Here's some combinations I'm pondering on; any opinions would be great. I'm into multiple middle names, as you can see...

Boy Combos:

Atticus Farrow Artan Remus
Atticus Larkin Aubrey More
Atticus Farrow Artan Boone
Atticus Aubrey Larkin Boone/More.

Girl Combos:
Evelyn Rose Pommeline ("Pommaleen") Noelle
Evelyn Violet Pommeline Noelle.

Thoughts?

Middle names should be for honouring someone or for fun as they are certainly not for practical use.

All the boy combos are Ok, but i don't like the rose or violet with evelyn.

Also, Atticus is very unusual whereas
Eve(lyn) is very common (widley used) so there seems a slight discrpeancy there.

Why madness? They're all perfectly viable names. They all have personal meanings as well. The only problem is I don't know what NN you'd give an Atticus. Atty?

I'm going to be blunt so I apologise in advance.

Your child is going to suffer a lifetime of being humiliated because of those names - most of them are quite strange and added to that, you want 3 middle names.

Evelyn Rose and Evelyn Violet are both fine on their own - without the bizarre add ons. Your boys names are no good.

Pommeline (originally spelt Pomeline but I prefer two m's), was the name of some French queen's daughter way back, it stems from Pomme (apple) and I think it has a lovely sound.

I'm baffled by people's reactions to having more than two middle names...you should look up Picasso's, it really puts things in perspective

I'd be willing to give explanations to the said "bonkers" names, if it would help my case.

None of the names are to my taste, however,

I'm not a fan of Larkin (too darling buds) or Aubrey, so my preferred option would be Atticus Boone Farrow More.

As for girls, both much of a muchness, just one flower name between them and I prefer Rose.

Evelyn Rose Pommeline ("Pommaleen") Noelle
Evelyn Violet Pommeline Noelle.

Pommeline is not a name I've ever heard of, but I would go with the traditional spelling with one m as the 2 ms looks too much like Pommie.

Thanks for the advice. Larkin is after the poet, Aubrey I've always liked and it's the name of a good friend. I prefer Rose too, since Violet reminds me of Violent.

I think you can safely go crazy and indulge yourself wih middle names without seriously damaging your children.

Doing so with a first name by which they will be forever identified needs more caution however, but Evelyn and even Atticus are hardly straying into the dangerous bordering on child abuse realms.

people on mn get very hung up on middle names, agonising about whether they 'go' with the first name.

It really doesn't matter.

they will only be ever referred to a handful of times throughout their life, so go with whatever takes your fancy.

I personally think it's a great way to honour realtives with dodgy names that you wouldn't want to saddle a child with on a dialy basis, that's what we did. makes everyone feel good but actually has no real impact or relevance.

I say indulge yourself meadowlark, but agree Pommeline does sound made up. What about Pamela? much underused these days.

Philip is a good name. Love Larkin the poet but Larkin was his surname.

I rather like Atticus Larkin Aubrey More, it flows better than the others.

As an aside, my cat is called Atticus. It's a fab name for a cat.

Brideshead, I also think Atticus Larkin Aubrey More flows best, but I think I prefer Remus or Artan to Aubrey. How about Atticus Larkin Remus More? Or Atticus Larkin Artan More?

I also really need NN suggestions for Atticus, since we Brits seem to be too impatient to pronounce a name with more than two syllables.

My grandmother was Evelyn Mary. Somehow think that sounds better than Rose or Violet.

(Pommeline - sounds like pummel to me).

Not sure on the boys names. Slightly feel some vile schoolfriends would go to town on nns, boys being boys.
