Fox?

Fox for a boy. Is this just too off-the-wall?

There is research on names making a person and vice versa. It's socio-economic background that is the biggest factor in making a person, by a long way.

Giving a child a name that is difficult within the group you have aspirations for them to be a part of, could be quite a hindrance. So if you have a son and have decided you are going to work hard for him to have chances you never had, calling him something neutral like Thomas or David is possibly an advantage over, say, Jayden or Duwayne.

Anyway I can't talk, my son has a dog's name.

I know a boy called Fox. He's about 10 yo. He has a brother called River and a sister called Star. Very brave names me thinks.

I knew a little Fox. So sweet, although he did have very red hair so suited him. I was abit taken aback by the name at first but the mum was so lovely as was the little boy I soon came round to it. They were American though maybe more popular over there?

Akamummy am with you on wanting to strike out from the names everyone else chooses - we have had a few raised eyebrows from the Tom/ Jack/Grace crowd but the world would be a dull place if we all followed the majority!

I love the name, and i can see the attraction of it. But Foxx would make me think of a porn stars moniker, not that ive seen any of course, ahem [ wink]. So i like it with a single X.

He has red hair as well.
He is not bullied, only problem was that his little sister used to mis-pronounce it with unfortunate results.

I immediately thought Mulder too. I think it may suit him when he develops into a ruggedly handsome man.

You also suggested Mac, so how about Max as a compromise?

Can't have Max - best friend has just had a Max.
My grandfather was Macfarlane - so thought Mac might be a nice family name but also a bit quirky.
Still like Fox though.....
