Morning girls xx

Happy Birthday ILike - was mine a few days ago - Fifty soddin' four I was Grin

Hope the scan goes really well.

Lavendes - that sounds perfectly, totally normal to me. I took some shoes back to get a refund, about 3 weeks after Matty was killed. Stood in the shop in the queue. When they got to me they just asked what was wrong with them and I burst into massive blobby tears and I could hear my voice going louder and higher. I couldn't stop. Poor shop assistant just gave me the money back!! I still cant go in that shop to this day.

Morning all.
Congratulations Spilt.

Ilike how the scan goes well Happy birthday todays a good day for one (biased emoticon)

lavandes · 13/12/2010 11:38

I think it is the pressure of Christmas that is making everyone 'twitchy' for want of a better word.

I have bought enough crap to feed the 5000, totally ridiculous when people are starving, there will only be 4 of us for most of the time, but I suppose we all do it every year and say we won't next year.

Roll on 2011 and hope it is a better year for us all. xxx

lavandes · 13/12/2010 11:39

sorry Happy Birthday ilike and good luck for the scan. xx

lavandes · 13/12/2010 11:45

Just read about small children being held hostage at a nursery in France. Apparently the hostage taker is depressed. I say put him in a room with the mothers then see how depressed he is. I despair at how horrible some people can be. Hope he lets them go soon.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/12/2010 12:22

Thank you everyone for your congratulations!

Ilike fantastic news from your scan, I'm so so pleased for you. What a lovely bit of news for this tough time of the year.

LF how did it go with the hospital today? Hope you are ok.

lavandes well done for being brave enough to go back to the shop. It's so horrible and frightening when you completely lose control of yourself, whether it's tears or panic or whatever. I've done it too and it's very overwhelming.

Caz I remember you saying about the baby girl at your church. I suppose I'm suddenly finding it really hard because we've only found out so recently that Bobbie was a little girl. I couldn't look at the newborn either and I feel really bad for ignoring the mum. I will send her a congratulations card I think, just can't do it in person right now.

Take care all xx

travellingwilbury · 13/12/2010 19:41

Split I am so sorry I missed your news , that is brilliant Grin

spilttheteaagain · 13/12/2010 19:45

Thanks TW Grin

Further evidence in my book as to how surviving siblings totally get the whole grief thing.... One of Gregor's wee pals was 4 at the weekend and DS1 (age 6) said to me tonight.. "mum if G had still been alive we would have been at S's birthday party yesterday" Sadly so very true and I find it incredible that he has things so joined up!! xx

shabbapinkfrog · 13/12/2010 20:15

PPM he sounds an amazing little man xxx

I just wrote out some Christmas cards dont usually do them. Then I thought, how un-fair on Tom. How mean. When he grows up he wont know how to show his children how to write them, what to say in them....nothing!!! Slapped myself around the face (virtually) and we have had a good time writing them out.

Also written Danny's birthday cards. should be writing out Gareths as well!!

OK - Onwards and Upwards!!!

peterpansmum · 13/12/2010 20:25

Thanks Shabs - he is amazing and has taught me so much about grief.

christmas cards... Am doing none myself this year but have bought a wee pack so if ds1 wants to he can write some for his wee pals - kinda similar to your approach with Tom - and i don't think its mean at all - it is how it is and we all just have to do what we have to do to keep on plodding through this feckin treacle!! Big hugs for you - i've missed you - hope you're doing ok at the moment xxxx

shelleylou · 13/12/2010 20:36

Thats fantastic Ilike. Congratulations again. That must be an amazing birthday present. My parents spoilt me with some pamper bits including chocolate and wine which is going down rather nicely lol

shabbapinkfrog · 13/12/2010 20:38

Im doing better than I usually do at this time of year Grin

...one foot in front of the other and dont forget to breathe xxx

Went to the card shop for Dannys birthday cards and had to fight the tears. I have got my best friends little boy (he's 9) a Christmas card for her. In the middle of all the 'Happy Christmas Mum/Mummy/Mother cards was 'HAPPY CHRISTMAS MAM - I have never seen one of them before. Matty called me MAM from the minute he could talk....none of my other sons have ever done that?????

peterpansmum · 13/12/2010 20:43

Haha and you said you hadn't been getting messages recently from your lads!?

I met a neighbour in my street today who was saying how awful the snow was etc etc and how were we coping and i said (perhaps a little too bluntly Grin ) well you know after the last couple of years and some of the shit our family has coped with i don't think a wee bit (well 3 foot actually Grin of snow is really gonna put me up nor down!! Do you think i overdid it?! Grin

hope the wine and chocs are going down well Shelley - happy birthday xxxx

shelleylou · 13/12/2010 20:48

That certainly seams like a message to me. The biggest one I'ce had a couple lately. Mattys's glass got broken a few days ago the day id bought myself my own JD glass too was a bit of a freak incident. Went pub saturday night and went to the pub i always met him in and had a drink in without thinking i orderd his drink like old times Grin
