Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AbFabT · 05/10/2010 20:25

Thanks, ILGH. Would you like my address to send my biscuit to? :) Mm, I love houmous - I could eat it every day (often I do!). Not so keen on pea soup, even without the bacon bits, but thanks anyway! :)

Mm, nymph, I am chilliing things up too! :) Overdid it a bit last night, nearly blew my head off, oops! I'm also upping the garlic as it's meant to be good for fighting off bacteria such as strep-b (not that I've been tested), but the garlic can't hurt. Plus it is yummy!

Good luck, Lizkin. If it's any consolation, I don't think the pig sperm is inserted as in with a turkey baster, I think it's been formulated into capsule form! :) I am sure when you are that close to getting your baby, you won't be thinking about this anyway!

40+1.

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 06:29

Lizkin good luck! Also, feel a bit if a fool, it was lice. Nursery sent ds home today asking us to treat his hair-mum did it and said ge was crawling with them. A classmate of his had them last week we found out from his dad this pm. Dp and mum had a few, mum said she couldn't see any in mine but I'm still scratching so going to to it tomoro anyway. Found a couple on dd's babygro but her hair's fine. Guess they either fell off me or dd.

Health visitor coming in the pm. Nervous vos of weight issue but dd is feeding, pooing and peeing well (another two poos since 8pm! Oh no - there goes another) so they can't say she's dehydrated or anything. Only thing now is my tummy and back are a bit sore and the hospital let me go without giving me my drugs - I hadn't needed any for a while so when they rang me to say I
just said it was fine - wishing I hadn't now but I font know how I'd get them anyway. not keen on a return trip!

Just out of curiosity, what did bfing mums do at night before MN came along?? Grin Grin.

My mum brought me three cards up with her from friends of hers - between them there was £55 in them. How lovely was that? And I had a package from my aunty with two lovely babygros, one with matching hat, and a beautiful (pink) soft pramsuit. Two of my friends with daugthters gave offered me their baby clothes as they were about to get rid of them they said. People are so generous when you have a baby.

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 06:32

That should be fell off me or ds, obviously.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 06/10/2010 07:06

Hi floozie-mmmm nits sound just what you need right now! Sounds like you are doing great. Btw mn late whilst bfing is how the addiction starts-it's an absolute life saver if LO feeds for 45mins every 2hrs!

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 07:19

Seashells - just what I thought! Also our lovely neighbours who had offered to help with lifts etc had texted me in hosp on Sunday to say their ds had chicken pox so we've got to avoid them for a week. Great! Good news though, my neighbour just told us she is preggrrs too!!! Baby due in April. I'm sooooo delighted fir her cos she'd said about wanting another but her dp wasn't keen. Looks like she got her way again! And we'll be on mat leave together for a while.

Xavielli · 06/10/2010 08:25

Oh Floozie - I'm glad for you that it is only headlice. I know that nothing like that is nice, but my blinkin' cats have brought yet another flea infestation into my house!!!!! Grrrrrr - The cats have now been treated but I'm paranoid about using the house spray whilst pregnant and breastfeeding, have hot washed all linens etc but know that currently every time I hoover/move/fart more of the little buggers spawn. Makes me want to sob!

MW today - hope I get a better one than last time!

36+3

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 08:29

Xavielli oh no, you got my fleas! Seriously really joe you can get rid of them pronto.

SamanthaB123 · 06/10/2010 09:23

Floozie Both of my DD's have had terrible bouts of headlice in the past. You have my sympathies, they can be a pain to get rid of completely. I found tea tree shampoo and conditioner really good at keeping them at bay particularly if you comb the condidtioner through with the nit comb.

Xavielli You are having a terrible time with fleas. Hope you get them sorted out soon!

The only news here is that I have an upset tummy. No contractions though. It is my DD's birthday tomorrow, I'm not going to end up with two children born on the same day am I?!

BionicEar · 06/10/2010 09:54

Lizkin - sending you lots of postive vibes am sure all will go well even if they are using pig semen to kick you off! Look forward to hearing your announcement when baby does put in appearance.

Xavielli - you have my sympathy, having recently battled with fleas can understand how you feel. Get that spray down - go out of house, get DH to hoover everywhere and open all windows before you return. Might need to do a couple of times before it does the trick.

Floozie - ooh dear regarding lice - hope you get rid of pronto. Have a lice recipe to kill them off which a friend gave me...

"Jungle juice"

100ml baby shapoo
20 drops each of... eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender essential oil.

Put on every day for 10 days - and this should kill everything according to my friend.

She suggest everyone in house should be treated to ensure it does work but I would check whether that safe to use on newborn baby before doing this.

Well I slept on and off last night. Woke up to baby kicking me like mad in ribs - how kind!

Cna't believe I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow. Yay!

cheekymonkeyno3 · 06/10/2010 10:08

sorry i haven't been on for a while things are a bit busy with moving this weekend.

Liskin good luck - how exciting. no i hadn't thought about pre-eclampsia i didn't know it affected your ribs. i'd better do some research now.

Nymph wow tomorrow how amazing. best of luck.

nymphadora · 06/10/2010 10:20

floozie sorry but this is the start of a battle that will last many years! I hate nits, my two have long thick curly hair and are a nightmare to comb.

24 hours and I'm on to theatre [scared]

38 weeks today

Hermya321 · 06/10/2010 10:32

Nymph OOoooooo how exciting!! You get to meet your LO in less than 24 hrs.

Floozie I think they sobbed into their muslins.

Seriously I don't know what I would have done without MN, I didn't have a clue about how to get pregnant. I spent one week on a thread in conception and before I knew it, I was chattering away about cervical mucus like a pro Wink.

Well I'm still crampy this morning but apart from that not much is happening.

SamanthaB123 · 06/10/2010 11:06

Does anyone know if an diarrhea is a side effect of raspberry leaf tea tablets? I got up with an upset tummy, which has happened a few times in the last week. I hadn't been taking RLT but decided to start today after breakfast (and after the first upset). Since then I've been in the loo twice more in quite a significant way (sorry TMI I know Blush). Is this 'a sign' or just the effect of the RLT?

38 weeks

sassie23 · 06/10/2010 11:51

SamanthaB123 not sure but I have been having similar symptoms and started the RLT last week only one cup a day so far but thinking I should up that today 37+3?? Didn't sleep a wink last night peeing all night then eventually got up at 5am so wrecked now esp guilty as have plonked DS in front of cbeebies would give anything for a decent nights kip bfore LO comes along

Vikks · 06/10/2010 11:54

Sam Upset tummy is a sign! Maybe just maybe?. Wink
Hermya Snap! I chatted on conception for ages whilst trying to get PG, totally addictive. I think I have the ladies on there to thank too.
Nymph Best of luck tomorrow, I think we?ll all be with you in spirit.

I?m having a seriously hormonal day. As of last night I?m officially the last of my NCT group to still be PG. Everyone is snuggling their newborns and I?m stomping around like an angry hippo! I think the icing on the cake was an email this morning full of baby pictures from an old friend who gave birth last week.
What do I sound like? Green eyed monster or what?? EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy
Oh yeah, and the texts have started ?Any news?? Angry I feel very sorry my DH he must be a saint.
I?ve just booked some reflexology for tomorrow to try and cheer me up and hopefully get things moving. Sorry to rant, I know we?re all going through the same.

39 Weeks today!!! Shock

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 11:54

Nymph that's what I feared. Teach me to keep ds's hair a bit longer! I've got long hair too and am dreading doing it. Perhaps it's time to embrace the jaunty crop Grin.

Two hours till health visitor. [Cue Jaws music]. Luckily dd is having a monster feed now and I've got some expressed milk to force feed her too. Fx her weight is at least stable. May have to try to explain the discrepancy between what the ff nursery nurse recorded and the actual reading depending on how dozy this one is. I've met her once with ds and am nit keen but she's sort of a combination of falsly nice, bit patronising and head girlish and not quite there iirc.

moonstorm · 06/10/2010 12:02

Good luck Floozie keep an eye on poos (prays for none before HV comes) as they can make a big difference in the early weeks to weight.

Have been watching a spider spin a web outside my front window (I rather like spiders) fascinating! Wish ds was here to see it! The garden spiders are spinning loads of webs outside our house, but I think they are so pretty (the spiders and webs Grin) and would much rather these than flies!

Samantha diarrhoea is definitely a sign

The odd cramp this morning, but realised my belly was not tight, so a bit of a let down!!

Try to clean the house - hoping that being eenergetic could get things moving!!!

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 12:07

Also, I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 12lbs, am 9lbs above my pre-pg weight. Last time I was back to about 5lb over after a week I think but it's sodifferent having a section. The only excercise I got was crawling up and back to Scbu from the ward and since I've had her back i've just sat basically. Also stuffing food down like a mad woman because i'm hungry and I want her to get maximum calories. I'm not worried about weight, once I'm happy the feeding is going well and she's gaining, and I can move mire, I'm sure it will disappear without me noticing running around after ds too. Not so sure about the weird shaped tummy though! How long do the separated muscles take to go back together, those who've had CSs? I did do a few of those pelvic rocking excercises recommended by the physio in bed ladlst night but then my tummy was sore later. Not sure if the two were related or not.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 06/10/2010 12:09

Nymph- best of luck for tomorrow!

Floozie - stick to your guns re hv- hope it goes well :)

Vikks - I had 12 close friends and family email/text/call/fb me yesterday. By the end of the day I was like "'dad, do you seriously think i would have given birth without telling you ?!!!" I'm far too hormonal for this shit!!!

The waiting continues. I may have to have sex again :( Grin

floozietoozie · 06/10/2010 12:11

Xposts moonstorm. I'm just so delighted every time I see apoo because then I know she's getting milk but you're right, there is the other side of it.

shieldbug · 06/10/2010 12:15

Hope everything goes well lizkin and the pains aren't as intense as you fear.

ooh nymph so close now. good luck.

Bionic bacon butty and hot chocolate...mmmm. How nice of your friend to sort dinner for you.

ILGH very Envy of your mezze platter.

Hmm...is there a food theme emerging here?

Well, i've got another consultants appointment today, so I am hoping she can recommend something for the rash. If I cry, do you think she'll agree to speed things up? No, I didn't really think so either. I don't even think sproglet is engaged yet, so could be a long time to go yet.
Join me in bouncing on those exercise balls, ladies and let's have another round of arrivals!

moonstorm · 06/10/2010 12:23

Floozie know what you mean - the poos are the most important thing - I just meant for that little time before the HV Smile

shieldbug · 06/10/2010 12:26

[stupid] emoticon, I posted and missed an entire page!!

Yuk to head lice floozie They tend not to like adult hair so you probably won't have many, if any yourself. Serious action with a nit comb needed! I'm feeling an itchy scalp just thinking about it. Good luck with the hv.

samantha ..who knows, could be the start of things. I think your body tries to clear itself out first iyswim.

seashells and vikks thankfully I haven't got to the endless calls stage yet, but sounds very annoying. Hope it all kicks off for you soon.

38+4

Hermya321 · 06/10/2010 12:26

Seashells, Vikks My Mum was on the phone to me just now asking that very same question.

Seashells I love 'I'm far too hormonal for this shit', I think I'll be using that phrase today.

Floozie I got my long hair cut earlier on in the pregnancy, it does take less time to dry now. Plus a jaunty crop can do wonders for opening up the face, add in a few highlights and some mascara and you're onto a winner Grin.

I've been getting cramps on and off today, I was walking around Asda praying to God that he kick starts this labour pronto. Well I didn't think twiddling my nipples in the cheese aile was very appropriate.

Xavielli · 06/10/2010 12:36

moonstorm I've got loads of spiders in my garden at the moment, they are so interesting to watch. Love the flecks of colour on their big fat abdomen and when I look out in the morning all the webs in my jungle grass are covered in dew and it looks magical (in a slightly Tim Burton way).

Been cuddling my friends 7 week old baby this morning, can't wait to meet mine!

SeaShells I so hope baby arrives soon. You never know, maybe she is hanging on in there waiting for the designer birthdate :o My money is on Sunday!

Thinking of you today Lizkin
