March 2011 - rolling on into the second trimester

We filled the first thread, time for a new one. Anyone and everyone due in March 2011 are welcome.

morning ladies,
Hope everyone who's had scans are feeling a little more relaxed and those still waiting hold on just a little while longer!!!!
Well, today is the calm before what is known as half term round our way!! I just keep thinking once this half term is over i have only got christmas break and then no more getting up and being out the door for 7am!! I know some of you probably do this every day but i haven't had to do it since the summer and am dreading the cold dark starts .

I am having my flu jab tomorrow morning so will be looking for an afternoon lying quietly on the sofa with mn and a load of junk fruit whilst DH takes DS to watch the football !!

Afternoon all.
I'm at work feeling particularly lazy today. Have got myself into quite a routine lately, I wake up every morning and as I start to get dressed I look at my bump in the mirror and consider if its looking like a baby or like a chubby belly. For the last week I have been pleased to see a pregnant belly but this morning it was just a chubby belly. This just means the baby has moved right? I shouldn't be worried should I? Someone please reassure me or I'm going to obsess about it and drive myself crazy. Also slightly concerned that I'm nearly 19 weeks pregnant and haven't felt a single baby movement. :(

Unlike Sam I'm looking forward to 3:30pm today. I need a week off. I need to start clearing out my flat so I have space for baby things. I don't think I've thrown away a single possession I own for nearly 10 years. I need a clear out. I'm dreading it because I'm rather keen on "stuff" especially stuff that falls into the category of "my stuff".

1catherine ure worrying for nothing hun baby moves so does the shape of the belly lol with my dd she made my bump go to one side i looked weird one day then next she would go to my back and i just look fat lol am sure she was enjoying herself...
i cant wait to feel movements but am only 17 weeks didnt feel them till 20+ weeks with dd ..

had my first consultant appointments today waste of time for him to tell me am not depressed just worried as having past miscarriages the lasted being in may so he could understand why i was a bit upset at my booking appointment but does feel i need to see a consulant for people with mental health issues which i new i didnt need to and have never been depressed .. roll on nov 10 for scan have a good day everyone
got to do some house work won tickets to the baby show so we taking dd for a day out to look at baby stuff sure she gonna love it ..

Updating list again, as we had our scan today, everything looked wonderful, got to see baby yawn which was cute! We chose not to find out sex so have just changed it to BABY.

Not posted for a while. Glad to hear all is going well with the scans! I had mine on Weds, all is well, decided not to find out the sex. Have told DS as well so he is excited he is having a baby brother or sister! Please could someone update the list for me as for some reason I can't and seemed to have been missed of again, thank you.

Hi all, wow i really don't come on here often enough to keep up with you all!

Had my scan today and found out we are having a boy who is going to be very much spoilt by his 3 big sisters!! Our girls are over the moon to be having a brother - and i'm secretly happy that i can buy all brand new clothes.
Does anyone know what pv measurements mean in a scan? i've googled but can't find out. I had a pv measuring 5.5mm and want to know if thats normal whatever it is.

Is anyone else thirsty all the time?

I just went to a restaurant, drank my glass of water, my partner's glass of water, then asked for another glass of water before I left, then drank another big glass about 30 mins later.

I seem to do this all the time. No problem, just wondering??

Was treated to a lot of banana cake at my aunt's house last night...i'm so lucky!! Amazing how much i seem to eat despite my stomach having supposedly shrunk to accommodate bump...

1catherine1, pls dont worry about shape or movements at this stage. At 19weeks i hadn't felt a thing, at nearly 21 now and only get the occasional flutter...it really does vary from person to person. As for bump shape and size, remember a lot of what you see isnt just uterus but also the fact your stomach is moving upwards etc...so after food you probably look a lot more pregnant than first thing in the morning.

Pippipip i am ALWAYS thirsty...it is good thing though, apparently drinking lots of water helps to reduce your tiredness! (not really worked for me but hey ho) I'm sure baby loves it.

PipPip it is normal to be pretty thirsty but excessive thirst can be a symptom of gestational diabetes, it isn't anything to panic about, as it would be picked up at your next antenatal appointment.
I think it is just wise to be aware.

Hi sittinghippo thanks for your reply. I was vaguely aware that being super thirsty can be a sign of GD but thankfully I've been feeling really fit and sparky, so hopefully it is just a sign of - ummm - thirst.

But I think I have to do the routine mini-glucose test at my next appointment, so hopefully that'll clear up any niggling doubt.

afternoon ladies
Have just picked up my emmas diary mum-to-be pack. Got very excited by a few little free samples, but they were things I would use.
Am feeling a bit hormonal, had quite bad depression last year and so we've been a bit worried it's rearing it's ugly head again but i'm hoping it will settle down in a few days.
I think it's the whole reality of having a another baby dawning. With a nearly 10 year old and a 6 1/2 year old our lives are a fairly established and holidays and lie ins a definite possibilty. We are about to throw all that in the air! I know it's going to be so exciting but a little scarey too!
Trying to spend time resting and looking at the positive side of the changes coming our way.

Hi Jammie I think it's normal to feel a bit scared by the change coming our way! I have a nearly 6 year old and 4 year old and life is pretty settled at the moment. I too ponder on the changes we will have to adjust to. Don't get me wrong this baby is very much wanted, it's just I can't help thinking that life is going to get a bit harder for a while. I think these anxieties are totally normal. But as you have suffered depression last year just keep an eye on your feelings and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it .

pippippip I am another thirsty one, I have to drink and consequently wee very frequently . It's the only way to keep the headaches and constipation at bay. As sitting says I will keep an eye on it and the possibility of GD.

Pip I am another thirsty one and seem to crave fizzy drinks or milk shakes!! Very odd!

Had a wonderful night out last night as it was our 6th Wedding Anniversary and DH had booked a meal out as a surprise!! I had no clue where we were going and we ended up in a lovely posh country club restaurant [hgrin]. It was very yummy and even more of a surprise as DH is normally a pie, chips and beans or curry man... therefore we never go to posh places!! Luckily he had told me to dress up! [hwink]

havent posted for a while but got my 20 week scan tomorrow at 1pm, am excited but nervous too as im not sure if ive felt any definate movements yet, belly getting bit bigger and harder but not massive yet.

went to the baby show at the exel centr in london on friday, really good and lots of freebies too.tested some buggies and really like the cosatto cabi.

I'm 18 weeks but still no movement yet, won't get nervous about that for another couple of weeks but my tummy is definitely expanding so that's probably a good sign!

Hi everyone, I'm Sarah and I'm due on 11/03/11. Have only just found this ante-natal thread, hope you don't mind if I join.

I had my scan last Monday and saw a healthy bbaby girl twirling about on the screen - magic! We has a 3 yr old son already and he's very excited about being a big brother. He kisses and cuddles my bump every day.

To those who aren't feeling movement - I was 22 wks with my first pregnancy before I felt anything.

P.S. Also watching X Factor, really really hope Wagner goes too.

Hope everyone has had a nice, relaxing weekend. I have just sat down with a huge piece of chocolate cake after a very busy day celebrating DS's birthday! It was fab, he has been such a good boy and he made me very proud

It is his birthday tomorrow so this time two years ago I was in a HUGE amount of pain . It was all so worth it though!

Last week was so busy for me so I didn't have time to post and update however I had my 20 week scan on Wednesday. Everything was fine with the baby however there are indications that I am growing another big one We will know more at the growth scans but I am not worried, there is nothing I can do about it.
