TERRIBLE NEWS FROM YORKIEGIRL

Yorkiegirl has phoned me from holiday in Portugal; her husband Nigel has collapsed and died tonight.
She thinks it was a stroke or heart attack.
The authorities are trying to get hold of her parents - they are also in Portugal
Fortunately, neither of her DDs saw anything
I don't know much more than that but will post if I have anything else

OMG. Poor Yorkiegirl. It would be a tragedy even at home, but on holiday? Words fail.

i think i still have YG address, can anyone suggest a good online place to order a parcel of food suitable for families to help them in the first few days when they get home? does anyone know how big her freezer may be?

Yorkiegirl, I don't know if you will get to read this but I am so terribly sorry for you and your family. What an appalling thing. Shocked and stunned.

please coordinate with the others before you send anything like food - it would be horrible to have to deal with a well meaning avalanche of stuff when they get home .

Stick with cards - and wait until later for anything else - until you know what they need help with.

Oh, poor, poor Yorkiegirl and her dd's. I can't imagine how they will cope with this.
I just hope they can get home soon and aren't prevented from doing so by the current flight restrictions.

At the moment, I don't think food and so on, is what she needs to be honest

I think she will probably need cash more than anything - I don't mean to sound rude or offensive so forgive me if that is how it comes across. I know that there will be lots of expenses and that as they have joint accounts etc, it will take a while before her finances are settled. So I think for now, the practical way of helping is to donate money - I'm sorry to be so brutal
