I can smell if Rastus has had a poo from the next county

Cosmosis · 04/08/2010 18:15

moo I dunno really, I figure it's better to have too much in the freezer than too little - it'll get eaten! I got foil trays & lids from lakeland - the kind you get takeaway in.

Never knew that about Pampers Ski - good tip! We always use Pampers Baby-Dry at night - supposed to keep them dry for 12 hours and seems to work..no nappy rash so far

My nose is now finely attuned to the smell of poo....only get confused when DH is in the room (he farts a lot)

Bollocks Box - thought I'd remembered everything....if you could pick up some Iams for the moggies that would be great . Bad news about the MW...did she tell you what had happenned??? What a pity it happenned so close to your due date . Good to hear the new one is v. nice too - is that the one you nearly went for but didn't (famous footballer Mum)???

organiccarrotcake · 04/08/2010 19:07

What's wrong with normal Tupperware type plastic resusable pots?

I have done something new today. I went into TK Max. And I Was Impressed. I haz bought an organic cotton baby sleeping bag and Duchy Originals organic hand lotion! NOT what I expected. I desperately needed a new bag as the zip had gone on my old one, so I saw their display from the outside and nipped in - and got drawn in! I did also buy a new bag - bigger than my last one as I figure if I use a smallish toiletries bag to put the used one in, I can carry one spare nappy in the bag rather than the whole changing bag.

They had a sweet set of clothes which included a babygown so they are available in conventional stores.

I carried Comma all round town (had a lady wot lunches day) for abut 4 hours in a stretchy wrap carrier and it felt really comfy and easy. He slept the whole time and got LOADS of attention.

fanny wow - I wish Comma didn't go overnight. I'm only changing him last thing before sleep and then again when he wakes at 6 or 7, because if we change him through the night he wakes up too much and won't go back to sleep, so we're using bamboo nappies and a booster, and the babygown goes over it nicely - so useful even though we're not doing middle of the night changes. However, it's still a lot easier to do those two changes wearing the babygown as we'll get him ready for bed at around 9pm. But, when we were changing him overnight they were great, and of course for bulky, boosted overnight cloth nappies they are excellent.

box I'm with you on the holiday. We're trying to work it out too. YOB has to go to Germany for work 1/2 way through August which is an absolute bugger as it's right in the middle of when we could go away during the school holidays. We're currently considering going to Germany for a holiday therefore! Or maybe France, and he could drive over for the day.

mas there's something about a) pregnancy and b) having an actual baybee that makes people think it's ok to say totally inappropriate things. My two hated ones are, "are you feeding him yourself" and "is he good".

SilverSky · 04/08/2010 19:13

Yo bitches!

Have just spent the last hour with my nieces and nephew and frankly they must have been scoffing e numbers by the bucket load as they were wild.

cos how do you do mac cheese with bacon ??? Recipe pls.

Think shit is hitting the fan. Him Indoors has had a recorded letter delivery attempt. Have horrible feeling it's from the wanky client and that it could be a solicitors letter. Like we need this extra crap to deal with. Sincerely hope it's not. Him Indoors is on a bit of a downer. Understandably.

In horse news I have met a lady via my advert. She seems very nice and likes my 'orse. Test drive is occurring over the weekend and we will take it from there. Let's hope this one works out.

rots so you can't use the babygowns on their tod ? Can you use a sleeping bag on a newborn? I have no idea what the baybee should sleep in!

gin so pleased for you !!!

honey I am two weeks ahead of you but as we know in PESHland dates are a load of all balls. I am having severe ishoos with backache especially at work. Any tips?

I should be walking the dawg but it looks as tho a storm is a-coming and my ass is firmly stuck to the sofa.

ginhag · 05/08/2010 07:27

Cheers for the good wishes, much appreciated.

med I haven't even had my first mw appt yet! Is next Monday when I will be 11 weeks.... I couldn't help feelingblike they were waiting to see if it was actually worth booking me in although I'm sure it was more to do with overstretched mw service really.

In other news....

Yesterday I drank 1/4 of a small glass of wine AND ate 2 out-of-date sausage rolls! (the out of date thing was a complete accident and not me being all devil-may-care)

Won't someone think of my baybee????

Also if I run will the baybee fall out? (I saw that thread ski. I understand being pg, especially first time round, is worrying etc and you want to do the 'right thing' but surely it is possible to actually think a bit???)

I can't wait to go on holiday. Lots of reading books and snoozing The place looks amazing too... A day or 2 of Marrakech madness then out into the mountains...

ChoChoSan · 05/08/2010 09:41

gin you will NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF if your baybee is born with a strong aversion to sausage rolls

Backinthebox · 05/08/2010 09:46

Had a glass of wine (well, I had one. They had more,) with slightly odd neighbours last night. They have persuaded us that hols need to be in the Maldives. Which I am sure would be nice. They also recommended going child free - but frankly I want a holiday long before I will be happy to let children out of my sight for 2 weeks. Won't be able to have a water bungalow (DD has been to lots of aquariums recently and thinks sharks are lovely fish who just happen to have big teeth, and I've seen my sister's holiday pics of the sharks below their bungalow!) But I am perfectly sure that a hotel on dry land will be just as lovely, as long as there is sand for sandcastles and a waiter serving cocktails.

Silver fingers crossed this one isn't a nutter!

Moo I am worried for your dog now, after the other pet stories!

Clucky I will go to shops for the puddies then. Don't know what happened to MW. It could be anything really, couldn't it? New one is nice and is NOT the football lady - she looked a bit radical for me.

ChoChoSan · 05/08/2010 09:46

I am also please to report that baybee has pushed my stomach out enough to create one smooth round bump, rather than maintaining two small tyres of pre-existant fat rolls. I am veh happy with this, as it means I will be able to wear figure hugging maternity dresses and tops without feeling like the Michelin man.

I am so shallow and BESH like, that this was my main concern, immediately behind teflon womb...ifangyew!.

ChoChoSan · 05/08/2010 09:48

JoBoxer Water Bungalow? what's that...sounds fab...if extremely Deluxe and expensive!

PerfectDromedary · 05/08/2010 09:51

ShexyCho Looking good, laydeee!

I am rubbish at the moment - have very little to say for self and am mostly knackered all the time. But I lurk and stalk and laugh at y'alls.

Today I mostly really want to be sick.

Gin Where in the mountains? TNB and I had a doomed holiday in Morocco (small tour group, he doesn't do sociable when he doesn't feel like it, I madly over-compensated, came back EXHAUSTED) but I loved the mountainy bit. Post links? On ovver place if not here?

I'm off to Rome next Friday. Then Lecce. Hopefully I will come back feeling more like me.

Cosmosis · 05/08/2010 09:53

My mw actually told me not to run becuase it would jiggle the baby out. I ignored that. Once when out on my bike (proper off road ride) I was asked what my mw thought of my mountain biking. Erm, was my answer. I hadn't felt the need to share it with her, given her early running advice

rots nothing wrong with tupperware I use it all the time for sauces, curries etc that I freeze - but I am also making Things That Go in Oven, so with foil tray, just whack whole thing in oven, so is easier.

Muser · 05/08/2010 10:03

Today I thought I felt better and only threw up a tiny bit when I woke up, which is good for me. Then 5 mins before I had to leave the house the sickness came properly. I ended up having to completely redo my makeup as mascara was all the way down my cheeks and up to my eyebrows. Not quite the look I was going for.

Now I want to go to bed, but have a ton of work to do. Holidays are 5 weeks away. NOT SOON ENOUGH!

ginhag · 05/08/2010 10:12

box we went to Maldives when mooch was 14 months. He was treated like royalty. It was LOVELY! So nice in fact that we changed our flights and stayed for 3 weeks instead of 2...would have stayed 6 months but would def have been bankrupt!!! Flight hard work, but sooooo worth it.

cam about 45 mins in a 4x4 from Marrakech, in the foothills of atlas mountains. In a very lush place. We are NOT planning on being sociable

Will post link later...am currently getting ready for picnic in the rain. Well once you say you are going to the park it is very hard to take it back.

Poor muse. I thought I was going to barf on mooch's head when we were cleaning our teeth this morning. Mostly I just seem to do dramatic uncontrollable retching tho, so is an improvement on the pukarama that was my last proper pregnancy....

silver we have had some stress legal shit in past year so you very much have my sympathy. Hope all turns out to be nowt.

rollerbaby · 05/08/2010 10:14

God I am knackered today, due to working til midnight last night. Got to stage at 10pm where I thought I can't do this I feel physically awful. Woke up at 9.30am and luckily have arranged to work from home anyway.

silver my back amazingly (according to physio) hasn't hurt much yet. Front bits have obviously. But today it is hurting. I'm getting a new chair at work which funnily enough is due to arrive today. This is after moaning 4 times though. Seeing physio at 1130 so hopefully she can work her magic again.

Box I prbably treat the dog better than mr moo so please don;t worry!

Carrots tupperware (that isn't shit and goes funny in dishwasher) is expensive! I am planning to fill my freezer to brim so disposable pots and lids probably easier. Stop trying to make me recycle more!

ChoChoSan · 05/08/2010 10:15

Nice to see ya Humps...sorry about the sick! I am extremely about your forthcoming holidaze, coz I HEARTS Italy, I does...I went to Rome in Feb and it was pissing it down, but still mondo fabuloso.

Cos I know some one who cycled up to and including her delivery date, though not off road. I am a pootler on the bike, so only been on it once at the weekend...all fine, but I get breathless just thinking about excercise at the moment, so I shan't be doing too much of it.

Muse hope the sickness passes soon - surely you should be free within a couple of weeks...sounds like a nightmare

ginhag · 05/08/2010 10:16

box they usually don't let you have water bungalow with a small one anyway, health n safety innit.

water bungalow cho

ginhag · 05/08/2010 10:19

bollocks let's try again

SkiHorseWonAWean · 05/08/2010 10:21

muser With any luck you'll soon be able to skip the eyeshadow due to burst blood vessels colouring them purple!

Nearly booked a cycling holiday across Atlas mountains a few years ago - looked wonderful. But wasted money on ski hol instead. Next hol will be skiing in new year. Bear already has salopettes, jacket, balaclava etc. He will be Scotland's answer to the Flying Tomato - so perhaps the Flying Haggis?

Horseriding, rollercoaster, blue cheese and raw prawns failed to jiggle my baybee out. Neither did an induction. I haz cervix of steel.

Cosmosis · 05/08/2010 10:23

choch yes I know a few people who have cycled right up till the end. I don't have a pottering around bike though, so can't ride any more - can't fit on my road bike as you have to bend over too much. Could ride either of my mountain bikes in terms of position but refuse to ride them to the shops for fear of theft (both worth ££££££££), and also TGO not really happy with it in case of falling off. I rode properly (ie proper off road mtb rides) up till 26 weeks though so am happy with that.

my only excersize now is walking up the stairs for a wee

ChoChoSan · 05/08/2010 10:25

gin I went glassy eyed looking at that picture...it's amaaayze! Though it will probs be a while before we get one of that type hols...

PerfectDromedary · 05/08/2010 10:30

Want. Water. Bungalow. Now.

ChoChoSan · 05/08/2010 10:37

I've just been googling for a last minute drommers, tres cher though...perhaps an October break...though I don't like to expect the Boyf to cram his gangling frame into a tiny airline seat for more than 5 hoursif only going for a week, so might discount that option

SilverSky · 05/08/2010 10:52

Me need holiday. Our holidays will never be the same again fo' sho'. Is it irresponsible to train junior to be mummy's little waiter eg send child to bar with sign round itsneck with "more gin pls" and the dollars under his/her cap?

Cosmosis · 05/08/2010 11:13

silver recipe is:

350g pasta, cooked I usually use Penne but any shape will do.
3 small leeks, or 3 small courgettes, sliced and fried
175g bacon, in small pieces, fried.

cheese sauce;
50 butter, 50g flour, 1.5pts milk - all in pan and whisked till thickened. Add 175g grated cheese, a bit of mustard if you want, a bit of nutmeg if you want, salt and pepper.

Combine all the above, top with breadcrumbs and more cheese and bake in oven for 30-40 mins at 180. Is really yummy comfort food.
