Had to share as well - we had the telly on this morning to try and see the moon eclipse (too cloudy to actually see it outside) DS saw all the people bedded down at airports and said "they all fell over outside, that's why they are lying down inside. The man still outside [chairman of BAA or something] didn't fall over, that's why he is still outside" - I love the child's eye view of the world :)

Merry Christmas all!

It's been quiet on here! Hope you all had a lovely time.

We had a good time except the SG having a tempertature for a week and it making her little miss grumpsville for the entire period including xmas day! It was hard work with her screaming for Daddy throughout lunch when he was the one doing the cooking Hmm

Anyway, it was all good.

Any updates on the TTC people? anyone due to test soon?

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 30/12/2010 09:42

Morning! Hi TINKS,GYO and everyone else! Xmas day sounded tough GYO, but glad you got through/enjoyed it! It is really hard when they are poorly and screechy; I have to admit that's the one side of parenting I really struggle with.
All fine here; still waiting for my bleedin' hotel chocolat boxes ordered 12th dec so that I can return them Angry and my refund from the entertainer so that I can buy food!
Have also decided to join a gym. In my past life I was a bit of a gym addict (anyone for a 5.30am spinning class?) but have seriously lapsed on the exercise front. The clincher has been that the gym I've chosen is one of a chain and not only is there one in my local town but also next to work (the same road amazingly).
On the testing front, 3 days post-ov here according to temps, so a while to go yet.
Love to all!

Hiya everyone

Great to "see" you Diege and TInk.

Diege- gym sounds good. I used to be a early am gym addict too ! Blush back in the day when I was working and living very close and had no small people to hang of my leg look after. I will join you virtually!

Tink - enjoy your mums

Im having lots of fun seeing family which is great for the SG.

:)

Am dreading return to work next week though! Im rather enjoying running the house etc...
Hmm

GingerbreadGiraffe · 30/12/2010 17:57

talking of exercise

I've just ordered the wii fit plus and board. I've used active fit up to now but im bored of that so need something fresh. Looking forward to it coming though dont know when. I'd upgraded to get super next day delivery and then it was cancelled this morning Hmm

Whats everyone doing for new year?

Rugbylovingmum · 30/12/2010 19:17

Hi all,

hope everyone is having a great xmas hol. We've had a lovely but busy few days. It's been nice to see both our families but I'm very glad to be home ready for a few lazy days before going back to work. C had a fab xmas and now has more toys than any child needs thanks to her over-excited grandparents and scores of aunties, uncles, cousins, great-aunties........ She has loved being fussed over but she is shattered today, bless her.

Giraffe - I have the wii fit board and game but it has been gathering cobwebs since C was still a bump. We are thinking about starting to ttc in June and I am determined not to have obese (or even overweight) on my maternity notes so I've just dug it out again along with my old diet mags and my Davina dvds. We can be virtual workout buddies. Sorry for poorlies BTW, I hope SG is all better.

Diege - exercising in the morning Shock. It takes everything I have just to drag myself out of bed and get dressed. I am NOT a morning person. The FC jacket definitely makes up for dodgy shower stuff - you'll have to post a link so we can all feel very Envy.

Tink - have a great time at your mum's. Which dance game do you have for the wii? My PIL bought me Just Dance 2 and I'm dying to get it on and have a bop around the playroom Grin.

Hi to everyone else .

GingerbreadGiraffe · 31/12/2010 12:19

Hi Rugby

OOh for TTC in June!!! Hooray for another wagon belt coming undone!

Your xmas sounds good. Glad C was spoilt wiht lots of pressies :) that's how it should be!

Maybe we can be Wii fit buddies along with Tink? I need encouragement - not to mention another few hours in the day!

My Wii fit is due to arrive today- so fingers crossed it comes before SG wakes from her nap!

Off to do some hoovering!

GruffaloSoldier · 31/12/2010 13:09

Hi all

I am here but really suffering, have awful flu and now looks like a chest infection too. Im off to the docs this afternoon.

Me, DH and GC have been ill constantly since DH broke up

Its a nightmare.

We did have a nice Christmas, just didnt get that much sleep!

Anyway, got to go it hurts :(

essenceofSES · 31/12/2010 13:48

Hello all!

Gruff - that sounds rough :( Hope the doctor sorts you out

Ginger - Wii Fit sounds good. I'm almost tempted to look at getting one for my birthday in February. Just not sure when I'd find the time to use it! Maybe O and I can do some exercise together every Wednesday on my day off!

Rugby - sounds like a great Christmas for you all and yay for ttc later this year :)

tink - enjoy visiting your mum :)

Diege - FC jacket sounds great but Hmm at the strawberry shower gel! Fingers crossed for you this month.

As for me, I'm now on the 6ww Hmm
DH's throat infection meant no SWI in the vital week and then the few days he was better that may just have snuck in on the timing, we were in Ireland where we didn't have the best of times :(
DH's cousin was killed in a car crash on Monday evening. He was 28yo with everything to live for. He and his best friend were killed instantly and a pg woman in another car also died along with her unborn baby. All so sad and tragic. Being Ireland, the funeral was quick (yesterday) so we went to that at 2pm and then drove directly to the airport to fly home afterwards.
The family are understandably devastated and DH's granny - who is 95yo - was broken. She kept saying it should have been her as he was so young. It was heart-breaking :(

We couldn't get away from it at all really as it was on the front pages of the national newspapers over there and on the tv headlines.

Sorry to put a downer on things but it does put things in perspective. I think my new years resolution will be to appreciate more what I have.

DH's 40th birthday in 2011 and he's said he would like to go on a nice holiday somewhere but he's not sure where as he's hoping I'll be pg by July :)

GingerbreadGiraffe · 31/12/2010 19:03

Evening!

I may be the only billy no mates on here tonight! DH is out so Im relaxing and getting drunk on gin reading a novel.

Gruff sorry for being so poorly and the ongoing bugs attacking the Gruffalo household. Its really miserable, I had long run of illness after illness last year and its kills your immunity. Sending get well wishes over the main road!

Ses I am so sorry to hear of your DH's cousins death. That must have been an awful shock. Hope your DH and his family are ok as they can be.

Sad for the 6 WW. Understandable if your DH is poorly (isnt everyone sick just now?). What was that acronym you used for GOF... not heard that one before!

Glad hear that is keen you are pregnant by July. Hope you find a good holiday destination!

essenceofSES · 31/12/2010 19:38

Hello Giraffe! I'm here too for the evening! Neither of us really felt like doing much tonight after the last few days and especially as our flight back was delayed by 2hrs so didn't get to bed til 1.30am this morning anyway! I was then up at 7am to go to work!
We're currently sat waiting for curry to be delivered with A Question of Sport on, me on the laptop and DH on his iPad with a box of Quality Street on the go!
Not sure we'll make it to midnight though!

I like the acronym GOF - I'd rather have a GOF (good ol' f*ck) than SWI (sex with intent)Grin

Anyway, Happy New Year to you all! I hope it brings much happiness, love, laughter and good health to you all :)

GingerbreadGiraffe · 31/12/2010 20:07

Hi Ses

Sounds like a fab evening! Wish I'd thought of ordering a curry :)

Dont blame you for being knackered after that journey home and the toll of the last few days.

How is DH liking the Ipad? Im tempted but cant decide....

Time to get my dinner before come dine with me starts!

EssenceofSES · 31/12/2010 20:46

DH is luurrving his iPad! Says it's the best present he's ever had!

We've just watched EastEnders and I really wish we hadn't. Whole cot death / baby swap storyline was really upsetting and just rubbish. Looking for a film we both want to watch now!

Starshinetiger · 31/12/2010 23:42

Evening all. Happy New Year's Eve. Hope you've all enjoyed whatever you've been doing. E've just been sat watching comedy, but still don't think I'm going to make it to 12 ;)

Ses - very sorry for your DH's loss this week. Very glad you had a nice Christmas before that and that he's positive about you getting pg this year - did warn you about the standing tickets ;)

Rugby - Grin re you TTCing this year.

Gruff - sorry for feeling so ill. Is especially tough when you're pg and have a little one to look after. Hope you get well soon.

Giraffe - hope you're night in has been a good one. Sorry DD was I'll over Christmas. We had DS with chicken pox and DD with temp and clinginess on Xmas day, so can empathise.

Tink - hope you've had a good party, glad shopping has continued well, hope you continue propping up the economy in 2011 Grin

Right, off to bed. See you all next year Grin

Starshinetiger · 31/12/2010 23:44

P.S. Diege - gym fitted in around children and job - you truly are superwoman
Wii fitters - my Mum bought us one for Christmas, which we need to get set up, then will be ready to join you :)
