sweetheart · 09/09/2005 13:43

Afternoon!!!!

The lady who is covering my maternity leave came in today to discuss all her terms and conditions. She's starting on the 24th October which is only 6 weeks away!!!!

How is everyone feeling today? I am feeling pretty good. Hair is done (not quite how I wanted but still looks nice), I'm going out to the pub tonight and fully intend on having a couple of drinks AND the Osteopath appt really seems to have helped with my Siatica pain

Just hoping I get to finish early today now and that would really put a spring in my step!!!!

scully · 09/09/2005 13:49

The pub tonight, how nice sh, I am envious
Think I shall also be having a wine spritzer tonight, as the rest of my house will be merrily drinking away.....
Hope my secret stork doesn't mind but I need to wait until I'm paid (22/9) before I can buy their gift. Will also need that long to think of something nice to buy!
26wks tomorrow, & apparently baby is approx 35cm long and weighs 0.7kg/1lb 8oz & has opened it's eyelids!

sweetheart · 09/09/2005 14:01

pub has just been cancelled.

Oh well - sofa and TV it is then - AGAIN!!!

Nemo1977 · 09/09/2005 14:08

hello again...
im 26wks today scully going frighteningly quick. I have just held a 8wk old baby at toddlers and started to panic...I just dont remember ds being that helpless and hes not even 2 yet She was gorgeous though but had to give her back to her mum cos I felt like crying as lol
Not a lot going on now just had lunch and ds is watching teletubbies...prob go to bed for a sleep with him at 3pm. Went looking for secret stork pressie before but couldnt find anything I liked. I have bought one little bit of it but nothing major..so prob go for another hunt tommorow.

Nemo1977 · 09/09/2005 14:12

also just had letter for my appointment with the physio so am seeing her on the 19th of this month...woo hoo lets hope she has a miracle cure.

sweetheart · 09/09/2005 14:19

Nemo - I know that feeling. I was reading the hospital bag thread this morning and I got really frightened!!!

Can't believe I'm gonna have to give birth soon!!!!!

scully · 09/09/2005 14:30

got a letter last night about antenatal classes, might go to a couple as had caesarian last time so don't remember much of the giving birth from the last classes

dramaqueen72 · 09/09/2005 14:43

LOL ladies s/h have been eyeing up v attractive holdall in M&S as potential hospital bag (dramaqueen-never knowingly under shopped....)
scully am prob posting my storky gift in the the next 2wks..... theres no rush.
i have my next scan in about six weeks. infact the wednesday after the baby show. I went to one YEARS ago, when ds was small and loved it, lots of 'in show bargains' (buy this now and get this free kinda thing) so am telling dh we should go this time.
must see if we dec mums can all say hello to each other if we do go. one meet up is never enough! LOL

Nemo1977 · 09/09/2005 14:45

arghhhhh dont start talking about hospital bags...lol I havent even thought about it and im sure with ds i was prob ready by now..lol

expatinscotland · 09/09/2005 14:47

I'm hoping not to have to stay in hospital for this one, but come home right from the delivery suite.

Hospitals = yuk. Noisy, unclean, lousy food, no help nearby.

I want to be at home w/my mum nearby to help out and some decent food and my own shower.

dramaqueen72 · 09/09/2005 14:47

yep, always pack them earlier...with each baby so whats going to be in yours?

george32 · 09/09/2005 14:48

I've had my NCT ones through & there are loads of them. No idea what they teach us and they don't finish til 10.00pm at night - I'll be dropping off!!
Thought they might be a good way to meet some people round here as most of my family & friends are miles away.

Is everyone else drinking a bit now then? Think I'd fall over with a glass of wine now.

Glad you have your physio appointment though Nemo. I hope it does some good. I'm pleased that yours seems to have worked SH.

SH, I love sofa & telly at the moment esp when I have a box of choccies by my side

dramaqueen72 · 09/09/2005 14:49

almost ditto you expat, hoping for one night stay and thats all. came home alittle tooooo early with dd1 and collapsed

george32 · 09/09/2005 14:49

Whoops, missed all the new messages, I mean my NCT ante-natal, not hospital bags

dramaqueen72 · 09/09/2005 14:50

same here george, few sips of wine and I'm hopeless........it tastes so strong after having given it up for ages! arent I the lightweight!

expatinscotland · 09/09/2005 15:03

My mamma will be here for the birth of this one, so I deffo don't want to stay in hospital. NO WAY! Not when I can have my nice, clean Mamma at home to help out. There's nothing she loves more than an 'itty bitty baby' as she says. And Daddy will be there, too, to spoil DD rotten.

sweetheart · 09/09/2005 15:52

yeah - I'm going home

Have a BRILLIANT weekend all!!!

scully · 09/09/2005 16:07

hospital bag, so haven't got that far yet. this baby's clothes are still sitting in bags in the loft, the cot and moses basket are still being borrowed by friends etc etc. October is my month for getting organised, she says optimistically......
That's why I like spritzers, still a taste of wine but heavily watered down so I don't pass out after one
I'm off soon too, have a nice weekend everyone

Nemo1977 · 09/09/2005 17:02

scull like you i am unorganised, our crib was loaned out and I havent been in contact with the person so am just hoping they still have it...lol We have the clothes down from loft but they need a good wash and sort out as I have no idea what there is..lol

Thomcat · 09/09/2005 20:17

So how you all doing? We're well over halfway now. I'm getting a bit breathless, baby must be quite high up??? I don't remember feeling breathless at this stage last time. It's so muggy tonight that's not helping. I'm supposed to be going out to a club tomorrow, D is DJing and it's his birthday soon as well so kind of feel I should.

OP posts:
floops · 09/09/2005 21:43

All out stuff is lent out or in the loft. I have been quite relaxed about it thinking I'll get it down in November. But I suppose I should get organised.
Finally started asking a couple of friends if they will be on call for us to look after the first two cherubs.
Only 9 more weeks left at work! I got really frustrated with myself this evening. I got breathless just trying to tidy up the house pre weekend. Just hard when you are not used to sitting down much.
I'm off to bed to read up on week 25 and bond with Baby.
Hope you all have a good weekend!
