Says it all really, one of my dearest friends, aged 40 yrs old, suffered a massive heart attack and died immediately. I am in total shock and can't really believe it, he wasn't ill , there was no warning. I am in bits about it .

Oh mabs you poor thing. Take care of yourself. Do you have a rose or flower to throw into the grave as a way of saying goodbye? How is your friends wife?

GColdtimer · 19/02/2008 14:17

I am sure you do, its an awful thing to do and I remember that feeling of dread - and you have had to wait so long. Is it on Thursday?

winnie · 19/02/2008 14:19

MABS · 19/02/2008 14:59

His partner is terrible, v bad state. It Fri. Should i take a flower? is that what you do? never been to burial before

GColdtimer · 19/02/2008 15:05

I am sure she is, it is such a terrible time for everyone. At the burials I have been to, members of the family often have a flower to put in and then members of the congregation are invited to put a handful of dirt in as they leave. I never have done though, its a personal choice. I have never been to one where everyone has put a flower in so I don't think it is expected.

Wishing you lots of strength for Friday. The build up is worse than than the actual event in some ways.

GColdtimer · 19/02/2008 15:06

I meant earth, not dirt

noddyholder · 19/02/2008 15:18

Mabs you can choose to take on or not depending on what you want to do. I will be thinking of you as well and sending positive thoughts.

His poor partner. I expect she just wants to talk and talk though.
