my son ended his life, can I tell you about him

its 2 years since my boy Tony ended his life. I have no idea why. the police came in the early hours of Christmas morning to tell me.
He was only 27, strong, funny, kind and loved by so many people.

He was living in Australia, I thought he might settle there, he'd been travelling but loved Australia. He surprised me by coming home on my birthday in 2019, that was the last time I saw him.

I dont know what else to say, except I miss him so fucking much, the pain is unbearable and I just don't understand why.

Tony looks like the kind of bloke I'd have stood and had an extra fag with, just to keep chatting with...

Growing up...well he was funny, shy and loved his grandad (my dad) Did well at school, was quite intelligent, but like a lot of teens, didnt apply himself as well as he could/should have, but he did alright.

When he was about 22 he became a personal trainer, thats what he always wanted to do.

He went travelling because one of his closest friends died in 2018, and he found it difficult to cope.

What a kind and handsome looking young man. So sorry for your loss, I can't begin to imagine your heartache. Sending lots of love at this time to you.

I remember an article about losing a child in the guardian which was written by a man with two children with terminal cancer. I'll try to find it but what really resonated was that he said we need to see the quality of a life that may be shorter then we expect it to have been, but actually a shorter life doesn't mean it's not been impactful or worth living. I hope this doesn't upset you but I when I read it I thought if I had lost a child it would have helped me (within reason.)

I'm sorry and sad for the loss of this lovely young man

My youngest DS tried suicide by jumping on to the motorway this year, thankfully he was stopped. I'm sorry your son didn't get the same intervention

It's a hard time of year to be missing a loved one, especially under these circumstances
