Enthusia - You have been busy!!! Do feel free to come over for the day, I could do with a shove in the right direction. Yup, am definitely a list person! Was moreso at work but there you go. As far as baby list goes though.....still blank - you are really putting me to shame!

BoB - Just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. We had a weekend similar a few weeks ago where we planted the TV at the bottom of the bed, rented 'Hitched' & 'Alexander', had a massive packet of popcorn, chocolate, tortilla chips etc..and stayed like that for hours. It was blissful (I did fall asleep a few times though).

I'm finding sleeping to be a real problem at the moment and i'm being v.serious. I just can't get comfy, I feel like i've got a bag of lead in my tummy and what the heck is that pain that i get in my right buttock!!! Is that the lower back???

Nova - put your paintbrush down girl!!!! You and Enthusia need to STOP!!!!!!

novadandypowder · 27/08/2005 10:06

Chacha, pain in right buttock I think would be sciatica (sp?).

My nipples are really sore at the moment, the rest of my boobs are fine, but sometimes I can just be standing there and I get a really intense soreness in the ole nip nops. Me no like.

Other than that, nothing much to report, off to work with some homeless doggies this afternoon.

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 14:14

i guess I can join in on this thread as I'm due in November

waves

CADS · 27/08/2005 15:24

Hi Pinkminx

Welcome on board. It is pretty quite on here today. Have a look on the 'Nov 2005 Members List' (sorry can't do links) on the antenatal board to found out more about us.

Have you spoken to your mw about antenatal classes. She might be able to get you on some last minute or try the NCT, but they usually get booked up really quickly.

29 weeks

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 16:20

Hi Cads! Thanks. To be honest, I don't even know who my official MW is!! I saw someone at hosp, she said to go to my docs for my next few appointments. I called the surgery to get an app with a midwife, but i had to see the doc instead, so she has seen me the last 2 times. I feel nervous that things seem to be so disorganised, I don't know what to do or expect as this is my first time (its only the antenatal that is my fault LOL)My Doc doesn't seem to have a clue either, she does the checks and thats it i'm on my way, She said at my last app it may be too soon to hear babys heart...at 24weeks ????? Is she for serious? I've been hearing babys heart for weeks!! She didn't test my urine sample till my 28weeks.
I don't know, doesn't make me confident really!!

ChaCha · 27/08/2005 16:30

Afternoon girls,
For once haven't much to say and there is no waffle on offer....
Having a very lazy weekend and still on emotional rollercoaster.

Welcome to the November thread pinkminx

Chacha 27 weeks today!

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 16:43

Hi ChaCha thanks for the welcome!

I'm trying to have a lazy day, it is wierd, I'm restless, see things that need to be done, want to do them, then end up sitting on my butt some more LOL, I'm having issues with housework, my Mum is coming down to visit us next week, we moved into our flat 3months ago and there is still lots to do plus regular housework. Sheesh!!

Anyway, enjoy your day, have some YOU time, it''ll make you feel better (and junk food LOL)

Chrissie

CADS · 27/08/2005 16:57

Pinkminx - Your antenatal care sounds a bit of a nightmare. Do you have a midwife at your GP surgery? My is based at my surgery and is in charge of all my care. She won't necessarily be the midwife on duty during the birth though. She asked me if I wanted antenatal classes at the booking appt (12weeks) and then organises everything and know she has managed to get people in at the last minute. She did the same with my last pregancy too. I just get the times and dates in the post. Try speaking to the head midwife at the hosiptal if your don't have a surgery based mw. In my opinion the GPs don't really know anything about antenatal care because everytime I ask my gp anything she doesn't have a clue. Good luck.

Also, mw tests my urine and listens to the heartbeat at every appt.

CADS · 27/08/2005 16:59

Oh, trying posting on the childbirth/pregnancy boards about the antenatal classes. There are a few midwives that post that might have other suggestions.

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 17:09

Thanks! I'll look around. Its all a bit too much to deal with alone isn't it, and until i found this board I felt a bit alone. I'll try and get an appointment with my mw at the surgery, but they're hard to pin down LOL plus getting time off work is a bit of a pain as i'm temping. I feel annoyed with myself, I'm 30weeks preg and feel its too late to get organised.
Grrrrrr

Enthusia · 27/08/2005 17:54

Hiya Pinkmix

Vent as much as you like on here, we all do. We get very busy during the week, so you won't be alone then.

This is Nova, ChaCha and myself's first baby, there are a few other first timers here as well as well as plenty of experience so you are in good hands!!!

MW sounds like a nightmare, where are you?

29+1

Enthusia · 27/08/2005 17:56

Pinkminx - sorry not 'pick mix' - sweets on the brain

By the Way, do you know what you are having?

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 18:02

HIYA!! thanks

We're 70%sure its a girl. I guess thats why I have a sweet tooth too! (Just adding to the sugar and spice)
I'm in Twickenham, but my Doc/Hospital are in Kingston Upon Thames.
How about you, know the sex? where abouts are you?

xx

novadandypowder · 27/08/2005 18:34

Hi PinkMinx, wasn't expecting to get another newbie on the thread at this stage, so welcome

I can't be that much help with antenatal care as I'm having mine private, but it sounds to me like you should be getting looked after a bit better than you are?? Ooops don't mean to panic you, as Enthusia said, it's my first too so have no idea what should be expected. Should def. be able to hear the heartbeat at 28wks though!!!!!!

If we can be of any assistance, we'll be pleased to help. Here is the nov. members list, should give you an idea of what we're all about.

novadandypowder · 27/08/2005 18:39

Oh Enthusia, you've got me thinking about pick n mix now.

I've spent the afternoon playing with 8 four wk old puppies and their mum. The official term is 'socialising' them, but it doesn't feel like i'm working when all i have to do is sit on my bum and let puppies sleep on my lap . I'll be getting my hands dirty tomorrow though.

BoB, we switched off Lost, it's badly written and acted. Thats why we like the other shows so much - gritty realism. And come on, you have to find yourself fancying Michael Chiklis just a little bit

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 18:40

thanks! I guess i joined now as i was panicking, should have got myself organised earlier! i've heard the heart loads of times, it was just my Doc being a bit crap LOL.

xx

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 18:42

oh and Michael Chiklis...in a Grant Mitchell meets Bruce Willis kinda way hehe

novadandypowder · 27/08/2005 18:49

pinkminx - if finances aren't too tight and you don't mind travelling to central london, then the Portland run antenatal classes. You can do evenings/days/or a weekend crash course (6 hours on a saturday). They should be able to squeeze you in if you're worried and can't find an NCT class. It costs about £300 for the 6 wk evening course, not sure what the charges are for the other ones though.

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 18:56

nah finance are really tight, one reason i've been so stressed and scatty! But thanks for the tip! I might see if theres something cheaper and more local

xx

KristinaM · 27/08/2005 19:31

welcome pinkminx (great name BTW)

You should be able to get antenatal classes at your local hospital and they are free on the NHS.I went first time around and they were...well...an experience! You def want to get if you can. I know you get paid time off work to go if you are in a permenant job but not sure about temping. Someone on Mumsnet will know though, if you post a question anout it on the right thread. My Dh calls it "the fount of all knowledge" ( I know he's being facetious ( sp??) but its true!!!)

Kristina 27+??
One DD and one DS already

pinkminx79 · 27/08/2005 19:39

i'm going to try and get it all sorted very soon, i got a week off week after next I'm just gonna get stuck in! Thanks for the advice hun.
btw what does DD and DS mean? I'm blonde LOL

xx

ChaCha · 27/08/2005 19:52

LOL. Dear Daughter and Dear Son. DH or DP is Dear Husband or Dear Partner.

You're still at work Pink? Ohhhhh...how do you do it? I've had such a crapolla few days the thought of getting dressed makes me ill...
I'm such a whinge bag today, tell me to be quiet....

KristinaM · 27/08/2005 19:54

Sorry - they mean I have one son and one daughter already. There is an acronym list at the top of the page - see the letterbox add - its above and to the right.

That reminds me...must get my highlights done this week

I should say that i leanred about a million times more from mumsnet than i ever did at antenatal classes...
