DD is 2 and has been ill for about four days with what we presumed to be a heavy cold. She hasn't slept much and today took a turn for the worse where we had to call an ambulance due to her breathing being laboured while sleeping and sucking in under the ribs with every breath. Paramedics think some kind of upper respiratory infection as her chest appears clear. Epiglottitis was mentioned or possibly severe tonsillitis but they didn't want to check her mouth at home in case it panicked her.

DH went to the hospital with her as he's calm and collected and only one parent is allowed due to coronavirus restrictions. She's a daddy's girl anyway so she'll feel safe with him but I'm kicking myself that I can't be with them both. Haven't heard anything yet and they've been gone about an hour.

Am terrified and need distraction as I know there's nothing I can do and she's with the best people.

Message from MNHQ: Please note, very sad update further down the thread

He knows you and her love him without needing any words. Beautiful baby, beautiful pup.

Lifeispassingby · 10/11/2020 02:03

www.davidaustinroses.co.uk/ we got a rose named after my brother from here for my parents and siblings after he died and they have all blossomed beautifully. My friend lost her son as a baby as she got a gardener to advise her on rose type and position for her memorial in her garden as roses can be tricky and it was important for her that it was right. Sending you all my thoughts and love

pinkoneblueone · 10/11/2020 02:07

I am so so sorry for your loss! Sending you my love 💖

Rae36 · 10/11/2020 07:27

That's a lovely photo x

SunshineCake · 10/11/2020 07:32

I bought my indoor plant from Morrison's and I'd pick one up for you if I lived near enough.

Could poor doggy have one of Wyatt's soft toys or a blanket?

ArabellaScott · 10/11/2020 08:47

What a darling picture. Star

IHateCoronavirus · 10/11/2020 09:31

The generous gardener is a lovely climbing rose that repeatedly flowers with pale pink Pom Pom like roses. Once one flower fades cut that stem back to the next group of five leaves and it will keep on going.

5lilducks · 10/11/2020 09:37

I am so sorry for your loss op. This is the most heartbreaking thread I have read. I am lost for words. Thinking of you and your family and sending love Flowers

CorianderBlues · 10/11/2020 09:40

I'm so so sorry for your loss, although that never sounds sufficient. Her pictures made me sob. What a beautiful little girl. Nobody should have to ever go through this.

Massive hugs to you and your DH.

Hooleywhipper · 10/11/2020 09:54

OP I just don’t have the words. Sending my love and thoughts to you all 🤍

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 10/11/2020 09:58

Your newspaper article is lovely.

Your poor dog too, so confusing for them.

Don't rush into sorting/getting rid of her things. Don't do anything you might regret in time. It would be good to talk to DH & explain that you understand you want/need different things, but it's not fair to do things unilaterally. He's out all her things in her room because that's what he needed, but what about you and your DD's you might need her things around you and having things done without your agreement can affect you really badly & shatter your trust when you need each other more than ever. Grieving & processing differently is very difficult, but you need to make decisions together xx

I'll never forget Wyatt Rose 🌹

Ivysaurusrex · 10/11/2020 10:25

I'm so so sorry for your loss. It's heartbreaking

SingingSands · 10/11/2020 10:51

I'm thinking of your and your family, sending out love, and I'm just so so sorry this happened.

If words could heal, you would be whole again, there is so much love for little Wyatt on this thread.

Take care, I'll be thinking of you x

I am so sorry for your loss.

Something for further down the line perhaps but the podcast below is created by a mum in America who experienced a similar situation to you.

I am interested because I lost a sibling in similar circumstances many years ago. I have found it to be quite sensitively done.

Anyway here is the link if you are interested.

just heartbroken for you @sobsanta - the article was lovely, Wyatt Rose will be remembered by thousands of us who never met her, she has touched our hearts.

Winston's Wish is a charity who support children that have lost a parent or sibling, I pointed friends in their direction a few years ago and they found them very helpful. Might be worth contacting for your other DCs, they will mix with children who have experienced similar losses and be able to talk freely about their feelings. www.winstonswish.org

lots of love to you and the family

ShirleyPhallus · 10/11/2020 19:21

Oh my god OP, I am so sorry. Wyatt was such a beautiful little girl. Rest in peace Flowers

pinkpetal2 · 10/11/2020 20:00

She has really beautiful eyes. I am so sorry OP. Life is so cruel. I defo agree with the rose idea my mum had one for my aunt and it grows so beautifully, as soon as I see it I think of her instantly.
I thought maybe as a suggestion her clothes maybe favourite outfits you liked her in, you can get them made into teddy bears and blankets so you can keep them forever and cuddle into it. I don't know what else to say other than I'm so sorry and I hope in time you and your beautiful family heal. Night night Wyatt.

IRIELADY · 10/11/2020 20:05

Still thinking of you.

Thisgirlcanrun · 11/11/2020 20:21

Am watching Frozen 2 at the moment (it is on sky cinema Disney and was thinking of you - especially during Anna’s song “Do the next right thing” after she loses Olaf (no spoilers to those who haven’t seen it) - the words really struck me and made me think of you @sobsanta especially when you were saying about Wyatt enjoying the “some things never change” song ❤️❤️ Xxx

kate288 · 11/11/2020 21:40

Still thinking of you too @sobsanta, really hope you are all doing as okay as you can be right now. You're all in my thoughts constantly.
