its 2 years since my boy Tony ended his life. I have no idea why. the police came in the early hours of Christmas morning to tell me.
He was only 27, strong, funny, kind and loved by so many people.

He was living in Australia, I thought he might settle there, he'd been travelling but loved Australia. He surprised me by coming home on my birthday in 2019, that was the last time I saw him.

I dont know what else to say, except I miss him so fucking much, the pain is unbearable and I just don't understand why.

What a beautiful boy. It sounds like he was very thoughtful by coming home for your birthday. I'll light a candle for Tony tonight and I'm sending you lots of love.

I am so sorry for your loss, Op.

Goldenboysmum · 24/12/2022 21:22

My happiest memory...

Probably isn't the happiest, but definitely the funniest!

When he was in his early 20s, he came home drunk one night (could hardly stand) and said he had something to tell me, i though he was going to tell me he loved me, but no, he said...mum, your macaroni's fucking shite, and never ate it again

Op your original post just made me burst into uncontrollable tears, I can feel the pain in your post. Can't even imagine how it feels to lose a child, I'm so sorry.. Your son is so beautiful xxxx

Thedoglovesmemore · 24/12/2022 21:23

It is clear he was very, very loved OP and he obviously loved you deeply too- what a wonderful thing to come home and surprise you. That must be such a precious memory now.
In that photo he looks handsome and strong and enjoying the sunshine.
It is so very hard to understand why people take their own lives but it isn’t because they aren’t loved enough to stay. They just seem to feel pain so deeply that they can’t find a way past it.

Hope you can find some peace tonight and on Christmas Day. Take care.

So sorry for your loss op

all I can say as someone who has been tempted to take that course of action myself is when people think they that
they are not in their right minds
the sadness takes over them
to the point grey can’t think straight anymore

and I’m sorry you lost him that way
he was v handsome and I’m sure he had such much ahead of him

but the mind is so powerful

What a beautiful boy. I'm so so sorry OP. Tell us more about him if you would like. What were his favourite things when he was little?

Did you know Tony? or just hear about him.

I don't have much details of what happened, only what the police here told me. At first i though he'd had an accident at work, but couldn't understand why he was working on Christmas day. I really had to piece things together myself. I think it took a couple of days for me to realise what they meant and how he had actually died
