posted for ages now.

Right, off to eat a pineapple Grin!

SamanthaB123 · 11/10/2010 09:38

Just a quick word of advice; when eating a whole pineapple it is a test of both endurance and speed. Due to the fact that it removes a couple of layers of skin from your lips, tongue and mouth you do need to be quick, otherwise the last few mouthfuls are excrutiatingly (sp?) painful. Just thought I'd share Grin.

nymphadora · 11/10/2010 09:54

Lol samb reporting back on the pineapple! I do feel lucky that I missed the worst bit of the last two weeks waiting. Its not like your baby can live in there forever though is it Wink

Vikks · 11/10/2010 10:13

Right, this is GOING to be my week! Grin
Must redouble efforts; pineapple, RL tea, long walks, ball boucing, curry, DH Wink
, etc...have I forgotten anything?

40 week check later so I'm hoping for a bit more engagement from my son.
I managed to eat yesterday and I'm feeling stronger so I'm ready to meet Harry! I hope he's listening. x

39+5!!!! Shock

Vikks · 11/10/2010 10:14

Nymph Glad things are going well for you at home. x

ILoveGregoryHouse · 11/10/2010 10:35

Hi all. Think Elsa is moving down south this weekend. Hope she'll be back on soon.

Well, ob-gyn i saw this morning just refused me a cs. I'll take it as a sign just to wait. Maybe next week.

Have been making more biscuits and bought a new bread maker yesterday. Nesting.

OP posts:
shieldbug · 11/10/2010 10:56

SamB love the mental picture of you eating a WHOLE pineapple! Thanks for doing the list. It's so exciting to see how many arrivals there's been so far.

hermya any news yet? Hope things are going well for you.

ILGH I suppose it's a good sign that they refused you a cs?? I mean, that everything seems to be straightforward? Mmm, please send some biscuits in this direction. It's funny how the urge to bake seems to take hold at this time. I suddenly got a notion on Saturday to make butterfly cakes!

nymph good to hear things are going well, and please keep up the tips for those of us who really have no clue what we are about to be hit blessed with!

Vikks so pleased to hear you are feeling better. Come on Harry, it's definitely time to make an appearance!

Had some pains in the night but all quiet now. Still being driven round the bend by PUPPP. If the consultant does offer a sweep on Wednesday, I think I'll take it. I know it's not the most pleasant experience and doesn't always work, but I'm willing to give it a go.

39+2

SamanthaB123 · 11/10/2010 11:02

Shieldbug I often have pains in the night too, all quiet here now though. My consultant is going to do a sweep when I am 40 weeks but when I spoke to my midwife I asked her if she would do it next time I see her instead - the consultant is a man and has massive hands Shock. Thankfully she was happy to oblige! So I will have a sweep at 39 weeks. My mouth still feels weird from the pineapple Blush.

Hermya321 · 11/10/2010 11:25

Nymph I'm glad that things are going well for you.

SamB Is there a time when you can have sweeps? Or can you just ask for them? I mean the worst that can happen is that they say no.

Shield No news here I'm afraid, I'm still knocking around feeling quite quite achey. I started a thread in childbirth and apparently you can have stop/start contrations for a few days before the real thing kicks in. I think the best thing I can do is ignore it, go buy some chocolate and go for a walk round town and look at pretty things.

Xavielli · 11/10/2010 11:43

Hey honeymoo A due date buddy! I hope we both make it in October - Although my small person doesn't seem to be making any efforts to arrive yet.

Sigh, trying to make a midwife appointment as my BP was high last week. Nothing at my GP's surgery so now I'm being shunted from pillar to post. Might just go to our local drop in doctors and ask them to do my BP then phone the MW and let her know what it is. Any thoughts?
