Hello everyone :)

Obviously have not caught up at all, congrats to Gruff and Can't, Tink had kept me up to date! Hope every one is well?

I've got so much to tell you guys, it has been absolutely manic here these last few months, just one thing after another, firstly, I have finished my course, not had last marks back yet, but I got top marks pretty much the whole way through so am expecting the gain the level 3 diploma :) Secondly, I am in the midst of starting my own business, new phone line going in on the 27th, once that is good to go, then I get some ad's done etc. Website is nearly done, just waiting for pics, t'is here if anyone fancies a nosy (and a bit of proof reading?!!).

So that is the good news, bad news is Monday just gone, we had the health visitor round, she is fairly sure DS2 has an ASD, she is being brilliant, reffering him all over the shop, getting him the help and support he will need when he start's school etc. but obviously, we're reeling a bit.

Anyway, enough of me rabbiting on! I'll be back to check up on you all! xxx

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 21/10/2010 16:18

hi nat great to have u back Grin

GruffaloSoldier · 21/10/2010 20:25

Hi everyone,

NJ - Welcome back. Congrats on your diploma.

Sorry to hear about DS2. Like I said on FB, if you want any advice/info etc then please inbox me as I have worked with children with autism for 8 years so am happy to help. My nephew also has Aspergers so I have gone through alot with my sister, through diagnosis etc.

I'll go and have a look at your website in a sec...

Hope everyone is ok. Its a bit warmer tonight apparently so that is good.

And its Friday tomorrow! :) :)

essenceofSES · 21/10/2010 21:35

Hello!

Gruff - congrats on your scan :)
Pain about your buyers though. Hope you get more interest quickly.

Nat - lovely to have you back with us! Congrats on getting through your course and setting up your business!
Sorry to hear of DS2's ASD. Sounds like you've got good support from HV (and Gruff!) but I can imagine it must be a bit to get your head round.

Hello tink, Giraffe and Diege

Telford was good and then I got invited to another meeting today in London to represent my boss at too. I'm kind of glad he had this week off as it's done my profile the power of good! It did make me think more about career vs mum but I've decided you can't plan for what you don't know. I've got my half year review with my boss next Thursday so I will make it clear that I'm interested in career progression. If I have to tell him a few months later that I'm pg then so be it. It took 18mo to get pg last time though so I just can't carry on my life as if I'm about to get pg IYKWIM.

DS and DH managed well. No hospital trips although O did fall and bump his head at nursery both days - one time resulting in a bloody nose! I wonder whether he's having a growth spurt as he's normally very steady on his feet.

I have tomorrow off in lieu of my days out this week so it will be nice to spend some time with O but the house is a tip - flooring been fitted and DH, his brother and BIL been doing gardening and walking in and out. Loads of washing to do too.

GiraffeYoga · 22/10/2010 08:18

Morning

Ses- glad Telford was good- sounds like you've had a good few days stepping up for your boss. :) I think you are right to not think about the possibilty of being about to get pregnant regarding work- although thats very hard to do in practice.

Nat- welcome back! well done for the exams etc. Had a nosey at your website, looks great. Sorry to hear about DS2. Hope you get the support that you need.

Gruff- the scan pic is fab! Its sooo clear. Are you feeling any better yet?

Hi Tink!

dd1 off school from today as inset day Hmm

at least fri Grin

hi giraffe and ses [hgrin]

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/10/2010 09:25

morning...

can't stop as off shopping later- but need some advise as what to do?

scan put me 5 days further PG than we'd got... the date of my last period was 22nd july... that'd mean i OV'd on day 8? rather than day 13 as i'd thought.... and would also be wrong for when insems were.... we did insems on 3rd & 5th august (CD 12 & 14).... someone please tell me the scan may just measure big because the baby is on the big side? and not that a 'mistake' happened with me and DH before the insems? Confused Sad I'm really getting worried about it, and even considering a DNA test while PG without telling friends....?

GiraffeYoga · 22/10/2010 09:39

Hi Cant

Im not sure I can advise directly as I havent had enough scans to say if they can be out regarding the dates. I always thought it cant be totally accurate though as the due dates are always plus or minus 2 wks in reality.

I think if it was I'd have to look at the odds of it being DH's baby, if its high (ie had unprotected at that time) I'd probably tell friends if you were going to get DNA test- I think if I was them I'd rather be prepared for hearing that news that just have it sprung on me...

Hope all was well with the scan other than that.

OP posts:
GiraffeYoga · 22/10/2010 09:41

Another thought, cant the egg survive inside for about 5 days? So if you ovulated day 8ish and inseminated day 12 its still possible.

OP posts:
Diege · 22/10/2010 10:26

Just a quickie from me too as dd3 poorly and off to docs.
CANT, I really wouldn't place too much importance on 5 days either way (they allow 7-10 days either way here without changing due date. FWIW ds measured 6 days ahead right through the pregnancy from the week 7 scan onwards and I was 100% sure of the ovualtion date due to opks etc. If you remember my CB conception indicator always put me ahead too by a week or so. He was 9ib 8oz at 38+ weeks so a big boy. I really don't think there's anything to worry about here, just that your baby ison the big side (for now). PLus didn't you have a slight implantation bleed at what would be the right time? Hope this helps!xxx
HI to NAT too! Right, back later x

Diege · 22/10/2010 10:27

By 'big' I mean a few days ahead of the average; it may well even out by 20 week scan, or continue as with. I really wouldn't worry x

essenceofSES · 22/10/2010 14:13

Cant - I think the reassurance others have given you on timescales and dating accuracy is absolutely right. Unless you remember having unprotected sex around that time, I really think you have nothing to worry about.
Hope you enjoy your shopping trip.

tink - hope you're enjoying inset day?!

Hello Diege and Giraffe!

I took O for his first proper haircut this morning at a little place not too far from here especially for children. They have loads of toys and DVD screens with cartoons by the workstations. O hardly noticed his hair being cut! He didn't want to leave afterwards as he wanted to play with their train set. I'm thinking that we'll get him one for Christmas.
Anyway, he looks very smart now and hopefully his hair will start to thicken up a bit more!

Diege · 22/10/2010 16:25

Hello Smile. Hope you're feeling reassured CANT. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure that there realy isn;t anything to worry about x
Hi SES, what a good idea to have a place where LOs can go to have their hair cutthat caters for children. So difficult to find. I'm sure O look very sweet, though I know what you mean about needing the hair to 'thicken up' - J still has a look of the old 'comb over' going on.
TINKS, Hi! I shopped well last weekend you will be pleased to hear - bit of a splurge on Gap for all 4. When I got home I noticed my copy of Grazia had had a 25% discount voucher for that weekend Angry
On ttc front, I had a pinkish streak in CM on 3/4 days post-ov, and then on next toilet visit a wipe of brown; nothing since. Have been googling implantation bleed obsessively, and it seem implanataion can happen from 3 days post -ov Hmm. Very similar to the bleed I had with ds so we'll see. Not getting my hopes up after the chemical pregnancy 2 mths ago anyway.
Hope everyone's well Smile

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 22/10/2010 16:37

afternoon

cant - others have given very helpful information
dont know if i can advise anymore

would definelty think if u and dh had unprotected sex around the same time and if not wouldnt worry

hi ses - bless @ 1st haircut

hi diege - sounds promising for you Wink
i had implantation bleed with dd2

yah for shopping Grin

i am off food shopping tom and pressy shopping for bdays

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/10/2010 19:21

thanks for the advise ladies.... Me and DH didn't 'do' anything full on and unprotected while we were in the few weeks before the insems (ie from the start of that cycle) and until after doing the pregnancy test... when we did 'do' anything we did use condoms and even then tried not to go 'all the way' anyway..... but these things can still happen can't they? and i was just worried that 5 days seemed such a lot to be out, but at the same time, i've been so bloody sick that it's no surprise if the baby is on the big size as it's had every possible drop it can take from me!! :)

Anyway- i think my mind is at rest- it just really put me and DH in one of those panics... we knew we'd not done anything to put ourselves at risk, but also worried about the logistics around the insem dates etc.

GruffaloSoldier · 22/10/2010 21:04

Hi all, just a quick post

Cant - I would take dates with pinch of salt! They moved my dates forward by two days which meant that I conceived the day before we had our GOF!!Hmm

Sorry to post and run but watching something with DH!

Diege · 23/10/2010 12:37

Hello Smile. Hope you're feeling reassured now CANT; no reason whatsoever to suppose anything's suspect x
On my own with dd3 and ds today and tom orrow as dh is away with the older dds. Weather very on and off, so have 'done' the playbarn this morning, local shops, and am settling in for the afternoon.
I feel quite 'symptomy' I'll admit. In addition to the (admittedly oddly early) today I've got a metallic taste in my mouth and feel very fatigued after anything that involves exertion. I'm sure I'm setting myself up for a fall, but can't help feeling a teeny bit excited Blush
Hope everyone's ok and enjoying the weekend Smile

Diege · 23/10/2010 12:38

'In addition to the spotting I meant to say!

essenceofSES · 23/10/2010 20:30

Diege - that sounds promising!! Can I get excited for you?!

Cant - glad your mind is at rest. Meant to ask how your friends were after the scan? Thrilled I bet! Did you go out for a celebratory meal or anything with them?

Tink - hope you enjoyed your time alone shopping.

I'm a bit Hmm at DH today. He called me to come home from work early as he was feeling ill with "man 'flu" (his words!)I agreed to pack up and come home at about 11.30 instead of 1 but he then phoned and said he'd gone for a drive and stopped off at the local farmer's market! Obviously really ill Hmm He then spent the afternoon in bed whilst I cleared up and now XFactor and Strictly are on, he's amazingly recovered!

Diege · 24/10/2010 10:52

Morning Smile. I wouldn't get too excited SES - I'm now sure I'm not pregnant after a temp dip and boobs not so sore Sad. I may well do a test later to confirm so that I can properly indulge my misery Wink
I think I would be a tad Biscuit at dh and his man 'flu - did he fess up in the end or was a dramatci recovery just as you got back? Hmm
Weather freezing here - have stalled the morning park visit but will have to head out sooner or later as ds very whiney and dd3 not at her best either.

essenceofSES · 24/10/2010 13:25

Morning Diege! I'll keep my fingers crossed it's an implantation dip in temp?!

DH has stuck to his guns that he's ill but getting better. He's done alright though since as he cooked tea last night and we managed a GOF this morning - CD14 and a high on CBFM

Had a lovely morning at church. Those on FB may have seen O having a go on the full set of drums last week. Well this morning, my friend that plays the drums, gave him a little music set - drum, tambourine, maracas, recorder and harmonica!! He loves it :)

Off to a 1st birthday party with DS now. Catch you all later!
