muse I've already said YAY in the Palais, but dammit, I'll say it again. YAY for scan. Even if Bob was playing hard to get.

gin good luck for later. And have a fantabulous holiday.

Pliz to all be enjoying this tray of french stick, soft cheese & pate.

SilverSky · 16/08/2010 13:18

Very kind lozza

Hurrah for the scannage peeps!

boxybox Rosehill is local pour moi! Will wait to hear your times etc...... It's in the diary.

rollerbaby · 16/08/2010 13:37

Brilliant brilliant muse . Mucho hurrah!

Bleedin hell Boxer that is one long travel experience visualisation. What happens if you've only been to Devon a few times? GrinHave deep pillow envy.

okie I suffered a similar fate. Bought pretty spotty blue tankini from John Lewis. Does it hold my waps in whilst swimming? Does it fuck. Wetsuit peut etre?

Winkie is the business. I WISH we had seen her earlier, she was ace. We had about 1 and a half hours of chat and exercises and already he is alot calmer and we are practising homework with walks and recall. Her view is that dogs running around in parks with other dogs is like kids going to a party and we shouldn't be doing it twice a day. apparently this has been making things worse and getting all hyper can actually make them unsafe. To prove her point hairy moo went nuts when we were changing linen in guest bedroom and then jumped out the fucking window!!!!!!! I honestly thought he was a goner. Cried for ages and cuddled him all weekend. God only knows what I'm going to be like with baby Moo.

Hilarious about shoe shopping okie. Sarah Beeny is (partly) responsible for my hubba hubba so she can do no wrong in my eyes.... Is she up the stick again?

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 16/08/2010 13:55

Loving your work muser! Excellent news.
Good luck for later ginster and have an amazing holiday Envy you deserve it.

rollerbaby · 16/08/2010 14:48

What is the norm for your partners' paternity leave? 2 weeks paid/statutory? I think my husbo's firm are being v stingy, but have no point of reference other than where I work (where 2 weeks paid is normal).

Okie also did that broccoli dip on saturday night and magimixed the veg prep a bit too much. The result? A deep dish full of dip that looked remarkably like vomit. I didn't manage to get the slow cooked lamb on the table til 9pm so everyone had to eat it. ha ha ha. Oh well, the fuckers drank TWELVE bottles of our wine so serves them right.

OkieCokie · 16/08/2010 15:16

What you need Moo is a hand chopper and not a fancy smancy magimix! Think Mr C's firm's policy is 1 week paid the 2nd week Statutory but think he wangled 2 weeks paid last time since he had just started and negotiated it.

Backinthebox · 16/08/2010 15:49

OH self employed. No idea what happens there, but he's going to be paying himself anyway - gotta pay the bills!

Moo visualize wherever you want. My second choice of head-place is on my horse in a damp and green forest early in the morning, noone else around. With a hipflask. You've got to have all of the senses covered, and be very familiar with whatever you are visualizing. And work on getting your muscles to go limp.

For anyone who wants to be jealous I has put piccies of Kipepeo over on FB. Please be nice and remember I have never been to Maldives like everyone else has. OTOH, I was getting paid to go to Dar Hmm Grin

ginhag · 16/08/2010 15:58

Oi box don't be mean about derren,he's actually a really nice bloke.

Had bloods done, going back for scan shortly.

Yayayayyay muse :)

rollerbaby · 16/08/2010 16:17

Well that's not too bad on pat leave then methinks. They are offering a week paid, and he's got 9 days on top of that. Do you think take 2 weeks at front end and then 4 perhaps in December? Or other way around? I can't believe it but I have said yes (at different times in last few months) to Mr Moo going to 3 gigs. Turns out they are all in the first week of Dec. The National, The Arcade Fire and something else. Really Envy. Oh well. Start as we mean to go on no doubt.

My magimix normally does not let me down. Twas quite funny to serve green sick as a starter. Luckily I wasn't trying to impress anyone.

Box I am a bit worried about this visualisation lark. When I try and think of somewhere I can smell I think of the pub or my dog. Oh well our first hippobirthing session is a one to one due to our hollibobs, so hopefully she can give me a bit of a steer. My life just isn't that sensory!!!!

rollerbaby · 16/08/2010 16:18

I used to quite fancy Derren Brown.

Cosmosis · 16/08/2010 16:59

TGO is doing a week, then going back to work 2 days the week after, then 3 days the week after that - we figure it will be a nicer ease in to it than 2 full weeks off and slap bang back to work full time.

OP posts:
OkieCokie · 16/08/2010 17:13

I enjoyed having Mr C around for the 2 weeks, my mum came down for a week once he went back to work then I had a couple of weeks on my own then he was off again for Christmas. Some companies make you take the paternity leave all in one chunk but I guess if he is thinking of using holidays then it is a bit different.

To be honest, it kind of helped having him go back to work after the 2 weeks were up as we were better able to get into some kind of routine! Not that you can have a routine that early on but I was just left to my own devices and worked out what worked for me. However, I did long for the door to open and for him to come home form work in the evenings. Maybe if he is having to use holidays rather than the miserly Statutory he could do with TGO is doing too.

I think I am waffling...

rollerbaby · 16/08/2010 17:29

No this is really helpful. It's hard to know what is going to be best. Realistically though, his going to work actually means going up to the 3rd floor of our house and shutting the door. Luckily for him, he has super dooper headphones so he can't hear my or mini moo's cries!!! I've told him he's in charge of the dog during the day. Obviously it's fab having him in the house, i.e. can help at lunchtime etc, but in some ways does blur the boundaries a bit as he does have to focus and get on... And I'll pop up for a whinge/nag every 5 minutes!!!

Muser · 16/08/2010 17:40

Bugger bugger bugger. Had another scan buddy today and things did not go as well for her. I am gutted at the complete unfairness of it all. Bastard bastard bastard.

rollerbaby · 16/08/2010 18:57

That's horrible. Makes you feel so lucky... You don't appreciate how precious and delicate life is until you start all this. Sad

CluckyKate · 16/08/2010 19:17

Mr Hen missed out on pat leave last time - the crappy, meanie co. he works for said he hadn't been there long enough to qualify. They also wouldn't allow him to take paid time off for the birth as I wasn't a dependant so he ended up taking it as holiday instead Angry Angry. Was all for giving his stupid boss a piece of my mind but Dh wouldn't allow it.

Muse - so sorry to hear sad news about your friend. Life can be a fucking bitch Sad

SkiHorseWonAWean · 16/08/2010 19:43

Jailbait only works mornings so I went in to hospital on the Tuesday and he worked Weds morning (too late to cancel). He then went back to work the following Weds/Thurs (?) and actually it was really nice that I was able to get used to being a mummy but he was only out of the house for 5 hours. But then I had the nurses coming in at 8:30am so I was only actually on my own properly for 3 hours.

okie Freya do maternity and swimwear so I'd hope they'd do a combination of the two.

Medee · 16/08/2010 20:06

I'm really pleased to read about your good scan, Muse but sorry to hear about your friend.

honey 2 weeks statutory for mine.

Medee · 16/08/2010 20:09

Ginnie did your scan go OK? Not seen you post since you headed off for it.

Headbanger · 16/08/2010 20:33

...checking in to see if Gin has updated. Muse, am so sorry about your pal.

SilverSky · 16/08/2010 21:02

music thinking of your chum. It's the pits and so hard to know what to say or what not to say.

ginniegingin you there?

Turns out that baybee no longer likes raisins. Within 5 mins of scoffing a handful the raisins managed to kick start a swift exit southbound. Anyone else having odd bathroom manoeuvres since being diffed? TMI? Tough! I gotta ask someone!!

Went to preggo yoga. Can't believe I farted. The shame. So embarrasing. If anyone heard it they ignored it. It appears I am totally stiff and tight and my next career move will not be into fitness. Oh and I was the only eejit in socks cos my toenails need painting as they are sporting the chavtastic chipped hot pink look. I need to sort my life OUT! Won't someone think of my baby???

ginhag · 16/08/2010 21:02

Sorry lovelies haven't had a chance to update. All good, very happy...

muse really sorry about your mate. Is truly shit.

Medee · 16/08/2010 21:07

phew, good news gin

silver I bet the fellow yogaers would have paid as much attention to your fart as to chipped nail polish - ie none.

Headbanger · 16/08/2010 21:12

Good news Ginster!

SilverSky · 16/08/2010 21:14

medee being as I was the new girl who knows !!! everyone else had good toe care going on. I let the side down fo' sho'.

A midwife took the class and I learnt loads of stuff. Him Indoors is being signed up to a couples active birthing class. That should shit the poor fella up a bit!!
