TERRIBLE NEWS FROM YORKIEGIRL

Yorkiegirl has phoned me from holiday in Portugal; her husband Nigel has collapsed and died tonight.
She thinks it was a stroke or heart attack.
The authorities are trying to get hold of her parents - they are also in Portugal
Fortunately, neither of her DDs saw anything
I don't know much more than that but will post if I have anything else

Deepest, deepest sympathy to you and your girls YG.
I lost my DH ten years ago when DD was 22 months old.
The only thing I can think to say is, TIME. Sometimes it feels like the enemy as it takes you away from your beloved. Days feel like weeks and even an hour without your DH can feel like an eternity. But eventually, with time, the pain will begin to ease. You will find peace again. In the earliest days of my loss I was sent a letter telling me much the same and I found it impossible to imagine that I would ever be whole again. But now I know it is possible. You will carry him with you, always, and his love will reach you when you need it most.
You sound like such a wonderful mum and such strong person but allow yourself to be cared for too.

I'm so sorry Yorkiegirl. It is something everyone dreads and hopes it never happens to them. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this (and so far from home). x
