24 years since I held my baby boy

I cant believe it's been so long, the days have been so long, but the years so short.

My gorgeous little Scott Dot who fought his way through so many health problems for the first couple of months of his life, only to be cruelly taken after a few short weeks at home.

He was the most beautiful boy, with the biggest, darkest eyes, and beautiful dark hair, and the biggest feet I've ever seen on a baby 🤣 he also had THE biggest attitude I've ever seen in a baby when the mood took him too.

He taught me how to love, and was the first person to ever love me unconditionally, he taught me how to fight, he melted my heart that had been hardened through years of abuse as a child, and I think about him and miss him every day.

I only had him for such a short time, but he was such a blessing to me. He was so loved then, and is still so loved now. He has his little sister with him too sadly, but I really believe they are together.

I'm also going to shamelessly show him off, because if a Mum can't show off her gorgeous baby on MN, then where can she? 😊

Can anyone guess which photo shows the results of the first time I ever dressed a baby? Plus we have the obligatory 90s photo of baby in with a whole bunch of teddies. Then him in his favourite outfit.

My dc and I will light a wee candle and have some angel cake for him tonight, as we always do.

Thank you for reading 💐

I remember his pictures from previous anniversaries, mostly because of his amazing eyes. Beautiful boy, Scott, and his Mummy who loves him so much.

Thank you all so much.

It has warmed my heart so much that some of you remember my previous threads about my little boy. There isn't anyone around who remembers him, so it's really special to me that some of you do.

He impacted everything in my world so knowing he has had even the smallest impact in the lives of others is honestly the nicest thing.

He is so so loved, I just can't believe it's been so long. It really feels like yesterday.

Thank you for thinking of my boy 💐

Its such an odd thing being a bereaved parent. Nobody ever wants to talk about our kids anymore, nobody wants to remember because it makes them feel uncomfortable.

Then there are amazing people on MN who probably don't even realise how special it is to take a few minutes to acknowledge (and remember) our babies.

I remember in the days after Scotts death I just wanted to scream at everyone for getting on with their lives. Didn't the woman in tesco realise my whole world had caved in? How could she just go on like nothing was wrong? Didn't that guy on the bus notice that nothing will ever be the same again as he went about his day?

Unfortunately even the people who are/were supposed to care don't so I'm pretty used to it now.

I love putting his photos on here so people can see him and he's still being acknowledged. He was my absolute everything.

What a beautiful child 😍 ❤ its so clear from the photos how loved Scott was, and is still. Something which I think is amazing, is that every child is a brand new life and their existence can never be undone, not ever, not for all of eternity. Nothing will ever change the fact that he lived and got to love you and be loved by you. Nothing can ever, ever change that. He will always be your son and you his mummy 💙

I too remember your previous thread about your gorgeous little boy. He looks like such an alert little baby and you can see that he was a happy little soul.
