Hiya Mel - I went to see my first grandchild this morning. He is 4 months old now - and is delicious - good enough to eat.

My son, Danny's partner - Em has had severe PND but is much better. Lewis is the image of his Uncle Gareth (Dannys twin) and at first it was really difficult for me to be around him. Every time I looked into those massive navy blue eyes I wanted to cry.

We are all getting used to each other and loving each other more every day.

Its a lovely feeling being a grandma xx

mel1981 · 23/09/2008 22:44

I love seeing babies it gets me so broody- if I could get anymore broody! LOL.
A friend of a friend had her baby today and when I saw the pics I went all mushy.

I remember your previous post about Em having PND -Im glad shes feeling better. Having children is such a big adjustment to everything, sometimes it takes time to settle into.
I can imagine its been hard for you, Rhys looked looked a spitting image of Jack. except Rhys was much bigger. when I looked at him (and even now) It made me so sad & I cant help imagining whether Jack would look like his little brother.

shabster · 23/09/2008 23:04

Ems situation has been made worse by the fact that she is a nursery nurse at a nursery attached to a primary school in Bolton. She is a massive hit with all the 2 year olds she looks after. If you are in town with her loads of children shout her name.

She said she was gobsmacked at the difference between looking after someone elses child and actually having a baby of your own.

They will be fine....Danny has a beautiful family.

I have been singing songs to Lew and sniffing him - I love that baby smell.

We have been searching for years for the 'light at the end of the tunnel' and I think I can just see it but its still a few miles away

mel1981 · 23/09/2008 23:37

Im sure they will be fine shabs these things just take time and work (as we all know) but it sounds like she/they have a great family to love & support them. x

I still do it now at 18months I love smelling Rhys's hair -except when you can guess what hes had for lunch just by sniffing his head - boys are SO messy! LOL

Im off to bed now, can feel a cold coming on. the boys have been a bit sniffy today too....all the winter bugs are coming!!

Night x

shabster · 23/09/2008 23:49

Good night Mel - sweet dreams.

Good night girls - see you all in the morning. Thinking of all our lovely children tonight - they would all be so proud of us for 'sticking together to fight the world!'

charleymouse · 24/09/2008 00:05

travellingwilbury · 24/09/2008 06:55
