Nemo1977 · 31/08/2005 16:20

well ladies i have been brave and put my doppler up for sale. I dont use it much anymore due to being kicked all the time but still feel scared about selling it..lol

ei23mummy · 31/08/2005 16:29

how much are you sellin it for nemo? i was biddin on one last week on ebay but i was outbid!! my mum has been buggin me cos she aint heard the bubs h/b yet and really wants to!
carryin on with the heartbeat thing i heard that if the h/b is under 140bpm its a boy an if its over its a girl! i had a look at what my m/w wrote in my notes and shed put 136-145bpm!
how annoyin is that? doesnt lend anythin to the O.W.T!!

Nemo1977 · 31/08/2005 16:32

ei have put it on the for sale board for £60 but think it may already be taken.2 people interested

expatinscotland · 31/08/2005 16:33

Hope you get lots for it, Nemo!!!

sweetheart · 31/08/2005 16:33

ei 136 is probably the resting heartbeat and the 145 is probably after a movment.

I think for the heartbeat test you are supposed to use the resting heartrate I.e. 136!!!

Nemo1977 · 31/08/2005 16:37

thanks expat...the money from that alone will buy next weeks food shop...lol

ei23mummy · 31/08/2005 17:02

Haven't been at work today so will check for my stork email tomorrow. Went to a reflexologist this morning, for the 1st time. So wonderful to relax for 1.5hrs of 'me' time, & hopefully I'll get some benefit from it as well. Just from the relaxation side of things it was worth it
Also met with consultant at hospital today - heard the heartbeat again and everything is going well. He said at this stage there's no reason I can't attempt a trial labour, but I will have a scan and another appt with him at 36wks to make the final decision, depending on the position & size of the baby. Answered all my questions too, some without me need to ask them so feel like I've had a good day
Mind you, any day I'm not at work lately is good - so over it all now

dramaqueen72 · 31/08/2005 18:01

evening ladies the heartbeat boy/girl thing just doesnt work. trust me, it will rock up and down and still leave you none the wiser!
midwife appointment nice and straight forward. VERY wriggly baby when midwife tried to listen in, and me laughing didnt help much either. I now dont see her til oct!
scully sounds like a nice 'you' time at reflexologist,-good for you! I have the details of a lady who does pg massage, and makes special personalised oils for labour........and then afterwards she takes classes of up to six babys and mums for baby massage. sounds lovely to me! might book her for later in sept, as its my birthday then. my midwife couldnt reccommend her enough.

scully · 31/08/2005 18:18

dq that sounds fab, I would be doing that! What area are you in? Yes, I feel great after having a day off, she says only having got back from a week's holiday
Think I've decided 25/11 will be my last day at work, 3wks before my edd. I was going to make it 18/11, but I now have appts on 23 & 24/11 so may as well take it out of work time, as my replacement will have started anyway! Cheeky, but an extra wk's pay will count later

ebbie22 · 31/08/2005 18:36

Wow you have all been really busy chatting today havent you....gd to hear your back on form...Hope everyone one is well xx

dramaqueen72 · 31/08/2005 19:35

scully I am in hampshire, southampton area. dh is keen for me to feel pampered and so I think I will book her more than once. well us pg ladies have got to make the most of it!! shes fantastically priced too, -meaning I can afford her without guilt trip!
anyone got any top tips on how to find out where any antenatal 'things' are going on? like yoga? or something, anything, where I can mix with pg ladies? my midwifes not very helpful with this. maybe we should all get together

dramaqueen72 · 31/08/2005 19:36

hey ebbie, how are you? did you get your secret stork mail okay?

sweetheart · 01/09/2005 09:36

Scully - sounds like you had a fantastic day off - you lucky thing.

DQ your lady sounds like bliss. I've booked myslef in for a hair cut and colour and am using left over b'day vouchers to have my eyelashes tinted and permed so hopefully I should be feeling pretty pampered too.

DQ - I noticed from the addresses you sent me that some of us are quite close together. I can't remember if it was Ninah or Nemo or both that I was talking to about the possibility of a meet up. The ladies that were on the Due in June thread this year often have meet ups.

yep, understand the stressed about money bit, just waiting for dh's new job to be sorted than things will improve.....
sending off form to HR today with 25/11 as my last day, and with today being 1/9 it's not that far away

dramaqueen72 · 01/09/2005 10:22

happy september everyone just that little bit closer to december babies!, its fabulous to have come so far. and also sept is my birthday month, and I get ridiculously excited about that too!

sweetheart, yes some of us are kinda near each other.....we seem to be in groups of two or three across the country. not sure if we are close enough to meet up in a bigger group.....depends on travelling I guess. would be lovely tho.
got really fed up with dh last night, he is going to buy a new guitar, at over £400. funny I thought we were on a tight budget, and heres me saving all my money-and I dont work remember- for baby and nursery items.......hmmmmmm, how do men do this? they honestly live in a whole different world I think. I told him he can buy it if I get the same amount for baby things. this has stopped him in his tracks somewhat. suspect he WILL buy it, but he'll have to do something AMAZING to pacify me. grrrrrrrrr.

scully · 01/09/2005 15:49

that's a bit rich dq, but yes they are on another planet sometimes.......

george32 · 01/09/2005 16:15

Hey chatty ladies
I'm back from visiting my bf new baby & I'm now so excited. I want one now!
She is so beautiful and teeny tiny, it really has brought home to me what is growing inside me - how gushing am I!!!

Nearly knocked out of my mood when I saw the state of the house though. Why is it that men do NOTHING???? Grrrrrrrr about men from me too.

Scully, very of your trip to the reflexologist. DQ your massage lady sounds lovely. I think I need to find something round here as I'm getting too jealous.

dramaqueen72 · 01/09/2005 16:25

love the grr-ing about men here. makes me chuckle. I really do love mine and hes very supportive, but he really is abit strange about spending. somedays hes all 'lets buy you something' and others -most- hes very tight. thing is I never know when a wave of spending is coming along!
george my massage lady sounds heavenly, now just need to stop talking about it and actually book it!!!LOL

dramaqueen72 · 01/09/2005 16:26

oh and of your tiny baby vist george. I havent held a newborn for AGES. I would love to, too. anyone know of one I can borrow for justa few minutes?!
