ei23mummy · 29/08/2005 14:55

you could always sell one of your older buggies to make up some of the cash for the new one... your dh cant complain then an you get a new one in the process!
nemo what date are you due? we could end up in the next room to eachother... how weird would that be?!!!! you prob wouldnt know it was me tho an the other way round!

Nemo1977 · 29/08/2005 15:00

ei due 16th but hospital say 21st despite baby measuring for 16th??????? lol last time due to problems with bleeding i was put on a ward so am hoping to avoid that and either go home or be in a room..lol

scully · 29/08/2005 15:36

Well have had an exciting Sunday and Monday weeding the front and back gardens, with dd's help....
dh cooked steak sandwiches on the bbq for lunch, followed by a bowl of ice cream, so now feeling rather full. dd has justed emptied 100 of those little coloured balls all over the spare room floor next to me, whilst I'm on the computer. Good thing I'm too tired to really care

expatinscotland · 29/08/2005 15:43

this baby is SO high up! kept me up all night booting away. due date still 18th but midwife and GP think earlier.

here's hoping.

haven't decided on buggy but Mom & Dad have offered to buy a Phil & Ted double and bring it w/them when they come to spend Xmas here.

think we'll have to say 'yes' to that.

Nemo1977 · 29/08/2005 15:45

aww expat of course you should say yes as it will be a necessity like me and my marco sky that dhs parents paid for...i feel awful them paying but also know without it i wont be getting out the house with a then 2.2 yr old and a newborn

ei23mummy · 29/08/2005 20:48

nemo, im due the followin week so you never know!!
expat, thats so generous of your mum n dad, mine havnt even offered to buy clothes yet. im keepin my fingers crossed tho- we havnt decided on the furniture for the bubs room so im droppin hints like mad- it can be so expensive!! the changing table that i saw to match the cot is £345.00!!!! scandalous!

expatinscotland · 29/08/2005 22:30

This is a second baby. They are VERY generous and send over loads of clothes for DD.

We'd been wanting the Phil & Ted, but I never mentioned it to them. One of my sister's pals did and Mum and Dad, having had kids 38 and 34 years ago, don't know much about buggies. So they were like, 'Oh, that looks good. Want one for the baby's Christmas?'

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2005 06:56

morning all

bless expat its lovely when they offer isnt it. DHs parents had been asking what we were going to do about a pram and I said that I had seen one but would have to wait, so they said dont wait heres the money. They are also buying the new bedroom furniture for ds room and paying for a plasterer. Its really overwhelming that they are sooo nice, and also fortunate that dh is an only child..lol

ei23 you never know we may be in at the same time as ds was 15days late, although am hoping to beg and be induced earlier..or at least on due date..lol

bonkerz have already told you GET THE PRAM AND GET DH TO PAY FOR IT.....lol what with all the stuff he bought himself last month

hope everyone else is ok

SH hope you had a nice weekend in blackpool.

whoops a bit over eager.....o and as you can tell ds was up early again this morning but mainly due to me messing his routine up yesterday.

bonkerz · 30/08/2005 09:08

Morning all, lets hope we are more active on here today than we have been!
SHORT WEEK HOORAY!!!!
Have childminder friend and her mindees coming over today so aim to play in garden all day!
DS back at school tomorrow!!! Cant wait!!!
Have done TP measurement and have gone up a whole 3/4 sheet in a week but gained no weight so must mean ive lost weight again!
Appetite hasnt been too good again, yesterday all i ate all day was a bacon roll, 2 nectarines, a banana and some pringles!! Not so good really! Did have 2 pints of milk and 4 pints of water tho!!
Am having real trouble with Acid throat. Have tried gaviscon but it really isnt helping. When its really bad in afternoon i want to be sick!!
8 Working weeks till i finish! COUNTDOWN!!!
Have decided that i will put the cars through the MOT then treat myself to the zooper. Sod the expense!!!! Could buy second hand but really want new and by the time ive paid postage from ebay i could add £30 and get new so thats what im gonna do. Anyone wanna buy a 3 wheeler?????

Thomcat · 30/08/2005 09:26

Morning girls. Think I'm going to stay off work today. Think I overdid it at the weekend, feel a bit rubbish and have horrid thrush. Lottie is at her nanas so house to myself. Lots to do at work but.......could really do with just being here, on my own.
We went to Carnival over the weekend, amongst other things, and Lottie only wanted to be held by me, would go to others for short breaks but then just wanted me. She was dancing in my arms and loving it but it was hard work, physically. Then went to a party last night from 6 until 11 but the drive home took over an hour due to Carnival traffic. Think I should start behaving more like a pregnant person soon!
Did loads round the house yesterday as well though. Went to Habitat, bought a really nice print, hung loads of pictures, things we've been meaning to do for a while.
Hmmm, back to bed soon. Bought ever single Sunday newspaper yesterday and think that's a job to be done in bed.
Just got to tell work first, feel really bad as not exactly sick but... just worn out, thrush, blocked nose, headache, and tired, tired, tired. Lottie up at 6am every day this weekend and a 4 o'clock awakening one morning as well.
Justify, justify, justify.

I want to be on here catching up and gossiping - unfortunatly I am having a really busy day. End company year and month end after a bank holiday weekend [I need an frazzled face]

Anyway, hope everyone is well, speak to you soon - hopefully!!!!!

scully · 30/08/2005 10:52

lucky you thomcat, enjoy your day off. i could have done with doing that as well, but after a week's holiday, it may have looked a bit cheeky..... still blocked up with a cold after 2 wks and feeling very overwhelmed by everything we need to do around the house in the next 15wks
actually more like in the next 11 wks as I don't want stuff still to do a month before edd, would like some time to relax this pregnancy! dh has no sense of urgency about him though, wish he could have some of my hormones, that would hurry things up

george32 · 30/08/2005 11:05

Hey everyone.
Hope everyone is OK, not had chance to catch up yet as we only got back yesterday (we sneaked a couple of extra days in as the weather was so nice). Had a great time but glad to be back in my own bed again.

Got a call at 2.00am this morning from my best friend to say she was holding her new born girl in her arms (born at 1.20am)- fantastic news so going to zip up & see them all today.

I've measured quickly & I'm still 8 TP so no movement there even with stacks of fudge eaten.

I will catch up properly when I can but thanks for the Happy Birthday messages (urgh, 33 now!!!!)

scully · 30/08/2005 11:41

How lovely, does your friend's baby have a name yet? Friends of ours had a baby boy at 3.40am this morning - she's coming home from hospital about now!
I see a consultant tomorrow, to discuss birth options - interested to hear the hospital's opinions on vbacs etc.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 14:58

Must pick up some almonds. Woke at 4.45 with AWFUL heartburn and baby kicking away.

scully · 30/08/2005 15:14

not suffering from heartburn so much but was woken up at around 3am need to wee and then stuggled to go back to sleep as dd has come into our room and dh had given and put her between us. didn't know 3yr olds could grind their teeth

george32 · 30/08/2005 15:33

My friend has come home from the hospital already (I didn't realise they booted you out so quickly!) so I'm going to leave the visiting til later in the week when they are a bit more sorted. She has called the baby Millie.

I've been doing the heartburn thing too. Made me sick a couple of nights ago & I'm sure it was pure acid. Gaviscon is working for me at the moment & someone I work with mentioned drinking pineapple juice helps so I am guzzling that too.

Jaysfirst · 30/08/2005 15:43

hiya

havnt been here for a while, thought it about time to pop back, seeing as though time is flying by so quickly! havent been having too much heartburn, but when i do, boy is it sore, will try the almonds, love them so its not a chore!
Just measured myself....9.5! my goodness last time i was here was only 6 i think....woweeeeee
My due date is new years eve, anyone else around then?
