I can still reach my legs, but i get my lady garden waxed by a professional now, as I can no longer see it, and wouldn't trust DH near it with a razor!

Twinkle, i think my local pool starts aqua natal now that schools have gone back, so i'm definitly going to investigate. At the moment I walk a lot but i'm guessing thats going to become quite uncomfortable soon.

Got woken up by what i think might have been braxton hicks in the night, almost had to get out of bed.

Anyone else feeling a bit tender around whats left of their belly button?

novadandypowder · 02/09/2005 10:19

chacha, glad to hear you had what sounds like a restful and pleasant birthday .

I'm very aware that i'm really windy in bed , but DH is polite enough not to mention it.

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 10:34

yeah me now!! She was squirming (spl?) so much yesterday i felt quite ill! Plus everytime i tried to get comfy in bed she'd stick a foot in my rib
ouch!

xx

Enthusia · 02/09/2005 11:13

ChaCha - Glad you had a good b-day. I was worried about my b-day and christmas as they come just after the baby's born, so wondered whether I'd get loads of baby things. Mum and Dad have decided to pay for us to go out to them at chrissie though, so I get an all expenses paid week, sound like bliss!!!!

DH has also tried to shave my legs - he was sooooo gentle, lol, I usually just whip up and down in 5 mins, he took ages making sure it was all smooth an didn't hurt - it was so sweet. Haven't asked him to tackle lady garden yet though. Although have asked him about the perineal massage as I tried yesterday and found it nearly impossible. Maybe I'm doing it wrong!

Would love to do aquanatal classes, but can't find anything in my area. Will start swimming when kids are back though. Didn't fancy going when they were off as think I will feel quite delicate in just a cossie in a pool with loads of running and screaming teenagers.

Twinkle - hope you are looking after yourself.

Has anyone heard from Firstbaby or Jenjam - they haven't been on for ages!!!!

ChaCha - Have a great scan - hope it is really clear and cute!!!!

30 today ---- hoorayyyyyyyyyyyy

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 11:22

I've heard about the massage, might ask Dp, he may run screaming LOL.

and

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

XXXX

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 11:22

or was that weeks?

::bangs head::

duh

ChaCha · 02/09/2005 11:53

LOL Think Enthusia was referring to her being 30 weeks pregnant today!! '30' seems to be the number right now.

Enthusia - Lucky you! How are you planning to travel over with baby? Will it be by car? How thoughtful of your parents, it will most definitely be a well deserved break for you both, whoops..for you three!! Am hoping to fly over to my dad's end of March/April when it's not yet too hot, I'm looking fwd to that already.

My friend swears by perineal massage. Her DH did it everyday for her since she was about 7 months i think. We will be doing the same. I just read a bit about it but won't be doing it myself, for those of you who are interested you might find this link useful, am sure there are plenty others. massage

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 11:57

LOL!!!

COOL

yay! I'm 30 too then!!

xxxxx

bubbles2904 · 02/09/2005 12:02

pinkminx, will post this here instead of trespassing on the august thread again. just wanted to say thank you for the good luck message. what date are you due?

Enthusia · 02/09/2005 12:12

PinkMinx, LOL No I'm not at the big 30, have a few more years yet, but thanks for the thought!!!!!!!!

ChaCha - Great link, best one I have seen for the massage, the others are a little vague, or too complicated!!!!

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 12:51

Nov 11th

i looked at the massage site, must try that later!

xx

ChaCha · 02/09/2005 13:00

I will either end up crashing out as soon as i lie down for scan or on the drive down to London (don't panic, not me who is driving). I am exhausted! Have DH's family arriving at about 6 so want everything to look in order before they get here as we will not yet be back by then but I'm just so tired. We are only 2 people yet there seems to be so many chores including piles of washing to get through...what will i do when there are 3!! My problem is wanting everything perfect right down to how the cushions are arranged - sad isn't it? I end up stressing then. Poooooooooooh
They do say that this will all change soon. Perhaps my days of fussing over the cushion arrangements and making sure that everything is symmetrical are over!

Enthusia · 02/09/2005 13:05

ChaCha - I am identical - DH has even likened me to Monica from Friends - we have a lot of similar traits - scary!!!!!

ChaCha · 02/09/2005 13:12

LOL
Why can't it suffice just to have a clean house? Why does the rug have to be perfectly centred with the bookcase? And the books all placed neatly (arranged by shape/size) as if they are never read..Our bathroom shelving is a joke - the toiletries have been arranged by brand! Do you remember that scene from Sleeping with the Enemy with the tins in the cupboard?
Crikey - I'm doing my own head in today.

twinkle1 · 02/09/2005 13:13

chacha,
not to scare you but soon you will think you are doing well to be dressed by lunch time and you will forget you even have cushions!!!!
I used to be like you i remember taking 5 mins so the curtains looked "right" after they were opened.Ahhh well, not saying that i now live in a pit but providing i can see the carpet we are doing well.
twinkle

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 13:15

I'm still waiting for all that LOL

i just can't be arsed some days

xx

novadandypowder · 02/09/2005 13:29

Add me to the Monica's. All the things in the bathroom have to be organised by what they do (shampoos together/shower gels/shaving etc), if DH has moved the cushions on the sofa I have to put them right before I go to bed, and ditto with rugs, cupboards etc.. The only place I steer clear of is DH's study as thats his domain and usually messy. DH is awful - if I clear a space he's filled it with something in minutes.

Anyone seen my kitten?

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 13:32

I do get quite anal when HE'S messy, but generally i'm still waiting for that urge LOL

xx

novadandypowder · 02/09/2005 13:34

The worst thing is we have a cleaner, and I get really stressed when she doesn't put things back how i've organised them. I end up going around after she's been to sort everything out. She must think I'm a right psycho after some of the notes i've left her

pinkminx79 · 02/09/2005 13:37

funny that, psycho is the nickname i've aquired

JUST WAIT till i really get started LMAO

xx

Enthusia · 02/09/2005 13:38

I am sure being at home all the time does not help with this!! I make sure the house is clean and tidy every morning and that not a thing is out of place. I am hiding behind th excuse that it is becuase we are selling the house. But I really don't think that's it!!!!!

ChaCha · 02/09/2005 14:11

Oh, you girls have me in stitches, LOL

Firstly Twinkle, that's what all my friends with children tell me. You should have seen the look of shock horror on my face when one friend's DD started colouring in on my table (with nothing to lean on) followed by raisins falling onto the rug, consequently being trod on and toys then being transported in tantrum type mode across my lovely wooden floor!!! Friend used to be the same as me, house in immaculate condition, nothing out of place - you should see it now. DD has full monopoly of the entire house! When i pull faces she just laughs at me and says 'your time will come soon' Humph!

Nova - LOL at your leaving cleaner notes. I'm also relieved to know that you all have the same tendencies with cushion arranging etc.. Sometimes feel i am spending too much time at home!

Must go and get ready now. What to wear..what to wear!!!

tessasmum · 02/09/2005 15:52

Happy belated birthday ChaCha. Hope scan is great, would be lovely to see pictures.

Enthusia - found baby-signing absolutely brilliant, having Tessa be able to tell us she was hungry/thirsty etc was really helpful. Plus we got such a clear insight into her world and what was intetesting to her. We will definately be doing it again this time.
As Tex said we certainly didn't have any problems with it delaying her speech, exactly the opposite, she talked early and is much more articulate than most of her contemporaries (though that is my opinion!)

Love the idea of walking into Wagamamas brandishing chocolate though may not be able to get Tessa to eat anything else after that I'll certainly have camera with me so will attempt
to work out how to got photos on here afterwards - never did manage it with wedding photos!

Bit scared of meeting up with all the Monica's now - we will be the ones covered in sticky things both before, during and after the meet-up

novadandypowder · 02/09/2005 15:53

sadly I can't blame it on nesting though - I've been like this since I was a child. At school I had to have my pencil case, ruler and pens all neatly lined up in the top right corner of my desk. Also, whenever I've worked in an office I'm always the one with the really analy tidy work station.

I have moments now when I'm a little more relaxed now, but DH refuses to put away the shopping (he'll only put it in the wrong place), or do the laundry (don't trust the cleaner to do it and DH worried he'll get it 'wrong').

I suppose once a baby's here I'll be forced to chill out a bit, have also been told it'll be an achievement to be washed and dressed by lunchtime.

Enthusia · 02/09/2005 16:36

Tessa - Thanks for the baby signing info from your experiences. I wanted to give it a go but was afraid that I might actually hinder development rather than help it. The kids I were speaking about did come from, how shall we say, a little weird, families.

Nova - I too have always been like this, although it has got worse. When I was at work I wasn't this bad, but now I can't bare anything out of place!!!! I think I might be quite relieved when it all comes to end. Trying to keep everything perfect is impossible anyway!!!!
